Al Muller
Former Kitsap County resident Alphonse "Al" Muller, 80, of Mesa, Ariz., died Sept. 7, 2001, in Mesa.
He was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Seattle to William and Eva Muller.
He married
Lois Culver on May 1, 1944, in Bremerton.
He worked for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and the Kitsap County School District for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
He enjoyed music and arts and crafts.
He was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include his wife of Mesa; a son, Larry of Phoenix; a daughter, Linda Nickerson of Port Orchard; a sister, Nellie Short of Shelton; three grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Neighborhood Christian Center in Bremerton. Inurnment will be at Lake View cemetery in Seattle.

Caroline Laufer
Caroline Anne Laufer, 64, of Maple Valley died Sept. 27, 2001, in Maple Valley.
She was born June 23, 1937, in Miniola, Long Island, N.Y., to Paul and Lillian (Emmons) Walbaum.
She married
Paul Laufer on April 10, 1987.
Mrs. Laufer was a consultant for Creative Memories, an avid Beanie Baby collector and sewed hundreds of Christmas stockings each year for Children's Hospital.
She was a member of the New Neighbors Club and Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Steven Herrick of Manassas, Va., Wayne of Puyallup and Terry of Federal Way; five daughters, Debra Conner of Port Orchard, Janerrie O'Donnel of Corvallis, Ore., Becky Whiting of Olympia, Tammy Watkins of Rochester and Paula Cowdel of Cleveland, Tenn.; her stepmother, Hazel Todd of Allyn; four brothers, Raymund Delany of Pennsylvania, William Walbaum of Burien, Robert Walbaum of Belfair and Richard Walbaum of Allyn; a sister, Doris Miller of Anchorage, Alaska; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Price-Helton Funeral Chapel in Auburn. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Maple Valley. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mildred Strawn
Mildred Miriam Strawn, 95, of Bremerton died Sept. 25, 2001, at Mycon Adult Care Home in Bremerton.
She was born Nov. 4, 1905, in Poulsbo to Edward and Anna (Lundquist) Tegstrom. She was educated in Poulsbo.
She married
William H. Strawn in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1967.
She was a homemaker and a caregiver.
Mrs. Strawn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bremerton and Gideon's International.
Survivors include three nieces, Nancy Edmonds of Bremerton, Elaine Woodland of Silverdale and Patricia Patnoe of Honolulu.
A memorial service will be included during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at First Baptist Church of Bremerton.

Dorothy James
Dorothy Louise James, 84, of Bremerton died Sept. 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 25, 1917, in England to Bert and Mary Stringer.
She married
Frederick Ernest James. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Mrs. James was a member of Mount Evelyn Christian Fellowship in Australia.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher of New South Wales, Australia, Stephen of Tasmania, Australia, and Michael of Melbourne, Australia; two daughters, Christine Hart of Bremerton and Robyn Edwards of Melbourne; one brother, Charlie Stringer of England; two sisters, Joan Foreman of Kent, England, and Irene of Australia; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A service will be held at a later date at Mount Evelyn Christian Fellowship. Local arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
William Barnett
William Michael Barnett, 42, of Bremerton died of a heart attack Sept. 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1959, in Fort Belvoir, Va., to William Raymond Barnett and Frances Josephine Walls. He graduated in 1977 from Shannon High School in Tupelo, Miss.
Mr. Barnett served in the Navy from 1982 to 1996, achieving the rank of petty officer first class. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and three Good Conduct Medals.
He later worked with the United States Postal Service.
He married
Alezandra M. Tigranes on Feb. 12, 1988, in Olongapo City, Philippines.
Mr. Barnett enjoyed fishing and playing darts. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; his father of Tupelo; his mother of Daleville, Ala.; two sons, James and Kristian, both of Bremerton; two brothers, Thomas of Chicago and Robert of Tupelo; two sisters, Jennifer Maroney of Orlando, Fla., and Peggy Watts of Daleville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, also at Miller-Woodlawn.
Agnes Correia
Agnes Correia, 75, of Bremerton died of natural causes Sept. 25, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Fairhaven, Mass., to Joseph and Mary Botelho. She graduated from high school in Fairhaven.
She married
John Correia on July 26, 1945, in New Albany, Ind.
Mrs. Correia worked at Castle's Pharmacy and Payless Drug Stores in Bremerton for more 20 years. She retired in 1985.
She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a member of Our Lady Star Of The Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include her husband; one son, John Jr. of Bremerton; many brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Star Of The Sea Catholic Church, with a graveside service following at Ivy Green cemetery in Bremerton.

Roxanne Sanford Dodrill
Former Bremerton resident Roxanne Sanford Dodrill, 41, of Spokane died Sept. 26, 2001, in Spokane.
She was born March 11, 1960, in Long Beach, Calif., to Clyde and Susanne Sanford.
She worked in geriatric care and recently earned her license to open an adult family home in Spokane.
She enjoyed dogs and horses.
Survivors include her fiance, Rip Morgan of Spokane; one son, Jeremy LaBelle of Spokane; her mother, Susanne Huyler now of Spokane; her father and stepmother, Clyde and Patricia Sanford of Bremerton; two brothers, Andy and Gary, both of California; and her grandmother, Helen Sanford of Utah.
A service will be held at a later date in Spokane.
Paul Pfister
Paul A. Pfister Sr., 88, of Port Orchard died of natural causes Sept. 26, 2001, in Lakewood.
He was born July 14, 1913, in Philadelphia to Ludwig and Rose (Peters) Pfister.
He married
Caroline Safranek on Dec. 11, 1942, in New York City. She preceded him in death in 2000.
Mr. Pfister served in the Navy from 1938 to 1946, achieving the rank of petty officer first class.
He was a Teamster for 30 years before retiring.
Mr. Pfister enjoyed playing golf and art. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include three sons, Edward of Coral Gables, Fla., Paul Jr. of Salinas, Calif.; and John of Chico, Calif.; four daughters, Margaret Panico of Federal Way, Rose Marie Lewis of Cloverdale, Ind., Carole Ann Clague of Shasta Lake, Calif. and Regina Marie Orgazan of Port Orchard; one brother, Louis of Cherry Hill, N.J.; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Robert.
A private family memorial will be held at
St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.

Amy Sevedge
Amy E. Sevedge, 96, of Bremerton died of natural causes Sept. 20, 2001, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 13, 1905, in Colville to Perry and Minnie Bowns.
She married
Wallace Sevedge. He preceded her in death in 1958.
Mrs. Sevedge was a medical office worker in Seattle.
She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
