Will Bader
Wilbur "Will" C. Bader, 68, of Poulsbo died of cancer March 6, 2001, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
He was born June 29, 1932, in Wishek, N.D., to Adolph and Emma (Klien) Bader. He graduated in 1951 from Kennewick High School and attended Columbia Basin Community College.
He served in the Navy, achieving the rank of E-6.
He had a varied career, working for the Army Corps of Engineers in Idaho Falls, Idaho, as a reactor operator in Hanford for General Electric. He also sold insurance for Standard Insurance, was a property manager and worked for Troll's Taxi before retiring.
He enjoyed history and woodworking.
He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Lorene (Goodman) Bader of Winchester Bay, Ore.; a son, Konan of Spokane; a stepson, Glenn Goodman of Post Falls, Idaho; four stepdaughters, Lora Senyohl of Seabeck, Marsha Edwards of Phoenix, Arlena Jason of Fort Worth, Texas, and Linda Everhart of Spokane; three brothers, James of Kennewick, Don of Port Orchard and Ron of Lynnwood; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kristian D.
A private service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Ellis Cline
Ellis E. Cline, 42, of Sterling, Alaska, died
Feb. 22, 2001, at home.
He was born July 21, 1958, in Bremerton.
Mr. Cline moved to Alaska in 1995 and worked for Fred Meyer in Soldotna for the past four years.
He loved hunting, fishing, hiking and camping.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Leslie L. and Agnes D. Cline of Port Orchard; and a sister, Robin Hall of Port Orchard.
At the family's request, no services are planned. Mr. Cline's ashes will be scattered in the Kenai River. Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
Emily Govro
Emily F. Govro, 95, of Port Orchard died March 13, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace.
She was born May 30, 1905, to Lewis and Nancy (Peck) Fisher in Danville, Vt. She attended St. Johnsburg Academy and Johnson Normal School, both in Vermont.
She worked as a Kitsap County juvenile officer for six years and for the Kitsap County Auditor's Office for 11 years, retiring in 1966.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 44, and of the Soroptimist Club.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Port Orchard.
She is survived by three sons, Derek L. Burleson of Bloomington, Ind., Dewey A. Burleson of Hackensack, N.J., and John D. Burleson of Coventry, R.I.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Tex Wegner Jr.
Ashley Gibbs "Tex" Wegner Jr., 69, of Belfair died March 10, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1931, to Ashley and Daisy (Armstrong) Wegner in Galveston, Texas. He was educated in Galveston.
He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1952. Later, he was a firefighter for Tacoma Fire Department from 1956 until retiring in 1974.
On Dec. 4, 1954, he married
Carole Schrag in Tacoma.
He enjoyed the outdoors and raising Texas Longhorns.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Tim of Puyallup, Tom of Port Orchard and Ashley G. III of Belfair; two sisters, Phyllis Bolton of Bedford, Texas, and Carole Ann Wineinger of Alvin, Texas; one brother, Kenny of Galveston; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends between 5 and 7 p.m. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Belfair Assembly of God Church. Arrangements under the direction Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Newell Clauson
Newell F. Clauson, 93, of Port Orchard died March 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1908, to Edward and Anna (Lundberg) Clauson in Kiron, Iowa. He graduated from Kiron High School.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia (Lindstrom), on Feb. 5, 1974, and his second wife, Ruth (Wallace), on March 23, 1989.
He was an accountant at Howe Ford in Port Orchard and Bennett Ford in Bremerton.
He enjoyed family and church activities.
He was a member of Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include one son, Edward of Port Orchard; two daughters, Gwen Wells of Port Orchard and Dorothy Wells of Graham; one brother, Lowell of Denison, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Ralph and Stanley; and one sister, Bernice.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Sunset Lane cemetery. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
Mary Norby
Mary Norby, 90, died March 8, 2001, in Silverdale.
She was born Jan. 23, 1911, in Roslyn. She graduated from Roslyn High School in 1928 and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Central Washington College of Education.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Leroy of Bellevue and Williard of Novato, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is planned from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home with the funeral service immediately following. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Kenneth Schager
Kenneth W. Schager, 82, of Poulsbo died March 12, 2001, in Sisseton, S.D.
He was born June 27, 1918, to Arthur J. and Angeline (Conley) Schager.
He married
Gloria Geck on Dec. 2, 1998, in Poulsbo.
He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Schager was a shipwright for Washington State Ferries for 24 years, retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Fred, Richard, Steve and David Kennedy, all of Poulsbo; two daughters, Angela Robinett of Silverdale and Cheryl Wilson of Port Orchard; three sisters, Lillian Fisher of Tacoma, Ruth Bible of Port Angeles and Ester Osburn of Yelm; three brothers, Alvin of Sumner, Darrel of Centralia and Merlin of Auburn; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosella Andersen; and two brothers, Dean and Lyle.
A private family memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday at 1175 NW Thornwood in Silverdale. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Crematory. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Kinder Schmidt
Kinder Liebe (Hellenga) Schmidt, 33, of Bremerton died March 10, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 4, 1967, in Seattle. She was a 1986 graduate of Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale.
She married
Mike Schmidt on Feb. 3, 1990, in Seabeck.
She was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed volunteering at Green Mountain Elementary, where her children attended.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Jan Hellenga of Bremerton; a son, Rueben; and a daughter, Graycie.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Emel House, Scenic Beach State Park in Seabeck.
Betty Coon
Former Bremerton resident Betty O. Coon, 90, died of congestive heart failure March 7, 2001, at Manor Care in Lynnwood.
She was born Nov. 4, 1910, to Ernest and Alice (Ellis) Botting in England. She graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle in 1928.
On May 9, 1942, she married
Charles H. Coon in Port Orchard. He preceded her in death in 1960.
She was Episcopalian.
Survivors include one son, Charles Jr. of Edmonds; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Bert Botting; and one sister, Florence Orsted.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Michael Marinelli
Michael A. Marinelli, 76, of Kingston died March 9, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Fruta, Colo., to Michael and Asunta (Guarecco) Marinelli. He graduated from Fruta High School in 1943 and attended the University of Colorado.
He married
Margie Wallace on Oct. 31, 1981, in Seattle.
He worked for The Boeing Co. in engineering during World War II and later was the CEO of AAmica Services Inc., retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
He was a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kingston.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael of Renton, Daniel of Maple Valley and Mark; three daughters, Deborah and Doreen Dixon, both of Maple Valley, and Melinda Marinelli; three brothers, Joseph of Mina, Nev., Albert of Loma, Colo., and James of Eagle River, Alaska; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
A Masonic funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo. An additional funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2138 NE Mesford St., Poulsbo. Dedication of the grave will take place at Cherry Grove cemetery in Poulsbo following the funeral services.
Carl Peyer
Carl H. Peyer, 85, of Bremerton died March 10, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.
He was born April 29, 1915, in Hanover, Germany, to Carl and Wilamina (Rheme) Peyer.
On Aug. 9, 1966, he married
Elsie McComes in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She preceded him in death in 1977.
Mr. Peyer served in the Army from 1942 to 1971, as a mechanic and truck driver, achieving the rank of master sergeant.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his caregivers, Vince and Shirley Romo of Olalla.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
