Frank Morgan
Frank L. Morgan, 96, of Bremerton, died Oct. 15, 2001, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 28, 1905, in Louisburg County, Kan., to William and Hannah (Collins) Morgan. He attended one-room country schools in Garfield County and later continued to educate himself.
He married
Marie Daniels on May 25, 1925, in Wapato. She preceded him death in 1989.
He worked in Yakima Valley irrigation projects for 10 years and was a crane operator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 23 years. He retired in 1963.
He enjoyed radio and TV electronics and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Clinton E. of Seattle; two daughters, Niona Cherpeske of Port Angeles and Ellena Retzlaff of Bremerton; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Robert Tague
Robert Dale Tague, 82, died Oct. 13, 2001, at his home in Indianola.
He was born May 6, 1919, in Bayard, Neb., to Frank and Anna (Walsworth) Tague. He graduated in 1937 from Bayard High School and in 1950 from Northwest Bible College in Seattle. He received additional training at Bellevue Hospital in New York.
He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946.
He married
Marian Kirsch in 1957.
He enjoyed his ministry work on the Kitsap peninsula, and retired in 1980. He was a member of the Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike of Poulsbo; a daughter, Victoria Vande Griend of Edmonds; a brother, Frank of California; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Indianola Community Church. Cremation is by Cherry Grove Crematory. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Knute Johnson
Edmund Paysen "Knute" Johnson, 78, of Gig Harbor died of myelodysplasia syndrome Oct. 3, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 30, 1923, in Auburn to Edmund M. and Eleanor (Carstens) Johnson. He graduated in 1941 from South Kitsap High School.
He married
Beverly Jane Campbell on Aug. 10, 1946, in Port Orchard.
Mr. Johnson was an aviation machinist's mate in the Navy from 1941 until his retirement in 1965. He achieved the rank of chief petty officer.
He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Gig Harbor Lions Club and Burley Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Edmund, Douglas, Kenneth and Christopher, all of Gig Harbor, and Glen of Port Orchard; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ted.
A memorial service was held Oct. 6 at Burley Bible Church and a graveside service was held at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Linda Nohrenberg
Linda T. Nohrenberg, 49, of Bremerton, died Oct. 13, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born April 12, 1952, in Bremerton to Orley and Gloria (Zink) Nohrenberg. She graduated in 1970 from South Kitsap High School.
She was formerly employed with Imperial Manufacturing of Bremerton and also was food service worker with the South Kitsap School District.
She enjoyed painting and crafts.
She was a Christian.
Survivors include her mother; two brothers, Ron and Richard; one sister, Donna Barnes; and her maternal grandmother, Gladys Zink, all of Port Orchard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, both at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Edith Broaddus
Edith Broaddus, 92, of Port Orchard died Oct. 8, 2001, at home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1908, in Iowa to Roland and Josephine (Schwinn) Sheets. She was educated in Peoria, Ill.
She married
Ray J. Broaddus on July 20, 1935, in Peoria, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She was a homemaker and operated a jewelry business with her husband in Michigan and Florida until retiring in 1981.
She enjoyed baking and cooking.
She was a member of the Assemblies of God, attending South Park Assembly and Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Jean Watkins and Joan Edith Garcia, both of Port Orchard; two brothers, Louie Sheets and Bill Sheets, both of Peoria; a sister, Mary Leonard of Lincoln Park, Mich.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
A funeral service will be at noon Thursday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Bertha Wester
Bertha V. Wester, 88, of Tacoma died Oct. 15, 2001, in Tacoma.
She was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Purmo, Finland, to Carl and Ida Mattson.
She enjoyed singing and was a member of Silverdale Bible Church.
Survivors include two sons, David of Tacoma and John of Brownsville; a daughter, Ruth Shaw of Yuma, Ariz.; a brother, Bernard Mattson of Iron Mountain, Mich.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch S. Wester in 1984; and a son, Raymond.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Stephanie De Gelder, 16, of Bremerton died of cancer Oct. 9, 2001, at Children's Hospital in Seattle.
