Mildred West-Hall
Mildred G. (Craig) West-Hall, 87, of Bainbridge Island died Sept. 6, 2001, at Island Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 8, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo., to Frank and Geneva (Craig) Mays.
She attended high school in Kansas City and attended college in Chico, Calif.
She married
Harry West in Kansas City. He preceded her in death in 1967.
She was an artist, and enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Mahan of Bainbridge Island; eight grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by four siblings, Larry Craig, Lloyd Craig, Ruby Craig and Olive Craig.
No service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Eunice Stevens
Eunice Martha Stevens, 95, of Poulsbo died Sept. 13, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 12, 1906, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Louis and Naomi (Floyd) Wirth. She graduated in 1928 from Portland Sanitarium and in 1960 from the University of Washington.
She married
Dr. Glenn Earl Stevens Sept. 6, 1930, in Ryderwood. He preceded her in death in 1977.
She was a registered nurse for the Okanogan County Public Health Department, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of the Okanogan Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Louis W. of Olean, N.Y.; two daughters, M. Celia Hoyt of Vancouver, Wash., and Lenore I. Werner of Poulsbo; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barnes Funeral Chapel of Okanogan. Interment
will be at Okanogan City cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
Crystal (Lehman) Morris
Crystal (Lehman) Morris, 76, of Port Orchard died Sept. 10, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Constantine, Mich., to Irvin and Pearl (Buerge) Lehman.
She married
Marvin M. Morris on Feb. 16, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She enjoyed sewing and playing the piano.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin Jr., Albert (Skip) and Jess; four daughters, Jo Porter, Nancy Maroldo, Kristy Billingslea and Becky Pritchard; three brothers, Kenneth, Bob and Ted Lehman; two sisters, Irene Schaffer and Genie (Marigene) Leursen; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Saturday at Laural Grove in Port Townsend. Arrangements were under the direction of Kosec Funeral Home.
J.C. Wittmann
Julius "J.C." Wittmann, 86, of Sequim died Sept. 16, 2001, at Olympic Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sequim.
He was born May 12, 1915, in Lincoln, Neb., to Henry and Emma (Reusch) Wittmann. He attended the University of Nebraska.
He married
Audrey L. Smola on Feb. 19, 1949, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He was an electrical engineer for The Boeing Co., retiring in 1968.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Herbert Alan of Sammamish and Ronald Curtis of Niwot, Colo.; a brother, Richard of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, followed by a memorial service. Interment
will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.
John King
John Thomas King, 86, of Port Orchard died of kidney failure Sept. 11, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born July 25, 1915, on a ranch near Angora, Neb., to John and Dorothy (Wyeth) King. He attended high school in Nebraska.
In 1942, he married
Mayme Perkins in Council, Idaho. She preceded him in death in 1944.
He married
Gladys Roseland in Nevada in 1971. They later divorced.
Mr. King was a rancher in Nebraska. He later owned King's Auto Rebuild in Port Orchard.
He enjoyed playing cards and telling stories while spending time with his family. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his former wife, Gladys; five stepchildren, Elaine Loan of Port Orchard, Layton Roseland of Sonora, Calif., Gale Louch of Port Orchard, Randi Gusa of Renton and Robert Roseland of Twisp; one brother, Bill of Port Orchard; and three sisters, Pat Harms of Port Orchard, Marianna Simms of Mount Vernon and Kathryn Plummer of Boise, Idaho. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Wyeth; and by three sisters, Barbara Clark, Florence Miller and Dorothy King Missman.
Private family viewing is planned, and a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Madrona Manor Senior Apartments, 3900 Madrona Drive SE, in Port Orchard. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Faye Robinson
Faye O. Robinson, 90, of Port Orchard died Sept. 13, 2001, in Port Orchard.
She was born July 25, 1911, in Polk County, Mo., to Raymond and Elsie (Worthan) Hamlin. She graduated from the University of Washington.
She taught school in the South Kitsap School District and in Missouri.
She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by a son, Ben of Bremerton; a daughter, Sue of Port Orchard; a stepdaughter, Ann Payne of Cumming, Ga.; a brother, Olen Hamlin of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George I., in 1962; and a stepson, Victor.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Mayumi Swanson
Mayumi T. Swanson, 71, died Sept. 10, 2001, at her Poulsbo residence.
She was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Yokohama, Japan, to Masaomi and Setsuko (Kamiya) Toba. She received her education in Yokohama.
She married
David K. Swanson in 1953 in Yokohama.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed bird-watching and doing crossword puzzles.
She was a member of the Shinto religion.
Survivors include her husband; a son, David of Kansas; four daughters, Joan Marie Aures of Algonac, Mich., Susan White of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary Ann Pearson of Silverdale and Donna Zienti of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Toshiko Kimura of Tokyo; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.
Dagmar Adams
Dagmar A. Adams, 52, of Suquamish died Sept. 12, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born June 5, 1949, in San Francisco to Olaf and Ida (Legg) Nordin. She attended Mission High School in San Francisco.
She married
Thomas Adams on June 1, 1985, in Suquamish.
She enjoyed playing darts and pool.
She was Baptist.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bill Moritz of Florida and Michael Lazzarini of California; a daughter, Kimberly Lazzarini of California; three sisters, Claudia Kincaid of Orting, Claire Cook of Benecia, Calif., and Eleanor Taylor of Kalispell, Mont.; and one grandchild.
At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, with cremation by Cherry Grove Crematory.

Dick Cardinal
Former Port Orchard resident Richard "Dick" L. Cardinal, 76, of Twisp died Sept. 3, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
He was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to Victor and Jessie (Wheeler) Cardinal. He graduated from high school in Chippewa Falls in 1943.
He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946, achieving the rank of sergeant. He served as a medical lab technician and was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal.
He married
Donna Avery on April 21, 1961, in Port Orchard. She continues to reside in Twisp.
Mr. Cardinal worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 33 years, retiring in July 1980.
He enjoyed farming and raising cows.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William of Seattle and Robert of Yakima; two daughters, Kimberly of Yakima and Tamara of Port Orchard; three brothers, James of Monroe, Jerry and Jack, both of Gig Harbor; three sisters, Marge of Olalla, Dolly of Chippewa Falls and Pat of Eau Claire, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Telford Chapel of the Valley in Wenatchee.

Former Poulsbo resident Lilyan E. Younker, 96, of Kent died of natural causes Sept. 9, 2001, at Valley Medical Center in Renton.
She was born Sept. 1, 1905, in LaCrosse, Wis., to William and Lizzie (Gautsch) Scharpf. She graduated from high school in Tacoma.
She married
Emmett Younker on July 25, 1933. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Her survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Blakeslee of Kent and Jeanette Davidson of Seabeck; one sister, Virginia Laury of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
