Bonnie Holt
Bonnie M. Holt, 89, of Bremerton died of pneumonia and Parkinson's disease, July 3, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born March 3, 1912, in Nevada, Iowa, to Richard and Cathryn (Fahey) Nickeson.
She married
Elmer W. Holt on Jan. 8, 1932, in Deer Lodge, Mont. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of Hill Crest Assembly of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie A. Bisceglia of Vancouver, Wash., and Cathy E. Ford of Silverdale; a brother, Richard D. Nickeson also of Vancouver; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lola Fay.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. July 16, 2001, at Silverdale Lutheran Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn cemetery, interment will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Tina (Jensen) Willis
Tina Willis, 40, of Port Orchard died of a heart attack July 4, 2001, at home.
She was born July 6, 1960, in Portsmouth, Va., to Larry and Darlene (Heath) Jensen. She attended North Mason schools and graduated in 1979 from South Kitsap High School.
She married
Paul Willis on May 1, 1984, in Spring Valley, Calif.
She was the assistant manager for Cash and Dash in Gorst before joining the new Albertson's in Port Orchard.
She enjoyed animals and painting. She attended the Family Worship Center in Gorst.
Survivors include her mother, Darlene McCay of Port Orchard; her father, Larry Jensen of Bremerton; two sons, Michael Smith and Martin Willis of Port Orchard; a daughter, Megan Willis of Port Orchard; a sister, Theresa Herrington of Belfair; and her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Heath of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Jensen Jr.
A memorial service is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. July 11, 2001, at 13898 Creek View Dr. S. W., in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Mayree Elder
Former Bremerton resident, Mayree Lucinda Elder, 87, of Corvallis, Ore., died July 5, 2001, at Tierra Rose Care Center in Salem, Ore.
She was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Bitter, Ore., to Frank and Jennie (Jayne) Elder. She graduated from La Grande High School in La Grande, Ore., in 1929, at the age of 16.
She worked for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for several years.
She enjoyed bingo and traveling.
Survivors include three nephews, Bill Elder of Portland, John Elder of Eugene and Doug Ward of Mesa, Ariz.; and two nieces, Shirley Blake of Salem and Dorotha Barratt-Knecht of Corvallis. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, George and Maurice Elder; and three sisters, Lucille Wilson, Shirley Elder and Elizabeth Ward.
Private services will be held July 9, 2001, in Heppner, Ore. Arrangements are under the direction of McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis.
Sharon Sanville
Sharon L. Sanville, 65, of Poulsbo died of lung cancer June 23, 2001, in Poulsbo.
She was born June 13, 1936, in Weed, Calif., to Ray and Marian (Lusk) Welch. She attended school in California, graduating in 1954.
She was a medical transcriptionist for 26 years, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include her mother, Marian Jemin of Modesto, Calif.; a son, Robert of Suquamish; a daughter, Laura McGrath of Bellevue; and a sister, Patricia Cousert of Modesto.
A private service will be held at Seabold cemetery on Bainbridge Island.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
Robert Peterson
Robert Anthony Peterson, 67, of Bremerton died of cancer July 3, 2001, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.
He was born March 18, 1934, in Emmett, Idaho, to William and Margaret (Truman) Peterson.
He graduated in 1952 from Emmett High School and in 1956 from the University of Idaho. He also earned his master's degree from Naval War College in Newport, R.I.
He served in the Navy from 1957 to 1983, achieving the rank of captain. He earned the Legion of Merit and Navy Achievement Medal.
He married
Esther McDonald in June 1959 in Long Beach, Calif.
He enjoyed playing golf and cycling, and was a member of Lincoln Avenue Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tony of San Francisco; and a daughter, Christine Peterson of San Diego.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Avenue Bible Church in Bremerton. Cremation is by Cherry Grove Memorial Park. An inurnment service with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. July 20 at Fort Rosecrans National cemetery in San Diego. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Gordon Millikan
Gordon Wayne Millikan, 80, of Bremerton died July 1, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1921, in Seattle to Wyatt and Gladys (Barnhart) Millikan. He graduated in 1939 from Bremerton High School and attended Olympic College. He graduated in 1943 from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard apprentice program.
He married
Marcella "Marcie" Davidson on March 1, 1941, in Bremerton.
He retired in 1974 after 33 years as a machinist and computer programmer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He enjoyed model airplanes and spending time with family and friends.
He was a Christian.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Harrison of Bremerton and Donna Rightenour of Woodinville; two brothers, Forrest of Enid, Okla., and David of Colorado; three sisters, Eileen Chandler of Renton, Carol Deglow of Salem, Ore., and Joan Owens of Dallas, Ore.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Aletha "Dot" Egan.
At his request, no service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.

Glenn E. Hagen
Glenn E. Hagen, 82, of Bremerton died of natural causes July 2, 2001 in Bremerton.
He was born Aug. 12, 1918, to Glenn and Doris (Peabody) Pope in Seattle.
Mr. Hagen graduated from Bremerton High School and later graduated from the University of Washington in 1943.
He was a World War II veteran.
He also was a research scientist with NASA, Williams Oil, Bendix and Northrup.
His enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Glenn Jr. of Suquamish; three daughters, Pam Himes and Judy Averill, both of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Jaquelyn Van Aucken of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday night. Those wishing to attend can call the family for information.
Bernard T. Tabafunda
Bernard T. Tabafunda, 93, of Port Orchard died July 3, 2001, in Ridgemont Terrace.
He was born Nov. 6, 1907, in the Philippines to Pantaleon and Adora (Tarapi) Tabafunda.
He was educated in the Philippines.
Mr. Tabafunda moved to Silverdale in 1945. He married
Corazon Florendo on Feb. 17, 1962, in the Philippines.
He was a foreman at a fish cannery in Alaska for 30 years. He also was residential gardener in Kitsap County, retiring in 1989.
Mr. Tabafunda was the Grand Master of the Acacia Lodge No. 57 of Bremerton, and was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Edgar of Port Orchard; a daughter, Nora of Port Orchard; one grandchild; a brother, Bonifacio, and a sister, Petra, both in the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolina.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Rill Chapel, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
A mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
Interment will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Frank William Wilson
Frank William Wilson, 75, of Port Orchard died following a long illness July 2, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Pillager, Minn., to Henry Albert and Florence Evelyn (Gelvin) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson married
Leatha (Parker) Speed Oct. 10, 1959 in Port Orchard.
He served in the Navy and was discharged with a disability. He also worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as an electrician, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife; two stepsons, Vernell Westover of Quilcene and Lee Speed of Silverdale; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Smith of Chimacum; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva.
Visitation will be at noon today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1550 Hoover SE in Port Orchard. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
Interment will be at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.
Dr. Rafique Kassim
Rafique Kassim, M.D., 55, of Poulsbo died of myocardial infarction May 16, 2001, in Poulsbo.
He was born April 3, 1946, in Bombay, India, to Dr. A.M. and Khatija Kassim. He graduated in 1965 from St. Patrick's School and in 1970 from Dow Medical College, both in Karachi, Pakistan.
He served in the Navy from 1970 to 1985, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander.
He worked in a medical practice in Silverdale.
Dr. Kassim enjoyed reading and travel. He was a Muslim.
Survivors include his mother of Karachi; a daughter, Summer of California; and a sister, Shehnaz of Karachi. He was preceded in death by a brother, Yusuf.
Interment is at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of House of Mercy in Kent.
