Helen Fitzgerald
Helen I. Fitzgerald, 84, died Oct. 22, 2001, at her Bremerton residence.
She was born July 31, 1917, in Bremerton to one of the city's pioneer families, Charles and Isadore (Horan) Coleman. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1935 and received her nursing degree from Providence Hospital in Seattle.
She was a member of Ladies of the Elks 1181 and enjoyed spending time at the ocean. She was Roman Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Thomas P. Fitzgerald of Tahuya; a daughter, Cathy Jo DeBard of Bremerton; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. A funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Lloyd Robinson
Lloyd Robinson, 83, of Port Orchard died Oct. 20, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born May 5, 1918, in Pitcher, Okla., to William and Stella Abbott (Ellison) Robinson.
He worked for North American Aviation Inc., . as an aviation engineer and helped in the design of the X-15 hypersonic research program.
He enjoyed playing the electric guitar.
He was a member of the Apostolic faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Nicholas of Sacramento, Calif., and Johanna Brooks of Port Orchard; a sister Sibyl Henry of El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie (Sammons) in 1971; and a son, Richard William "Dicky Bill" Robinson.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Interment
will be at Fraola cemetery in Olalla.

John Droge
John J. Droge, 70, of Bremerton died Oct. 19, 2001, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
He was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Charles and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Droge. He graduated in 1948 from Lincoln High School in Brooklyn.
He served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952 as a petty officer.
He was a principal officer with the Joint Council for the Teamsters Union for 26 years.
He was Catholic.
He is survived by a sister, Gail Van Glahn of Lady Lake, Fla.
No service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Lowell Beernink
Lowell Gerald Beernink, 80, of Grapeview died Oct. 21, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Lynden to Harry and Ella (Mutchler) Beernink. He attended Queen Anne High School in Seattle and the University of Washington.
He served in the Coast Guard during World War II as a musician first class trumpet player.
Mr. Beernink worked in the glass container business, managing regional sales for 35 years before retiring in 1983.
He was an avid collector of classic jazz records and historical bottles and flasks.
Survivors include his wife, Janyce (Daniels); a son, Thomas Beernink; two daughters, Donna Kasemeier of Belfair and Carol Kirby of Bellevue; a sister, Joy Schlenker of Olympia; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial servicewill be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Allyn Historic Church.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity or foundation.
John Sanders
John Allen Sanders, 45, of Bremerton died Oct. 18, 2001, in Seattle of complications from a bone marrow transplant.
He was born Feb. 24, 1956, in Olympia to Donald and Itsuko (Arakawa) Sanders. He graduated from West High School in Bremerton.
He married
Peggy Henry on June 28, 1980, in Bremerton.
Mr. Sanders worked at Parr Ford-Mazda in Bremerton for 16 years as a vehicle preparation specialist. At the time of his death, he had worked with the Auto Glass Clinic in Poulsbo for two years as an auto glass technician.
He was a ham radio operator with the call sign KC7NUE. He also enjoyed photography.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David and Jeffrey of Bremerton; two brothers, Ronald of Bremerton and Thomas of Spokane; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bremerton Church of the Nazarene, 924 Sheridan Road. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation at Cherry Grove Crematory.
Marvin Koepplin
Marvin J. Koepplin, 65, of Bremerton died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma Oct. 20, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born July 25, 1936, in Elgin, N.D., to Henry and Hulda (Wegner) Koepplin. He was educated in North Dakota, graduating in 1954.
He served in the Army from 1956 to 1957 as a specialist third class.
He married
Ruth Dahlen on June 13, 1964, in Bismarck, N.D.
He was a nuclear inspector at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 26 years, retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed gardening and was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Bremerton; a daughter, Mary Jo Swan of Bothell; his mother of North Dakota; a brother, Clarence of Dillon, Mont.; and two sisters, Janice Henseler of Tooele, Utah, and Wanda Anderson of Huron, S.D.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Robert Meade
Robert Franklin Meade, 61, of Port Orchard died of cancer Oct. 21, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Rawlins, Wyo., to Franklin and Edna Meade. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Puget Sound School of Law.
He married
Lesley Sabol on Sept. 4, 1992, in Seattle.
He served in the Army National Guard.
He was an information technology manager for 35 years.
He enjoyed outdoor activities and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Wendy Bambrick of Seattle and Piper Norton of Bothell; his mother of Tacoma; three brothers, William G. of Graham, James R. of Sydney, Australia, and Thomas L. of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Patricia Swanson of Puyallup; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma.

Charles Broga Sr.
Charles Norman Broga Sr., 93, of Bremerton died Oct. 16, 2001, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 8, 1908, in Chester, Mass., to Oren and Gertrude (Center) Broga. He was educated in Westfield, Mass.
He married
Lydia Kasewurm in New York state in 1936.
Mr. Broga had worked at the San Francisco shipyard during World War II. He retired in 1977 from the San Francisco Airport Maintenance Department.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles Jr. and Donald, both of Bremerton, and Gary of San Francisco; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
At the family's request, no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation at Cherry Grove Crematory and inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Carl Shuler
Former Bremerton resident Carl Dalton Shuler, 54, of Tacoma died Oct. 18, 2001, of cancer at Heritage Rehabilitation Center in Tacoma.
He was born Nov. 6, 1946, in Spokane to Leslie and Josephine (Beasley) Shuler. He had attended Redmond High School in Redmond.
Mr. Shuler served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1969. He had worked for the veterans hospital in Tacoma for seven years.
He enjoyed music and was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his mother, Josephine Beasley Shuler of Bremerton; one daughter, Bridget Shuler of Sacramento, Calif.; four brothers, Richard, Frank and Ken Shuler, all of Bremerton, and Al Evans of Clarkston; three sisters, Judy Amiotte of Rapid City, S.D., and Kathy Nichols and Norma Manske, both of Bremerton; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Inurnment is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Robert Reynolds Jr.
Robert Brace Reynolds Jr., 57, of Port Orchard died Oct. 16, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 27, 1943, in San Diego to Robert and Janet (McLeod) Reynolds Sr. He graduated from St. Maries High School in St. Maries, Idaho, in 1961 and from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, in 1972. He received a masters from the University of Idaho in 1973.
Mr. Reynolds served in the Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked later as an engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years, retiring in 1993.
He was active in German Shorthaired Pointer breeding and rescue.
Survivors include two brothers, William Kelsey of Virginia and Thomas Reynolds of Bremerton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Evelyn Langdon
Evelyn Frances Langdon, 79, of Belfair died Oct. 16, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Callao, Mo., to Henry and Josie (Gates) Grimshaw. She graduated from Hanford High School in 1939.
She married
Charles W. Langdon in 1942 in Vallejo, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mrs. Langdon had been a homemaker throughout her adult life.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Cates of Belfair; one sister, Geneva Adams of Hanford, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Hanford cemetery in Hanford, Calif. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
