Alda Nosler
Alda Lorene Nosler, 88, of Poulsbo died June 21, 2001, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1912, in Rickreal, Ore., to Willard and Clara (Berry) Sloan. She graduated from Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Ore.
She married
Elwyn Nosler on June 8, 1937, in Coquille, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Nosler was a church secretary with West Seattle Christian Church from 1960 until her retirement in 1976.
She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a member of Kingston Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Harper of Kingston and Carol Nosler of Federal Way; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. July 7 at Kingston Christian Church with private burial at Washington Memorial Park in Sea-Tac. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.

Cmdr. Glenn Ritchey
Commander Glenn W. Ritchey, 92, of Silverdale died of natural causes in Poulso June 20, 2001.
He was born March 19, 1909, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Ernest and Nanny (Johnson) Ritchey. Prior to World War II, he graduated from RCA Radio School.
He married
Jean Sater on April 25, 1959, in Denver.
He served in the Navy from 1938 to 1960, retiring as a commander. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal and the Asiatic Defense Service Medal.
He was a ham radio operator with the Amateur Radio Relay League and was a member of the Retired Officer's Association.
Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Inez Barker of Ocala, Fla. and Helen Lambert of Roanoke, Va. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Chevallard and Bernice Killinger, and by two brothers, Ernest Mack Ritchey and Emory Eugene Ritchey.
At his request, no service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Kikuyo Takayoshi
Kikuyo Tokuhisa Takayoshi, 93, died June 19, 2001, in Seattle.
She was born Nov. 11, 1907, in Port Blakely at Nagaya below the hillside Japanese village on Bainbridge Island. She attended the first Port Blakely School.
She continued her education in Japan and married
Henry Takayoshi after she returned.
Mrs. Takayoshi and her family were interned during World War II at Camp Manzanar, Calif., and later at Camp Minidoka, Idaho.
She enjoyed Bainbridge Island and visited Blakely cemetery on Memorial Days.
Survivors include a son, Ben; three daughters, Mickey Mieko Hada and Shizue "Suzie" Sumita, both of Seattle, and Kiyoko "Theresa" Sakima of Anderson, Calif.; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A vigil was held Friday at a Seattle Dojo, and a memorial service was Saturday. Inurnment will be at Evergreen-Washelli in Seattle.

Joy Sundstrom
Juanita "Joy" Sundstrom, 74, of Manchester died June 22, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 1, 1927, in Quitaque, Texas, to Floyd and Luta (Lee) Smith.
On March 11, 1966, she married
William Sundstrom in Seattle.
Mrs. Sundstrom was a waitress at many local establishments.
She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Emblem Club of the Elks in Bellingham.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Ron and Don Smith, both of Bremerton, Mike Smith of Sunnyslope and Troy Smith of Boise, Idaho; a stepson, Stephen Sundstrom of Bremerton; a stepdaughter, Toni Probert of Shelton; five brothers, Billy Smith of California, Wayne Smith of Seattle, Troy Smith of Houston, Texas; Howard Smith of McLean, Texas, and David Smith of Dallas, Texas; a sister Elva Wells of Amarillo, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rill Chapel with inurnment at Sunset Lane cemetery.

