Patricia Randle-Riley
Patricia A. Randle-Riley, 53, of San Jose, Calif., died Oct. 25, 2001, following a short illness. She died in San Jose.
She was born Sept. 28, 1948, in Bremerton to Ocie and Fannie Randle. She graduated from West High School in 1966.
She married
Willie Riley in July 1968 in Bremerton. He resides in San Jose.
She worked for Compaq Computers in Santa Clara County.
She enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of the Sinclair Baptist Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Reginald Riley of San Jose; a daughter, Debra Yeartie of Elk Grove, Calif.; a brother, Gerald Randle of San Jose; two sisters, Betty Randle-Hayes of Port Orchard and Dian Randle of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held in San Jose on Oct. 28.

Valerie Kittell
Valerie Lane (Larson) Kittell, 56, of Bremerton died due to complications from lupus Nov. 12, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Belmond, Iowa, to Robert and Marjorie (Loats) Larson. She graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Iowa, in 1963 and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls in 1965. She also attended the University of Northern Iowa.
She married
John F. Kittell on July 1, 1967, in Dows, Iowa. He resides in Bremerton.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts. She participated in the bell choir at Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church, where she was a member.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of Dows; two sons, Robert of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and John of Bellevue; and a sister, Polly Eide of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church.

Archie Parker
Archie E. Parker, 84, of Bremerton died of lung cancer Nov. 8, 2001, at the home of his son Martin.
He was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Bozeman, Mont., to Ernest and Laura (Davis) Parker. He attended Selah High School in Selah, graduating in 1935.
He graduated from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Apprenticeship Program in 1944.
He married
Marjorie Wilber on April 18, 1943, in Sumner.
He was a marine electrician for many years, retiring in 1983.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, nature and poetry.
He was Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven and Martin, both of Bremerton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a son, Ronald A.
At his request, no services are planned.

Armida Frantz
Armida Frantz, 87, of Poulsbo died Nov. 7, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 11, 1914, in Ajo, Ariz., to Fernando and Margarita Cruz. She attended school in California.
She married
Paul Frantz on March 28, 1935, in Los Angeles. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She owned and operated a beauty salon for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4992 and was a volunteer at Group Health in Silverdale for six years. She enjoyed people, music, dancing, traveling and shopping.
She was Catholic.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Stark of Seabeck; a brother, Bobby Cruz of Redding, Calif.; four sisters, Ima Alegria of Upland, Calif., Sally Firkins of Shafter, Calif., Norma Anderson of Lompoc, Calif., and Erma McMackin of Hillsboro, Ore.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Chuck.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at Riverside Memorial cemetery in Riverside, Calif. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

George Chiasson
George Patrick Chiasson, 50, of Silverdale died Oct. 21, 2001, in Seattle.
He was born Aug. 4, 1951, in Gary, Ind., to Edward and Margaret (Scasney) Chiasson. He graduated from Hardaway High School in Columbus, Ga., in 1969 and from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in 1980.
He married
Christine French on April 25, 1971.
Mr. Chiasson served in the Navy for 23 years as a physician's assistant, achieving the rank of lieutenant. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal.
Following his naval career, Mr. Chiasson worked as a physician's assistant with Group Health in Port Orchard. He retired in 1992.
He volunteered as a BMX medic and was active with Where's George.com. He was a member of Silverdale Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Margaret Chiasson of Columbus, Ga.; three sons, Paul, Joshua and Andrew, all of Silverdale; and a brother, Eddy of Summerville, S.C. He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life in memory of Mr. Chiasson will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Edith Hoem
Edith S. Hoem, 81, of Port Orchard died Nov. 9, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born May 17, 1920, in Olalla to Victor and Anna Anderson. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1938.
She married
John Hoem on Oct. 18, 1946, in Port Orchard.
She was deputy treasurer at the Kitsap County Courthouse for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She also was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sons of Norway and enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Victor of Moab, Utah, Walter of Bremerton, and Edwin, Donald and Thomas, all of Port Orchard; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Inurnment at Fraola cemetery.

Elizabeth Holmes
Elizabeth V. Holmes, 90, of Silverdale died Nov. 8, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 21, 1910, in Seattle to Jesse and Anna (Wetherell) Vaughan. She graduated from West Seattle High School in 1927, the University of Washington in 1931 and Stanford University in 1955.
She married
Harlan B. Holmes on June 15, 1968, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1975.
She worked in civil service for the Navy and the Department of Interior for 34 years, retiring in 1966.
She was a past member of Nobel Grand Mystic Rebekah Lodge and musician for Rebekah Assembly. She was a member of Manette Community Church.
Survivors include a stepson, William Holmes of Ashland, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Marybelle Sceva of Stanwood; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews; 16 great-great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Vaughan, and a sister, J. Louise Frey.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Entombment at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Sharlene Lambert
Sharlene R. Lambert, 35, of Port Orchard died of a brain tumor Nov. 10, 2001, in Port Orchard.
She was born Aug. 5, 1966, in Bremerton to Marvin and Janet (Lance) Lambert. She graduated from Olympic High School in 1984 and Olympic College in 1987.
She was a reservationist with the Navy officer/enlisted personnel quarters at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 10 years.
She attended the Neighborhood Christian Center.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Marvin and Erma of Port Orchard; her mother, Janet of Bremerton; two brothers, Pat of Kennewick and Dan of Bremerton; a stepbrother, Mark Ard of Mill Creek; a sister, Ginger Gruber of Port Orchard; a stepsister, Teri Ard of Federal Way; and three nieces.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Haven of Rest Funeral Home.
The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Interment
will take place at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Gig Harbor.

Archie R. Page, 76, of Port Orchard died Nov. 9, 2001, at home.
He was born June 28, 1925, in Orchards, Wash., to Lester and Sadie (Harbison) Page.
He married
Beverly Colman on Sept. 18, 1948, at the Harper Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was an electrical contractor in the local area for a number of years. He was an electronic technician at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport until retiring in 1988.
He enjoyed hiking in the Olympic Mountains and traveling.
He is a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry of Bremerton and Kerry of Port Orchard; three daughters, Archalene O'Bosky and Candy Mannahan of Port Orchard, and Tammy Brear of Shelton; a sister, Cleta Iverson of Salem, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elvin; and a son, James.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Finlay Carberry
Finlay Hector Carberry, 79, of Bremerton died Nov. 8, 2001, at home.
He was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Centuria, Wis., to Dr. Elmer and Flora (McRae) Carberry.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-29 pilot and instructor.
He was employed as a quality assurance engineer with McDonnell-Douglas until his retirement in 1988.
He was interested in aviation, photography, fishing and computers.
He married
Cynthia Reaves. They were married
52 years.
She preceded him in death in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Andrew of Port Orchard; a daughter, Cheryl McCawley of Springfield, Ore.; a brother, Jim of Yountville, Calif.; and two grandsons.
He requested a private memorial service. His remains will be scattered in the same location as his wife's were previously.
