Casey Casebier
Merrill V. "Casey" Casebier, 72, of Bremerton died March 30, 2001, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1928, in Topeka, Kan., to Louis and Ada (Behm) Casebier. He was a 1946 graduate of Central Kitsap High School.
He married Donna Mae Hendershot on Nov. 27, 1954, in Bremerton.
Mr. Casebier served in the Army from 1946 to 1947.
He worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport for 17 years, retiring as a general foreman in 1987. He also owned several businesses in Kitsap County.
Mr. Casebier was a member of American Legion Post 149 in Bremerton and enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Bremerton; four daughters, Jeannette Breen of Grapeview, Nancy Luker of Bremerton, Vicki Sulfaro of Tacoma and Susan Dunnells of Stafford, Va.; a brother, Ronald; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at American Legion Post 149. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 149, 4922 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, WA 98312.

Kenneth Boice Sr.
Kenneth E. Boice Sr., 71, of Bremerton died of Parkinson's disease April 1, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Spear Fish, S.D., to William and Ester (Underhill) Boice. He graduated in 1948 from Irene Shelton High School in Shelton.
He married LaVern St. Peter on Feb. 10, 1950, in Bremerton.
Mr. Boice served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and in the Air Force Reserves from 1956 to 1960. He achieved the rank of airman 1st class and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a warehouseman for Bremerton School District for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Boice was a member of American Legion Post 68 and Elks Lodge 1181, both in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ken Jr., Mike and Rick, all of Bremerton; a daughter, Debbie Corey of Bremerton; two sisters, Eloise Kincaid of Seldovia, Ark., and Avis Hoover of Shelton; and eight grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at American Legion Post 68.
Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, CH 23, P.O. Box 5371, Seattle, WA 98105-0371.

Roland Spritzen
Roland John Spritzen, 83, of Poulsbo died of multiple myeloma April 1, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Cleveland to John and Katherine Spritzen. He graduated from high school in Cleveland and from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in 1941. He received his master's degree from Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind., in 1965.
He married Mary Louise Harvell on July 19, 1941, in Norfolk, Va.
Mr. Spritzen served in the Marine Corps from 1941 to 1967, achieving the rank of colonel. He received the Bronze Star for service in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
He enjoyed fishing and reading. He was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jane Anne Bosman of Phoenix; a sister, Kathleen Sinden of Grant, Ala.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred.
A memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Shrine of St. Jude on Bush Street in San Francisco.

Larry Bell
Larry A. Bell, 61, of Bremerton died of heart failure March 30, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Muncie, Ind., to Dewey and Mary (Smith) Bell. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1957.
He married Huguette Victoria Chartier on Feb. 8, 1964, in Champlain, Quebec, Canada.
Mr. Bell served in the Army from 1958 to 1967, achieving the rank of sergeant. He received the Army Commendation Medal.
He worked with the United States Postal Service for 29 years, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Bell enjoyed traveling and stamp collecting.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Laurie Delaney; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Dewey, Fred, Vincent, Dale and James; and a sister, Leah Lehner.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 68 in Bremerton. Interment icon will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 557 Roy St., Lower Level, Seattle, WA 98109.

Clarice Meyer
Clarice Irene Meyer, 86, of Bremerton died of natural causes March 30, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Nov. 26, 1914, in Boyds, Ferry County, to Clarence and Sarah Swan. She graduated from Bremerton High School.
Mrs. Meyer owned and operated a dress shop, Clarice's Apparel, in Bremerton. She enjoyed needlework (knitting and crocheting) and quilting.
She is survived by three sons, Robert, Bill and Les, all of Bremerton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.

Marjorie Kloster
Marjorie Kloster, 75, of Bremerton died of heart failure March 27, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born March 16, 1926, in Sunset to Burrows and Grace (Beaman) Mason. She attended Sunset High School and also beauty college and business college, both in California.
She worked with McDonald Douglas in California as a keypunch operator and supervisor.
She enjoyed hiking and was a member of Eastgate Assembly of God in Bremerton.
Survivors include four sisters, Audrey Bailey of Utica, N.Y., Bonnie Mason of Seattle, Joyce Skinner of Bremerton and June Clark of Belfair; and two brothers, Walter and Gene Mason, both of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Mason.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. April 11 at Eastgate Assembly of God.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103-7499.

Maynard Holt
Maynard E. Holt, 84, of Poulsbo died March 30, 2001, at Naval Hospital Bremerton.
He was born July 17, 1916, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Trella and Lola (Mulkins) Holt.
He married Mable Walker on Sept. 28, 1946, in Garden City, Nev. She preceded him in death in 1982.
Mr. Holt served in the Navy from 1936 to 1966, achieving the rank of chief boatswain's mate. He survived Pearl Harbor aboard USS Nevada.
He also had been a dairy farmer in Kitsap County for 40 years.
Mr. Holt enjoyed animals and watching horse races.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn of Seattle; and a sister, Hazel Clark of Vanzant, Mo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Neilsen; and a brother, Raymond.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Betty George
Longtime Bremerton resident Betty Jane George died of natural causes March 29, 2001, at Naval Hospital Bremerton.
She was born March 29, 1923, in Brawley, Calif., to Harold and Carrie Nicoles.
She was a high school graduate and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband John; a daughter, Sandra S. Van Orman of Spanaway; and three grandchildren. A grandson, Army PFC Paul Vincent, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fir Lane Funeral Home of Spanaway.

Martin Hotvet
Martin H. Hotvet, 87, of Bremerton died of natural causes March 28, 2001, at Ashley Gardens in Bremerton.
He was born Aug. 21, 1913, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Martin and Inga Hotvet.
He married Elizabeth A. "Betty"Atwood on April 27, 1940, in Minneapolis.
He was a member of the Bremerton Lions Club, the Salvation Army Advisory Board and Silverdale Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Martin of Albany, N.Y., and James of Pasadena, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Silverdale Lutheran Church. A reception will follow.

William Huntley Jr.
William Henry Huntley Jr., 75, of Poulsbo died March 29, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., to William and Laura (Owen) Huntley. He graduated in 1944 from high school in Yonkers, N.Y., in 1951 from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., and in 1994 from the United States Naval War College.
He married June Ledger on June 4, 1951, in Malone, N.Y.
Mr. Huntley served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946, achieving the rank of electronic technician 3rd class.
He was an electronic engineer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Station at Keyport from 1984, retiring this year.
Mr. Huntley was a member of MENSA, the Sons of Norway and St. Charles Episcopal Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Laura Moore of Yonkers; and a brother, Robert of Danbury, Conn.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at
St. Charles Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be at Morningside cemetery in Malone, N.Y.
Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
