Angelina Silberman
Angelina Coleene Silberman, the infant daughter of William and Christie (Pagel) Silberman of Bremerton, was stillborn April 20, 2001, at Harrison Hospital in Silverdale.
She is survived by her parents; maternal grandparents, Bob and Ramona Pagel of Bremerton; and paternal grandparents, Doug and Cheryl Silberman of Port Orchard.
A private graveside service is planned. Interment
will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard, with arrangements by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Charles Smith
Charles Gordon Smith, 89, of Bremerton died of a stroke April 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1912, in Lewistown, Mont., to James Gordon and Catherine (Catto) Smith. He graduated from high school in Lewis town.
He married
Laura Margaret Kittredge. She preceded him in death April 6.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed league bowling.
He is survived by two sisters, Ivy Stillman and Katy Shaw of Lewistown.
Milo Crooks Jr.
Milo Alvaro Crooks Jr., 51, of Bremerton died April 6, 2001, of cancer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle.
He was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Tacoma to Milo and Edna (Swalley) Crooks Sr. He attended Peninsula High School in Purdy and Olympic College.
Mr. Crooks served in the Coast Guard from 1967 to 1972 as a boiler tender. He received several Good Conduct Medals.
He married
Penny Bondurant on Dec. 25, 1975, in Ocean City.
Mr. Crooks worked in boat building for 16 years. He enjoyed sailing and built a sailboat, which he navigated to Central and South America.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Edna Smith of Palm Springs, Calif.; a son, Milo III of Portland, Ore.; a brother, Mark of Bremerton; and two sisters, Kitten Hill of Bend, Ore., and Jana Folkers of Grayland.
No services are planned. Cremation is under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Mary Elizabeth Stech
Mary Elizabeth Stech, 80, of Poulsbo died April 16, 2001, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
She was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Huntington, Ind., to Elmer and Nancy (Heaston) Stech. She graduated from Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind., in 1943 and from Seattle University in 1959. She also attended the University of Washington.
She enjoyed training and showing dogs. She was a member of the Washington State Obedience Club and the Suquamish Community Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her companion, Margaret West of Poulsbo; and two sisters, Opal Stech and Faun Hite, both of Indiana. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Boxall and Avis Brown.
At her request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be at a later date.

Steve Fredericks
Edward "Steve" Fredericks, 46, of Port Orchard died of liver failure April 16, 2001, at Evergreen Rehabilitation in Bremerton.
He was born July 25, 1954, in Bremerton to William and Shirley (Salter) Fredericks. He was a 1972 graduate of West High School in Bremerton.
He was a commercial fisherman and laborer and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a Christian.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Rose; a stepfather, Jerry Rose; and two sisters, Sue Anderson of Kingston and Nancy Casaus of Port Orchard. He was preceded in death by his father in 1986, and a brother, Bill Fredericks.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be in July.

James Letourneau
Former Bremerton resident James P. Letourneau, 66, of Yucca Valley, Calif., died April 9, 2001, at home.
He was born March 13, 1935, in Spokane to Paul and Cecelia (Weller) Letourneau. He graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane.
He married
Diana Lanham on May 28, 1955, in Spokane.
He worked for Lanham's Drapery and Carpet Cleaners for 18 years.
Mr. Letourneau enjoyed sports and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Deb Oldridge of Port Orchard, Sue Cumbie of Warner Robins, Ga., Cindy Riggs of Olalla and Tina Couch of Centralia, Mo.; a son, Dan Letourneau of Yucca Valley; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Walter Kohlman
Walter Edward Kohlman, 82, of Port Orchard died April 18, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Sept. 30, 1918, in Lima Township, Wis., to John Louis and Nellie (Schlosser) Kohlman.
Mr. Kohlman served in the Navy from 1940 to 1948, achieving the rank of boatswain's mate third class. He received the World War II Victory Medal.
He married
Lucile Rees on Feb. 23, 1971, in Port Orchard.
Mr. Kohlman was a retired logger. He also worked as a saw mill operator and at a concrete plant.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sally Kohlman of Olympia and Wallene Komenda of Port Orchard; a stepson, John Chambers; a stepdaughter, Susan Schmidt of Bradenton, Fla.; three sisters, Martha Prissel and Ann Radle, both of Durand, Wis., and Julie Selz of Eau Galle, Wis.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Interment will be at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Gig Harbor. Memorial donations may be made to Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center, 2701 Clare Ave., Bremerton, WA 98310.
Gladys Stivers
Gladys N. Stivers, 99, of Bremerton, died April 19, 2001, of natural causes at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 31, 1902, in Skamokawa to J.W. and Libbie (Newell) Thompson.
She married
Guy Stivers on June 16, 1921, in Portland, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1965.
Mrs. Stivers enjoyed crafts and her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Tuckness and Donna Swanson of Bremerton, and Dolores Hopkins of Auburn; a sister, Betty DeWitt of Bremerton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Perry Thompson, and a grandson, Don Hylin.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Jean McNeil
Jean I. McNeil, 74, of Port Orchard died from diabetes on April 18, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1927, in Danielson, Conn., to Laid and Winaford (Nash) Winchell. She attended high school in Stonington, Conn.
She married
Thomas John McNeil in 1960 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara McNeil of Port Orchard; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gabriel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday. Interment
will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.

Pete Taylor Jr.
Thomas "Pete" Charles Taylor Jr., 72, of Bremerton died April 17, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Philadelphia to Thomas and Frances (Stephan) Taylor. He attended high school in Philadelphia and graduated in 1946.
He served in the Navy from 1947 to 1967, achieving the the rank of petty officer first class. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal and a Good Conduct Award. Following his retirement, he worked at a flour mill in California until retiring in 1992.
He loved his dog and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta (Wales) Taylor of Bremerton; three sons, Kenneth Huff of Las Vegas, David Inocencio of Olympia and Grant Taylor of Bremerton; three daughters, Roberta Watson of Barstow, Calif., Tommie Marie Martin of Hemit, Calif., and Deborah Quance of Bremerton; a brother Charles of the East Coast; three sisters, Julia, Marie and Margaret, all of the East Cost; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday also at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A graveside service with military honors will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Duncan Crockett
The Rev. Duncan Ross Crockett, 85, of Silverdale died of congestive heart failure April 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1915, in Longwood, Mo., to the Rev. Lenox and Eva (Allen) Crockett. He graduated in 1934 from Corder High School in Corder, Mo., in 1938 from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., and in 1941 from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
He married
Lorean Cheatham on June 13, 1939, in Corder.
He served as a in the Navy from 1945-46. He later was a Presbyterian minister for more than 50 years, retiring in 1979 and then in 1994.
He enjoyed playing the keyboard for singalongs.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joyce Veterane of Bainbridge Island and Marilee Kirkbride of Louisville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church on Bainbridge Island, with interment at the Corder cemetery in Corder. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Kyle Nash
Kyle James Nash, 4, of the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor died April 16, 2001, at Doern Becher Children's Hospital in Portland, Ore.
He was born March 4, 1997, at Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma to Dennis and Becky (Reinbold) Nash. He attended preschool at Cougar Valley Elementary School.
Kyle enjoyed music and race cars.
He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Brittany and Kaylee; and grandparents, Chris Reinbold of Bremerton, and Calvin and Donna Nash of Redmond, Ore. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Reinbold.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Murphy/Musgrove Funeral Home, 480 W. Seventh Ave. in Junction City, Ore.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. April 27 at the chapel on the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor. Those attending the April 27 service should call (360) 874-1575 for base access.
