Harold McGough
Harold S. McGough, 80, of Bremerton, died March 31, 2001, of heart problems at his home.
He was born June 2, 1920, in Orient, S.D., to Bernard and Elizabeth (Money) McGough.
Mr. McGough served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945.
He married
Colleen Powell on Sept. 13, 1946, in Bremerton.
Mr. McGough worked at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor and retired from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4992 in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary of Federal Way and Patrick of Bremerton; two daughters, Gayle Ward of The Dalles, Ore. and Cheryl Gallagher of Graham; a sister, Maxine Thorn of Pasco; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
Christie Thomsen
Christie Thomsen, 83, of Poulsbo, died March 30, 2001, of heart failure at Harrison Hospital.
She was born April 16, 1917, in Beloit, Wis., to Louis and Louise (Hagen) Larsen. She graduated from Beloit High School and from the University of Wisconsin.
She married
Hans Peter Thomsen on Jan. 26, 1943, in Beloit. He preceded her in death in 1952.
Mrs. Thomsen worked in radio and was the first director of the Beloit Senior Center. She retired in 1980.
She enjoyed music and theatre. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
She is survived by a son, Alexander of Kingston.
At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.

Elizabeth McRae
Elizabeth Mary McRae, 73, of Bremerton, died March 24, 2001, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Modesto, Calif., to Joseph and Josephine (Arnold) Tresch. She graduated from Lee's Beauty School in Tacoma around 1945.
She married
Edward McRae on Sept. 28, 1957, in Seattle.
Mrs. McRae worked as a beautician and as a drapery manufacturer. She retired in 1983.
She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Betty-Jo and Luann, both of Bremerton; two half-sisters, Joyce Nerland of Tacoma and Joanne Bushaw of Salinas, Calif.; and her stepfather, Julius "Tom" Streit; She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard "Arnie" Tresch.
At her request, no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to any diabetes research.
T. Bear Blair III
Former Tahuya and Belfair resident Theodore H. "T. Bear" Blair III, 66, of Elma died of cardiomyopathy March 30, 2001, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
He was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Forest Grove, Ore., to Theodore and Alma (Castle) Blair Jr. He graduated in 1953 from South Kitsap High School.
He married
Darlene Smith on Jan. 26, 1957, in Tahuya.
Mr. Blair owned a logging truck for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of antique tractor clubs.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis of Ontario, Calif., Theodore IV of Montesano and Michael of Kalaloch; two daughters, LaRayne Andrews of Montesano and Jacqueline Coulter of Aberdeen; a brother, P.N. "Nick" of Port Orchard; two sisters, Georgia Mattson of Poulsbo and Katie Stewart of Port Orchard; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, also at Whiteside Family Mortuary. Interment
will be at Satsop cemetery in Satsop.
Impi Manning
Impi C. Manning, 94, of Bremerton died March 30, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Sept. 11, 1906, in Painesdale, Mich., to Emanuel and Hilda (Walkenen) Kataja.
She married
Isaac Syynimaa in 1962. He preceded her in death.
She married
Frank Manning in 1969. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Manning was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and growing flowers.
Survivors include two brothers, Arvo Kataja of Port Orchard and Eino Kataja of Iron River, Mich.; and a sister, Emelia Frender of Port Orchard. She also was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Anna Herrick
Anna R. Herrick, 84, of Port Orchard died March 31, 2001, at Willow Creek Adult Family Home in Port Orchard.
She was born Jan. 12, 1917, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Johann "John" and Josephina (Ciemala) Opryshek. She graduated from high school in New Braunfels and from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
She married
A. Peter Emig in Houston in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1965.
Mrs. Herrick taught elementary school in Houston and in Cupertino, Calif., retiring after 30 years in 1981.
She enjoyed quilting and was a Catholic.
