Warren Moore
Warren B. Moore, 73, of Seabeck died of cancer May 16, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born March 7, 1928, in Seattle to Glen and Beatrice Moore. He graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle.
He served in the Merchant Marines from 1941 to 1946.
He married
Carole Clements on Jan. 14, 1949, in Seattle. They later divorced.
He worked for the Seattle Fire Department for five years, then became a sergeant for the Seattle Police Department, serving 19 years before retiring in 1972.
He enjoyed fly fishing and model airplanes.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne of Seabeck and Glen of Seattle; a daughter, Lynn Anderson of Seabeck; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous of Kitsap County.
James Hutchins
James Leslie Hutchins, 81, of Silverdale died May 29, 2001, in Silverdale.
He was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Tacoma to Lawrence and Mable (Gleason) Hutchins. He was a 1938 graduate of Port Washington Bay High School in Silverdale. He attended the University of Washington.
He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a machinist and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
He managed two retail flooring stores for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He enjoyed music and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include a son, Jim of Bothell; a brother, Lawrence of Bremerton; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. June 13 at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Hunt Percival
Hunt Hinsdill Percival, 53, of Bainbridge Island died of a heart attack June 1, 2001, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Tuscon, Ariz., to Charles and Dolly (George) Percival. He graduated in 1966 from Bainbridge Island High School and attended South Seattle Community College.
He served in the Air Force as a staff sergeant from 1966 to 1970.
He was a mechanic for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed bowling, hydro and NASCAR races. He was Episcopalien.
Survivors include a son, Charles of Seattle; a daughter, Heidi Southwick of Seattle; a sister, Charlene of Bainbridge Island; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia.
A memorial service is planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday at St. Barnabas Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island.
Frank Bonnett
Frank E. Bonnett, 81, of Bremerton died of respiratory failure June 2, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Clarksburg, W.Va., to Frank and Lena Alma (Carnes) Bonnett. He was a 1938 graduate of Clarksburg High School.
He served in the Air Force from 1941 to 1952 as a first sergeant.
He married
Shirley Moore on Oct. 5, 1986, in Bremerton.
Following his military service, he worked for 25 years at Boeing, retiring in 1984.
He enjoyed amateur radio and flying model airplanes.
He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; sons, John of Keys West, Ga., David of New York, Rick of Wichita; stepsons, Anthony (Tony) Moore of Auburn, Alvin Turner, Duane Moore and Andre Moore; stepdaughters, Deborah Jackson of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Adside of Vancouver, Wash., Tamara Moore of Kent and Tracey Moore of Vancouver. He was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Bonnett.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment
will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
Ellen Jones
Ellen Jones, 85, of Bremerton died June 5, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Oct. 5, 1915, in New Bedford, Mass., to Percy and Ellen (Regan) Whitworth. She graduated in 1933 from Fairhaven High School in Fairhaven, Mass.
She served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a yeoman first class.
She married
Charles Jones on Dec. 28, 1946, in Fairhaven.
She worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a secretary in the comptroller department, retiring after 17 years of service.
She enjoyed traveling in her motor home and building and decorating doll houses.
She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Michael of Anacortes, Glen of Richland, John of Port Orchard and Daniel of Portland; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Star of the Sea. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Bonnie Kuberka
Bonnie M. Kuberka, 77, of Port Orchard died May 29, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace.
She was born March 4, 1924, in Middletown, Ohio, to Raymond and Ada (Willis) Butterfield.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include 11 children; and a brother, Raymond Butterfield of Middletown. She was preceded in death by a son.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
Sherry Tranilla
Sheryl Lynn "Sherry" Tranilla, 51, of Bremerton died June 4, 2001, at Madigan Army Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 14, 1950, in Olympia.
She married
Tom Tranilla in Bremerton.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was Lutheran.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Scott of Bremerton; a daughter, Shonda Wahrmund of Springfield, Ore.; a sister, Holly Graves of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Godfrey.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Jewel Ashlock
Former Bremerton resident Jewel B. Ashlock, 88, of Tacoma died of congestive heart failure May 29, 2001, at Heartwood Care Center.
She was born June 5, 1912, in Sequoyah, Okla., to William and Myrtle (Atwood) Petree.
She married
Glover Albert Ashlock on Dec. 1, 1927, in Micawber, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Ashlock was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two sons, Leon of Port Orchard and Lowell of Tacoma; four daughters, Marie Cool of Puyallup, Carletta Salter of Seattle, Irene Wilkinson of Fresno, Calif., and Wilma Munson of Paramount, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Long of Cuthbert, Ga.; and an infant son, Jamsey.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. June 16 at New Life Pentecostal Church. Interment
will be at Fraola cemetery in Olalla. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation & Burial Society.

Loretta Greer
Loretta B. (Lovelace) Greer, 64, of Bremerton died of cancer May 30, 2001, at home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Castle Rock to Leslie and Doris (Peters) Lovelace. She graduated from high school in Seattle in 1954.
She enjoyed gardening and was a Naval history buff. She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include two sons, Harry of Portland, Ore., and Scott of Tempe, Ariz.; three daughters, Helen Ford of Spokane, Marlys Greer of Portland and Laura Greer of Seattle; two brothers, Eugene Dally of Seattle and Bruce Lovelace of Coos Bay; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Greer; and a sister, Jeanette Owens.
A memorial service was held Monday at Tuell-McKee in Bremerton.
Jess Rice
Jess Rice, 82, of Port Orchard died May 31, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace.
He was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Chicago.
He volunteered for social service organizations, most recently Helpline and Easter Seals in Kitsap County, for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Auttie Faulkner.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 7968 Finch Road NE on Bainbridge Island.

Pearl Tillberg
Pearl Tillberg, 92, of Wenatchee died May 31, 2001, at Parkside Care Center in Wenatchee.
She was born Nov. 20, 1908, in Troy, Idaho.
She was a custodian for an elementary and junior high school.
She is survived by a daughter, Karin Snider of Wenatchee; and a grandchild.
Inurnment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee.
Miranda Stutzman
Miranda Ann Stutzman, 22 months, of Ephrata died from complications of heart surgery May 24, 2001, at Children's Hospital in Seattle.
She was born July 22, 1999, at the University of Washington Medical Center, to Mike Stutzman and Erin (Olsen) Wallace.
She enjoyed being a big sister to Brook Ann.
Survivors include her parents; a sister, Brook Ann; grandparents, Darryl and Janice Piercy of Bremerton and Jim and Pat Stutzman of Ephrata.
A memorial picnic will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at a park in Ephrata.
