Endro Antonelli
Endro Antonelli, 85, of Bremerton died June 27, 2001, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Dec. 12, 1915, in Richmond, Va., to John and Eda (Massotti) Antonelli. He was educated in Richmond.
Mr. Antonelli served in the Navy for 11 years. He later worked for 37 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring as a rigger loft supervisor.
He married Florence Gjertson on Aug. 26, 1966, in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tom and John, both of Oregon, Mark Johnson of Bremerton and Steve Halle of Whidbey Island; a daughter, Dianne Higgins of Plymouth, Minn.; two sisters, Yola Catarsi of Richmond and Carmen Martino of Buena Park, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
At the family's request, no service will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Josephine McKenzie
Josephine O. McKenzie, 97, of Poulsbo died June 26, 2001, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 18, 1903, in Bear Butte, S.D., to Joseph and Agnes (Thiebes) Odekoven.
She married William McKenzie on Sept. 15, 1924, in Gillette, Wyo. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. McKenzie was a member of the Women of the Moose, the American Legion Auxiliary of Billings, Mont., and Saint Patrick's Cathedral and Altar Society in Billings.
Survivors include a son, William of Silverdale; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Robert McKenzie; 13 brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral service will be July 7 in Billings at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Arrangements are under the direction of Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.
Memorial donations may be made to Martha and Mary Health Care Center, P.O. Box 127, Poulsbo, WA 98370.

Robert Dumont
Robert F. Dumont, 75, of Bremerton died June 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Aurora, Ill. He graduated from Olympic College.
He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1964, achieving the rank of chief petty officer.
He married Takeko Ishimura on Dec. 14, 1953, in Yokohama, Japan.
He was a machinist.
He was a member of the Cryptological Association and the McDonald's Coffee Club.
He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael J. and Paul J., both of Bremerton; a daughter, Patricia A. Massie, of Bremerton; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Church. Inurnment will be at Mount Tahoma National cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Carrol Kennedy
Carrol N. Kennedy, 73, of Belfair died of a heart attack June 18, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Ontario, Ore., to Victor and Fern Dubarry.
Survivors include her husband, Bud; three stepsons, Dan, John and Mike, all of Belfair; three daughters, Sheila Retherford of Eatonville, Susan Brock of Tacoma and Marilyn Maar of Seattle; three stepdaughters, Kathy McFarland, Sally Stephans and Tammy Thompson, all of Belfair; a brother, Farlon Dubarry of Marysville; a sister, Faye Murdock of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Twin Firs cemetery. A memorial service will follow at House of Prayer Church, 23495 Highway 3, in Belfair.
Memorial donations may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Washington Chapter, 192 Nickerson St., Ste. 100, Seattle, WA 98109.

Major John Collier
John William Collier, Jr., 80, of Bremerton died June 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Charleston, S.C., to Lt. John and Juanita (McNeely) Collier. He graduated in 1938 from Bremerton High School. He attended the United States Naval Academy, the University of California and graduated in 1975 from the University of Washington.
He served in the Marines from 1941, retiring as a Major in 1963.
He also worked at The Boeing Co.
He enjoyed flying and outdoor activities.
He is survived by a brother, Capt. James R. Collier of Bremerton.
A private memorial service is planned. Internment will be at Arlington National cemetery in Washington, D.C.

Andrew Maier
Andrew Maier, 88, of Port Orchard died June 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Jan. 28, 1913, in Eureka, S.D. He was educated in South Dakota.
He served in the Army from 1934 to 1938.
He was a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 28 years. He later was a building inspector for the City of Port Orchard for years.
He enjoyed gardening and horseshoe pitching. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie (Hinsz) Maier of Port Orchard; two sons, Dale and Steve, both of Port Orchard; three daughters, Darlean Hanner of Bellevue, Audrey Samuelson of Hansville and Beverly Godfrey of Silverdale; two brothers, Gottheilf of Jamestown, N.D., and Alfred of Austin, Texas; a sister, Hildegard Baumann of Ashley, N.D.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Interment icon will be at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.

Sherry May
Sherry May, 53, of San Diego died of cancer June 11, 2001, in San Diego.
She was born in Seattle to Raymond and Opal Kelly. She graduated in 1966 from Amador High School in Pleasanton, Calif.
She married John May in Chula Vista, Calif., on Feb. 7, 1973.
She was a business associate for 29 years at Children's Hospital in San Diego.
She enjoyed animals. She was a member of TierraSanta Southern Baptist Church in San Diego.
Survivors include her husband of San Diego; her parents of Port Orchard; a son Robert Van Meter Jr. of Bremerton; three brothers, Raymond Kelly III of Port Orchard, Sean Kelly of Los Angeles and twin brother, Steven Kelly of Bremerton; and a sister, Shannon Kelly of Highland, Calif.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Sherry May to the cancer organization of the donor's choice.

Betty-Ann
Kehaulani Lovaas
Betty-Ann Kehaulani Lovaas, 53, of Bremerton died of cancer June 23, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 31, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Thomas and Florence Miller. She attended Yokahama High School in Japan.
She was a beautician for 10 years, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy of Port Orchard and Christen James of South Bend, Ind.; three brothers Edward Lee of Wahiqwa, Hawaii, William Miller of Silverdale and Tom Miller of Poulsbo; and one granddaughter.
A memorial will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Illahee State Park.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jim Irish
James C. "Jim" Irish, 74, of Port Orchard died June 26, 2001, at home.
He was born July 19, 1926, in Bismark, N.D., to Casper and Gertrude (Jennings) Irish. He graduated in 1946 from Puyallup High School
He served in the Army from 1944 to 1946. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal, Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Victory Medal.
He married Dorothy Simpson on Jan. 28, 1966, in Port Orchard.
He taught welding at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 33 years.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, John Simpson of Olympia, Richard Simpson of Finley N.D., and Gordon Slava of Bremerton; three daughters, Wanda Rollman of Tumwater, Opeal Bame of Port Orchard and Lark Vincent of Chelan; seven brothers; one sister; 25 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Raymond Tucker
Raymond G. Tucker, 60,
of Bremerton died of liver cancer June 11, 2001, in Portland, Ore.
He was born Aug. 26, 1940 in Wallace, Idaho, to Loren and Marie (Fisher) Tucker. He graduated in 1958 from Benson High School in Portland.
He served in the Navy as an electrician for more than 20 years.
He enjoyed target shooting.
Survivors include two sisters, Lorenlee Nelson and Barbara Fagerberg, both of Portland.
A memorial service will be held in Portland.

Carl Rhodes
Carl E. "Dusty" Rhodes Jr., 76, of Bremerton died of cancer June 24, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1924, in Shelbina, Mo., to Carl and Mabel (Minor) Rhodes.
Mr. Rhodes served in the Marine Corps from 1943 to 1953 as a demolition specialist. He was awarded the Purple Heart with gold star and various Asiatic theater ribbons.
He was an ordinance specialist to engineering, designer and engineer scientist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He retired in 1973.
He was a member of the Lions Club and was active in Toys for Tots.
He attended Central Valley Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons, Carl F. "Rusty" of Ava, Mo., Terry of Dayton, Ohio, and David Crist of Dayton; four daughters, Carlene Schleben of Oxnard, Calif., Renee Cain of Cottonwood, Calif., Jeri Gavette of Ava, Mo., and Shari Boudreau of San Diego; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas; and a sister, Mary Louise Roberts.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Valley Christian Fellowship, 6869 Central Valley Road, in Bremerton. Inurnment with full military honors will be at Tahoma National cemetery.