Survivors include two sons, Peter of El Dorado, Ark., and John of Napa, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Anna Ronk last year.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Calvin Johnson
Calvin Arthur Johnson, 75, of Sequim died of a cerebral seizure April 1, 2001, at Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles.
He was born Dec. 1, 1925, in Bremerton to Peter and Blanche (Winsley) Johnson. He was a 1944 graduate of Bremerton High School.
Mr. Johnson served in the Army from 1944 to 1946 and from 1950 to 1951. He achieved the rank of sergeant and received the Korean Service Medal.
He married
Geraldine Liston on July 29, 1950, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1998.
He married
Agness Ritter Walker on March 3, 2001, in Sequim.
Mr. Johnson was a machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 41 years, retiring in 1987 as a planner/estimator.
He enjoyed amateur radio and was involved in search and rescue operations.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Stanley of Bremerton; two daughters, Linda Boroughs and Dixie Kindt, both of Bremerton; three stepsons; four stepdaughters; a brother, Donald of Carnation; a sister, Viola Landry of Port Angeles; 25 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, with a funeral service following.
Dorse Huey
Dorse Harmond Huey, 76, of Bremerton died of congestive heart failure following a long illness March 30, 2001, in Silverdale.
He was born June 27, 1924, in Pennington, Ark., to Adolph and Maude (Carter) Huey. He attended Pennington High School.
He married
Helen Caroline Schraw on Dec. 3, 1943, in Los Angeles. She preceded him in death in 1976.
He married
Gloria Henry on Aug. 18, 1984, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1990.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1944 to 1969, achieving the rank of gunnery sergeant. He received the Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Valor.
Mr. Huey later worked at Kitsap Transit for 17 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a founder of the Marine Corps Toys For Tots program.
Survivors include his companion, Maxine O'Brien of Bremerton; two sons, Don of Belfair and Wayne of Beaverton, Ore.; a stepson, Carl Graf of Olalla; a sister, Muriel Raybourn of St. Louis; four brothers, A.D. of Wynne, Ark., Lucian of Grubbs, Ark., Harold of Columbia, Tenn. and Hayes of Clear Lake, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by brothers, Herschel, Raymond, Boyce and Marschall.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, also at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at the Huey Family cemetery in Pennington.

Harold Harty
Fred "Harold" Harty, 87, of Harper died April 3, 2001, of natural causes at Orchard Pointe Community Care Center.
He was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Seattle to Arthur and Ethel (Kenny) Harty. He graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle.
He married
Edith Louvain Todhunter on June 3, 1934, in Seattle.
Mr. Harty was a machinist at J.D. Ott Manufacturing and at Young Iron Works in Seattle. He retired after 49 in 1983.
He enjoyed boating and metal crafts.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard of Port Orchard and Marlan "Wade" of Manchester; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth McPhillips.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, with interment at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County.
Matthew Wilkerson
Matthew James Wilkerson, 11, of Bremerton died from complications of a genetic disorder April 2, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1990, in Kansas City, Mo., to Patricia Marion (Carter) Anderson. He was a sixth-grader at West Hills Elementary School in Bremerton.
He enjoyed music and sports. He attended Apostolic Life Tabernacle in Bremerton.
He is survived by his mother and a brother, Jaymz of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Angel.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Apostolic Life Tabernacle, followed by a celebration of his life. Interment
will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Tillie Wang
Mathilda "Tillie" Wang, 102, of Tracyton, died March 28, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 24, 1898, in Dunmore, Penn., to Adolph and Mathilda (Wahlers) Pittack.
She married
Russell Wang on June 4, 1944, on Vashon Island. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Wang owned a carpentry shop in Keyport for 12 years, retiring in 1954.
She enjoyed cooking, canning and fishing.
Survivors include a daughter, Bea Rackley of Tracyton; a brother, Ted Pittack of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Esther Faulk of Novato, Calif.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Arnold Pittack, and a sister, Florence Priem.
A private memorial service is planned. Memorial donations may be made to Harrison Hospital.
