Dennis Haugen
Former Bremerton resident Dennis Haugen, 61, of Seattle died of natural causes July 21, 2001, in Seattle.
He was born Dec. 10, 1939, in Brookings, S.D., to Adolph and Hannah (Johnson) Haugen.
He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lombard of Belfair. He was preceded in death by a brother, Monte.
A graveside service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home with inurnment at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Rose Lawrence
Rose V. Lawrence, 76, of Port Orchard died of natural causes July 26, 2001, in Port Orchard.
She was born June 24, 1925, in Maple Grove, Minn., to John and Rose (Gross) Blumer.
She married
Albert John Lawrence on June 22, 1964, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1964.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting.
Her survivors include three stepdaughters; two sisters, Lilian Westen of Fridley, Minn., and Lila Ensley of Seattle. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, John, Virgil, and Lavern; a sister, Evangeline; and a half-brother, George Thorton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene, 4647 Sidney Road SW.
Gene Orsi
Gene Orsi, 87, of Port Ludlow died July 26, 2001, in Port Townsend.
He was born April 25, 1914, in Spokane to Frank and Pia (Luccarini) Orsi.
Mr. Orsi owned Geno's World Food Mart in Spokane after taking over the store from his father. He retired in 1976.
He married
Olga Marconi in Spokane in July 1938.
Mr. Orsi was a lifetime member of the Elks, Italian-American Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Donna Neill of Federal Way and Nancy McGillis of Port Ludlow; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Meri Petrettee.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart St., Poulsbo. Arrangements are under the direction of Kosec Funeral Home in Port Townsend.

John Slate
John Slate Jr., 79, of Bremerton died of natural causes July 26, 2001 at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 18, 1922, in Bremerton to Lyman John and Margaret E. (Hatch) Slate Sr.
He graduated in 1940 from Bremerton High School and attended Bremerton Business College.
He was in the Army Airforce from 1942 to 1945, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He was awarded the AP Theater Ribbon, five Bronze Battle Stars and a victory medal for WWII.
Mr. Slate married
Evelyn Kiehn on Jan. 19, 1947, in Bremerton.
He was an accountant at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for more than 25 years, retiring in 1973.
He enjoyed carpentry and gardening.
He was a member of the Church of Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Steven of Richland; a brother, BIll of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Sharon Kehoe of Bremerton and Vickie Fickas of Aurora, Colo., and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Monday at the Bremerton Church of the Nazarene, 924 Sheridan Road, Bremerton. For the time of service, call Lewis Funeral Chapel at (360) 377-3836, or the church at (360) 377-4432. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Ande Keys
Former Bremerton resident Scott "Ande" Alexander Keys, 24, of Bellingham died July 24, 2001, in Bellingham.
He was born March 30, 1977, in Seattle to Elizabeth Moya. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1995, from Olympic College in 1999 and was attending Western Washington University in Bellingham.
Mr. Keys was a supervisor at Costco in Bellingham. He enjoyed football and working out.
Survivors include his fiancee, Kimberly Kay Eskelson; his mother of Bremerton; a sister, Dee Dee of Cheney; and his grandparents, Robert and Norma Olmstead of Bremerton.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A graveside service follows at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Alyce Carmichael
Alyce Lorraine Carmichael, 78, of Tracyton died of Alzheimer's disease July 26, 2001, in Poulsbo. She was born Dec 5, 1922, in Tacoma to Clarence and Eva (Lindsey) Rakestraw. She was a 1938 graduate of Central Kitsap High School.
She married
Thomas Carmichael on April 9, 1984, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She opened an antique shop which she operated for several decades.
She enjoyed gardening and antique collecting.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack Scott Clogston of Tracyton; a daughter, Diane Elaine Butler of Nanaimo, British Columbia; two stepdaughters, Nancy Carmichael and Caren McGregor; a sister, Wanda Scott of Belfair; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Clogston, in 1967; and a sister, Bonnie Mathew.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no memorial service.

Myrna Lovitt
Myrna V. Lovitt, 63, of Bremerton died of natural causes July 24, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Idaho Springs, Colo., to Anthony and Grace (Schumate) Guymon.
She enjoyed being a caregiver in her neighborhood. She was Christian.
Survivors include four sons; Rick and Ed Lovitt, and Steve Shank, all of Bremerton, and Mike Lovitt of Poulsbo; a daughter, Sandra of Bremerton; a brother, Monty Guymon of Alaska; two sisters, Diane of St. Louis and Sandy Baumbartner of Oregon; and three grandchildren.
Private services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Jan Gee
Jennett "Jan" M. Gee, 77, of Bremerton died of cancer, July 25, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 14, 1923, in Onalaska to Walter and Marjorie (Brown) Hughes. She graduated in 1941 from Tillamook High School in Tillamook, Ore., and attended Olympic College.
She worked for Kitsap Physician's Service and Kitsap County prior to retiring.
She enjoyed bowling and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Nona Napper of Tucson; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Belden "Bud" Hughes.
A memorial service will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Canterbury Manor. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Ronald Ralliner-Robiner
Ronald E. Ralliner-Robiner, 58, of Port Orchard and formerly of Olympia died of natural causes July 14, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Indianapolis to Robert and Mildred (Freeman) Robiner. He was educated in California, graduating from Los Angeles High School and attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Mr. Ralliner-Robiner served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He was an administrative assistant for 15 years before retiring in 1998, due to disability.
He enjoyed collecting eagles and nurturing Bonsai trees.
Survivors include his companion, Rosalie Haile of Poulsbo; and a sister, Patricia Lou Joseph of Corona, Calif.; and seven step-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Aug 3 at Tahoma National cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.
Stephen Gross
Stephen W. Gross, 50, of Seabeck died July 22, 2001, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1951, in Bremerton to Howard and Ardus Gross. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School and Olympic College. He also completed an apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Gross was a pipe welder on the Naval Submarine Base Bangor for 14 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Paulsen of Seabeck; his mother of Chico; a son, Jason of Sacramento, Calif.; a stepson, Curt Paulsen of Seabeck; a daughter, Shannon Leeman of Seabeck; a stepdaughter, Jodi Paulsen of Seabeck; three brothers, Mike and Gary, both of Las Vegas, and Don of Bremerton; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Crosby Chapel, 16404 NW Church Road in Seabeck. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Doris Bradbury-Mott
Doris Bradbury-Mott, 82, of Bremerton died of cancer July 21, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born May 20, 1919, in Vermilion, Alberta, Canada, to Stephen and Elsie Loughlin. She received nurse's training at the University of California at Los Angeles.
She served in the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service during World War II.
She married
Edmund Mills in 1945. They were later divorced.
She married
Robert Bradbury in Los Angeles in November 1948. He preceded her in death in 1978.
She married
Barney Mott in August 1986 in Bremerton.
She was a secretary with the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Apprentice School from 1959 until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of the Elks and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband; three stepdaughters, Shirley Williams of Norman, Okla., Linda Edwards of Sacramento, Calif., and Shirley Noonan of Bremerton; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
At her request, no service will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
