Lenna Feld
Lenna B. Feld, 76, of Manchester died March 4, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center in Port Orchard.
She was born Dec. 12, 1924, in Denver.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her ex-husband and now companion, Walter Smelser of Manchester; one daughter, Mary Jo Spears of Port Orchard; two brothers, Dan McBride of Bremerton and Bob Spears of Renton; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline De Lace.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity Church of Bremerton. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Ilene Matty
Ilene H. Matty, 75, of Silverdale died Feb. 25, 2001, of a stroke and respiratory failure at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
She was born Dec. 23, 1925, to Ralph and Helen (Ingram) Hall in Oswego, N.Y. She was a 1944 graduate of Gouverneur High School in New York.
She was a service representative for U S West for 15 years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include one son, Peter of Seabeck; one daughter, Suzan Matty of Issaquah; one brother, Robert Hall of Hammond, N.Y.; one sister, Patricia Hall of Stratford, N.J.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held.
John Papineau
John Albert Papineau, 79, died March 4, 2001, at his Kingston residence.
He was born July 11, 1921, in Hanover, Conn., to John and Ethel (Balckom) Papineau. He attended high school in Hanover, graduating in 1939. He attended Olympic College.
He married
Rosa DeFore on March 10, 1953, in Smithsberg, Md.
He served in the Army for 22 years, achieving the rank of master sergeant before retiring in 1966. Later, he worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport as an electronics technician.
He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gregory of Poulsbo, Steven of Bremerton, Mark of Kingston and Eric of Sequim; a daughter, Eva Papineau of North Hampton, Mass.; a sister, Norma Slane of Philadelphia; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until noon Friday, at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. A military graveside service will be held at the Kingston cemetery in Kingston. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Dorothy Morse
Dorothy Delores Morse, 79, of Bremerton died
March 5, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1921, in Lankin, N.D., to Benjamin and Helen Zeman.
She was the owner of Dode's Grocery and Restaurant for 30 years, retiring in 1980.
She enjoyed recreational vehicle travel and gardening.
Survivors include her stepmother, Maybell Zeman; a stepdaughter, Jackie Phillips of Bremerton; a brother, James Zeman of Morioka, Japan; a sister, Edith Denny of Ajo, Ariz.; and two stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, in 1991; and a brother, Jack Newman.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow.

Earl Robertson
Earl Robertson, 84, of Bremerton died March 5, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Napa, Calif., to Earl and Hazel (Meyer) Robertson. He attended Vallejo High School in California.
He married
his first wife, Sadie Robertson, on June 20, 1940, in Reno, Nev. She preceded him in death in 1972. He married
his second wife, Donna King, on May 26, 1980, in Vancouver, B.C. She also preceded him death.
He was an electrician for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 22 years, retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting.
He was protestant.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Osman of Bremerton and Carol McDonough of Wake Village, Texas; a brother, Donald of Grass Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Robertson, in 1949.
A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Oliver Patterson
Oliver Patterson, 2 months, of Port Orchard died of sudden infant death syndrome March 1, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 19, 2000, at Tacoma General Hospital to Christopher and Niki (Arquette) Patterson.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Josh and Magnus, both of Port Orchard; a sister, Destiny Patterson of Greenville, S.C.; grandparents Paul and Caryn Arquette of Woodland, Calif.; and grandmother Sharon Patterson of Greenville.
A private service is planned. Arrangements are by Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Mary Miller
Mary Bartlett Miller, 92, of Bremerton died of heart failure March 4, 2001,
at Sun Bridge Care and Rehabilitation Center of Oyster Bay.
She was born Nov. 4, 1908, in Dallas to William Clark and Mary Harvey (Wallace) Miller. She attended Queen Anne High School in Seattle.
She was active in Sunday school and the Ladies Christian Aid Society.
She was protestant.
Survivors include two sisters, Jennie Hein of Bremerton and Herberta Smith of Belfair. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Miller Jr.
A private service will be at Evergreen-Washelli cemetery in Seattle.

Ellen Asbury
Ellen N. Asbury, 75, of Bremerton died after a brief illness Feb. 27, 2001, at her home.
She was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Westfir, Ore., to John A. and Signe (Sundberg) Natterlund. She attended Oakridge High School and Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, both in Oregon.
On June 19, 1948, she married
George F. Asbury. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Gail Ratley of Bellevue, Janis Orrico of Redmond and Amy Asbury of Sammamish; one sister, Esther Higgins of Baker City, Ore.; and five granddaughters. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Clarke and Lilly Natterlund.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. March 24 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Gary Shadbolt
Gary A. Shadbolt, 65, of Port Orchard died of a heart attack March 4, 2001, at Tacoma General Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1935, in Gig Harbor to Roy and Mary (Blair) Shadbolt. He graduated from Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor in 1954.
He married
Shirley E. Hoges on Aug. 29, 1964, in Gig Harbor.
He served in the Navy Reserve for two years. He also served in the Army from 1958 to 1960, achieving the rank of specialist fourth class. Later, he was a heavy equipment mechanic for Ace Paving for 13 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a musician and a member of the Country-Western Music Association.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Robert Mairer of Tahuya, Patrick Shadbolt of Port Orchard, Matthew Shadbolt of Tukwila and Michael Hodges of Port Orchard; a daughter, Julia Menou of Port Orchard; two brothers, Mike of Oregon City, Ore., and Jack of Tahuya; two sisters, Helen Davis of Edmonds and Agnes Dillon of Springfield, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher; a sister, Dorothy Mosley; and five brothers, Roy Shadbolt Jr., Herbert Shadbolt, James Shadbolt, Robert Shadbolt and Charles Blair.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are by Pendleton Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Evelyn Thompson
Evelyn Thompson, 87, of Silverdale died March 2, 2001, at Crista Shores Nursing Center in Silverdale.
She was born Dec. 15, 1913, in Anacortes to Gustave and Charlotte (Danielson) Lundberg. She was raised and educated in Anacortes.
She married
Robert Thompson on Sept. 20, 1947, in Seattle.
She worked in civil service for many years as a freight dispatcher.
Survivors include her husband of Crista Shores Nursing Center; and a sister, Ruth Gardner of Mukilteo.
At the families request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Marjorie Junell
Marjorie B. Junell, 84, of Bremerton died March 3, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Seattle to Charles and Grace Brott.
She married
Ernest Junell in 1936 in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1999.
She was a secretary at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport for 25 years.
She enjoyed knitting and traveling.
She is survived by a son, Tracy of Silverdale; and two grandchildren.
No service will be held. Arrangements are by Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