She was born May 10, 1985, in Holland to Willem and Connie (Dixon) De Gelder. She attended Bremerton High School.
She is survived by her mother, Connie Dixon of Bremerton; her father, Willem De Gelder of Holland; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H Dixon of Weymouth Dorset, England.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Bonney Watson Funeral Home, 1732 Broadway, on Capital Hill in Seattle. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Old Tacoma cemetery, 4801 South Tacoma Way, in Tacoma.
Charles Inness
Charles S. Inness, 71, of Bremerton died of cancer Oct. 9, 2001, at home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Chicago to Charles and Norah (Mawson) Inness. He graduated in 1947 from Waukegan Township High School in Waukegan, Ill. He later graduated in 1976 from Solano Community College in California.
He was an electronics technician third class in the Navy from 1947 to 1950. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
He later was a highway patrolman in California for 32 years, retiring in 1989.
He married
Jackie Garwood on May 19, 1987, in Reno, Nev.
He was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Jay and John Geiger; two daughters, Kathi Inness-Paquette of Concord, Calif., and Debra Inness of Richmond, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Tammy Duncan of Stoughton, Wis., and Lisa Morrison of Bremerton; three sisters, Dorothy Cooper of Sun City West, Ariz., Marge Biddlecom of Waukegan and Alice Hett of Micco, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fairfield Funeral Home in Fairfield, Calif. Local arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Clifford Yi
Clifford I. Yi, 57, of Poulsbo died of liver disease Oct. 9, 2001, at home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Seoul, Korea, to Sun-Yong and Bok-Sun (Oh) Yi. He was educated in Seoul and graduated in 1972 from Han-Yang University.
He married
Katherine M. Hong on Dec. 3, 1973, in Seoul.
He was an engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 22 years, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling. He was a Christian.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jennifer, Melinda and Christine, all of the family home; two sisters, Kei-Ja Coles of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Chin-Chu Kang of Irving, Texas.
A funeral service was held Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Ronald Gunderson
Ronald Eugene Gunderson Sr., 66, of Allyn died Oct. 13, 2001.
He was born June 21, 1935, in Seattle to Olaf Allen and Thelma Irene (Schafer) Gunderson.
He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1955 and was awarded the United Nation's Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
He married
Ethel Gregory on Aug. 17, 1973, in Olympia.
He was a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and a commercial fisherman for 33 years.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a Christian.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Olaf and Ronald Jr., both of Allyn; two stepsons, Steve Ewald of Belfair and Richard Hartman of Allyn; five daughters, Lori Brown of South Carolina, Darla Gunderson of Port Orchard, Renee Field of Tacoma, Tammy Moody of Allyn; and Terry Cousins of Port Orchard; two stepdaughters, Lori McCorkle of Vancouver, Wash., and Teresa Bivens of Belfair; a brother, Myron of Port Orchard, two sisters, Eunice Phillips and Eleanor Schroeder of Port Orchard; 32 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Olia of Tacoma; and four grandchildren, Richard Hartman Jr., Violet Gunderson, Christopher Gunderson and Steven Cousins.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Allyn Baptist Church, 221 E. Lakeland Drive in Allyn. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
Vincent DePhilippis
Vincent David DePhilippis, 41, of Bremerton died Oct. 13, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Jan 14, 1960, in Bremerton to Richard and Delores (Bush) DePhilippis.
He married
Roberta Gabriel on Aug. 13, 1992, in San Diego, Calif.
He owned Filippi's Pizza in Bremerton for 20 years.
He enjoyed cars and spending time with his children.
Survivors include his mother, Delores Bush; his father, Richard DePhilippis; a son, Vincent DePhillipis; two stepsons, Marc Gabriel and Tony Duenas; a daughter, Lindsay DePhilippis; a stepdaughter, Lisa Duenas; three brothers, Michael Bush, Richard DePhilippis and Steven DePhilippis; four sisters, Michelle Pfluger, Madelene DePhilippis, Laurie DePhilippis, and Cheri DePhilippis; a grandfather, Bernie Wolff; and three grandchildren.