Viola Wilson
Viola M. Wilson, 77, of Bremerton died of cancer June 15, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Aberdeen, S.D., to John and Cathryn (Daschel) Prouse. She was educated in Aberdeen, S.D.
She served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946.
She married
Guy Wilson on Jan. 4, 1947.
She worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 31 years, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jim of Spokane; a daughter, Lori Crinean of Bremerton; a brother, John Prouse; three sisters, Genevieve Markus of Fresno, Calif., Irene Bryant of Vancouver, Wash., and Arlys Wuitschick; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Leo, Richard and Donald; and two sisters, Elizabeth Tappe and Mary Ann Robinson.
A funeral service was held Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Jean Fazendine
Esther "Jean" Fazendine, 85, of Poulsbo died June 18, 2001, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Herington, Kan., to Joseph and Ona (McKnight) Earp. She attended West Fork High School in West Fork, Ark.
She married
Arthur Fazendine in Tulsa, Okla., in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1960.
Mrs. Fazendine was a secretary, last working for J.K. Gill Co. at Kitsap Mall.
She enjoyed sewing and was a former member of the Eagles in Seattle. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Thomas of Sperry, Okla., a daughter, Norma Olson of Bremerton; a brother, Joseph Earp of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Julia Howard and Mildred Earp, both of West Fork; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation at Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo.
Frances Haag
Frances E. Haag, 76, of Kingston died June 17, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born June 3, 1925, in Egbert, Wyo., to Charles and Arvilla (Hobbs) Grant. She attended high school in Colorado and graduated from Phoenix Community College in Phoenix, Ariz.
She married
Virgil Haag on June 7, 1942, in Wagner, Okla.
Mrs. Haag was a government supervisor for the state of Arizona.
She enjoyed sewing and traveling. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Steven of Kingston; two daughters, Patricia Bogue of Santa Ana, Calif. and Victoria Sky of Bisbee, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Grant.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, also at The Stone Chapel.
Daniel Pearson
Daniel Jay Pearson, 46, of Port Orchard died of cancer June 18, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1954, in Port Huron, Mich., to Robert and Mary Jane (Densmore) Pearson. He graduated in 1972 from St. Anthony Catholic High School in Maui, Hawaii, and attended Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Mich.
He married
Jill Sokolowski on March 31, 1978, in Battle Creek.
Mr. Pearson was a residential construction carpenter in Port Orchard. He previously had been a route salesman for Coca-Cola in Michigan.
He enjoyed sailing and playing golf. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include his wife; his father and stepmother, Robert and Kathleen (Calnan) Pearson of Hardy, Ark.; a son, Drew of Port Orchard; two daughters, Lani and Haley, both of Port Orchard; three brothers, Rob of Port Orchard, Martin of Hardy, and Michael of Arkansas; five sisters, Kellie Noland of Georgia, Karen of Seattle, Shevawn of California, and Mary and Rose, both of Hardy; and his maternal grandmother, Sally Batdorf of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with interment at Fraola cemetery in Olalla.

Priscilla Devin
Priscilla D. Devin, 79, of Bremerton died June 19, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born April 18, 1922, in Seattle to James and Isabell (Correia) Dean. She graduated in 1940 from Lincoln High School in Seattle, in 1967 from Olympic College and in 1978 from Central Washington University.
She married
William Devin on Feb. 14, 1942, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Devin was a secretary and a teacher.
She enjoyed mountaineering and traveling. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include two sons, David of Gig Harbor and James of Portsmouth, R.I.; three daughters, Sally of Brooklyn, N.Y., Christina Hargis of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Beth Marsau of Ferndale; a sister, Joy Sullivan of Sebastopol, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Dean.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. July 19 at Memorial Lutheran Church, with private family inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Nina Christensen
Nina Marie Christensen, 98, of Bremerton died June 20, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Jan. 16, 1903, in Bernard, Kan.

Thomas Christensen.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Fred Brinkman of Indiana; three daughters, Virginia Beck of Modesto, Calif., Jackie Bright of Bremerton and Vera Holte of Louisiana; and two sisters, Goldie Slade of Bremerton and Betty Coone of Alberta, Canada.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Harrison Hospital.
Thomas Blackmore
Thomas O. Blackmore Sr., 59, of Silverdale died June 13, 2001, in Silverdale.
He was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Beeville, Texas, to Norman Hill and Frances (Holland) Blackmore. He was a graduate of Campbell High School in Campbell, Calif., Palomar Junior College and City University.
He married
Sarah Allender on Jan. 4, 1963, in Burlingame, Calif.
He served in the Navy from 1960 to 1990, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark of Portland, Ore., and Matthew of Poulsbo; a daughter, Heather of Poulsbo; a brother, Dennis of Virginia Beach, Va.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas, in 1994.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Episcopal Church in Kingston. Cremation is by Cherry Grove Crematory. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
