Roy Manning
Roy Corey Manning, 47, of Silverdale died May 16, 2001, of a heart attack at his home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1954, in Garrison, N.D., to Dallas and Marion (Carlson) Manning. He graduated from high school in California and attended Olympic College for three years.
He married
Maria Salome on Dec. 23, 1977, in Manila, Philippines.
Mr. Manning served in the Navy for 20 years, achieving the rank of chief boatswain's mate. He received the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon with Bronze Star and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.
He had worked at the Poulsbo Lube Shop and at the Francis Haddon Morgan Center in Bremerton.
Mr. Manning enjoyed fishing and playing racquetball. He was a member of the Roman Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brendan and Tristen, both of Silverdale; and two brothers, Spike and Mark, both of Virginia.
Visitation is scheduled for 1 to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation is under the direction of Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo.
Annie Weyand
Annie Lorraine Weyand, 78, of Bremerton died of cancer May 16, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Yakima to Vernard and Versa (Ayers) Wickenberg. She graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1941.
She married
Carl Richard Weyand on Dec. 20, 1941, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Weyand was a homemaker and had been a relief rural route carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years.
She was a member of the Elks 1181 Travel and Fun Club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting for her family.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Tom of Bremerton; two daughters, Nancy Frender of Silverdale and Susan Ross of The Dalles, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Wickenberg, and a sister, Dona Swanlund.
Visitation is at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service in Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Gary Foraker
Former Bremerton resident Gary Richard Foraker, 47, of Tacoma died of a heart attack May 9, 2001, at his home.
He was born Aug. 13, 1953, in Bremerton to Richard and Bernice Foraker. He graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1972.
Mr. Foraker served in the Air Force from 1972 to 1974.
He enjoyed fishing and playing darts.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; his mother of Bremerton; his father of Puyallup; two sons, Brian and Shawn, both of Tacoma; a brother, Darrell of Everett; three sisters, Sandy Foraker of Bothell and Sharon Schneidler and Karen Scheer, both of Bremerton; and two grandchildren.
Services are private.
James Abney
James Abney, 65, of Port Orchard died May 12, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born July 18, 1935, in Detroit. He graduated from Cranbrook Prep School in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and from Duke University in North Carolina.
He and his wife, Rose, were married
on Oct. 13, 1979, in Evergreen, Colo.
Mr. Abney served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1966, achieving the rank of captain.
He was a pilot with Continental Airlines from 1966 to 1985. From 1985 to 1995, he worked for the Airline Pilots Association as a contract negotiator.
He enjoyed archeology and sailing.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg of New York; three daughters, Troy Abney of Riverside, Calif., Stacey Benson of Aurora, Colo., and Susan Benson of Denver; and six grandchildren.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Robby Ivan Cable
Robby Ivan Cable, eight months, of Port Orchard died May 14, 2001, at Mary Bridge Hospital in Tacoma.
He was born Aug. 16, 2000, at Harrison Silverdale, to George and Andrea (Mason) Cable.
Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Cheyenne Mason and Hannah Cable, both of Port Orchard, and Breanna Barnaby of Bremerton; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Coral Mason of Silverdale and Dave and Alisha Mattson of Poulsbo; his paternal grandfather, Robert Cable of Hawaii; his paternal grandmother, Pamela Hazzinsaw of Michigan; his paternal great-grandparents, George and Anita Cable of Hawaii; and his maternal great-grandmother, Carol Houghtelling of Oregon.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo.
Norton Atteridge
Former Poulsbo and Bremerton resident Norton H. Atteridge, 84, of Olympia died May 16, 2001, of natural causes at Puget Sound Healthcare in Olympia.
He was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Herbert and Mildred (Thompson) Atteridge.
He married
Eleanor Heiting on June 28, 1937, in Seattle.
Mr. Atteridge served in the Army from 1945 to 1947, achieving the rank of first sergeant.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1940 until his retirement in 1970.
Mr. Atteridge enjoyed wintering in Arizona and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Tumwater; a son, Dr. Sean Atteridge of Tumwater; a daughter, Peggy Russell of Nalcrest, Fla.; a brother, Robert of Puyallup; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at the family home. Arrangements are under the direction of Mills & Mills Funeral Directors in Olympia.
Sherry Loll
Sherry Loll, 57, died May 12, 2001, at her Bremerton residence.
She was born July 16, 1943, in Bremerton to Jesse and Emma (Lakey) Petty.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo and crafts.
She was a Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Bremerton; two daughters, Crystal Turner of Bremerton and Tracy Kemnitz of Eagle Grove, Iowa; four brothers; nine sisters; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Clanton Jr.
No service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation by Cherry Grove Crematory.
Pat Burke
Bernice Patricia "Pat" Burke, 80, of Bremerton died of a cardiac arrest May 8, 2001, at Cypress Gardens.
She was born July 16, 1920, in Portland to Thomas and Bernice Burke. She graduated in 1936 from St. Theresa's High School in Florida, and attended Haddock's Business School in Jacksonville, Fla.
She worked for the Naval Supply Center of Puget Sound for 20 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Eagles Lodge 192. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her former husband, Edward Zembal of New Mexico; and a daughter, Mary Shelton. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Zembal.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. June 9 at the Bremerton Eagles Lodge 192, 205 Sixth St.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Leona Ranck
Leona Pauline Ranck, 80, of Port Orchard died May 14, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Leiters Ford, Ind., to LeRoy and Delia (Towns) Overmyer. She attended high school in Holcombe, Wis.
She enjoyed gardening and quilting.
She was a Protestant.
Survivors include three sons, Victor Mertz of Port Ludlow, and John McCawley and William McCawley, both of Tennessee; a daughter, Kathaleen Westberry; a brother, Charles Overmyer of Oregon; three sisters, Ruth Rabbitt of Port Orchard and Judy Stalbuesch and Doris Kay, both of Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ethel Gelineau
Ethel M. Gelineau, 82, of Port Orchard died May 15, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Creston, Mont., to Allen and Helene (Smith) Calbick. She graduated in 1936 from Flathead County High in Kalispell, Mont.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and crocheting.
She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include three sons, Warren McMannamy of Port Orchard, Patrick Gelineau of Swan Lake, Mont., and Lemule Gelineau of Alaska; a brother, James of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger; her first husband, Robert McMannamy in 1953; and her second husband, Lyle Gelineau in 1976.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson Mortuary in Kalispell. Interment
will be at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Kathleen Bosik
Kathleen Ann Bosik, 35, of Kirkland died following a motorcycle accident May 12, 2001, in Tumwater.
She was born Nov. 9, 1965, in Groton, Conn., to George and Carole (Menerely) Regan. She graduated in 1984 from High Desert High School in Victorville, Calif., in 1993 from Olympic College and in 1995 from The Evergreen State College.
She worked in software technology for Microsoft.
She enjoyed traveling and belly dancing.
Survivors include a son, Jesse of Bremerton; two brothers, Michael and Kenric Regan of Bellevue; and a sister, Patricia Hilger of Bremerton.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Another memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at Church of the Resurrection, 15200 Main St. in Bellevue. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Velma Sesar
Velma I. Sesar, 95, of Port Orchard died May 15, 2001, at Belmont Terrace.
She was born March 7, 1906, in Bridgeport to Joseph and Elva (Blakesly) Vaughn. She graduated in 1953 from the Olympic College Nursing Program.
She was a licensed practical nurse for 30 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star and Colby Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Delbert Thompson of Renton, a sister, Myrtly Bell of Colville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Sesar in 1992; and a son, Forrest Thompson.
Private services will be held. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
