Esther Moore
Esther Marie Moore, 80, of Port Orchard died Nov. 11, 1998.
She was born March 31, 1918, in Hill City, Kan. She was raised in Penokee, Kan.
On Dec. 8, 1940, she married
Roy Moore in Colorado Springs, Colo. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. Moore worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the blueprint room, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of TOPS of Port Orchard and the First Christian Church of Port Orchard.
Survivors include a son, Marvin of Union; two grandchildren, Adam Moore of New Chicago, Calif., and Jeniffer Powers of Manchester; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at the First Christian Church of Port Orchard. Inurnment will be at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park.
JoAnn Lynch
JoAnne Francis Lynch, 75, of Bremerton died Nov. 10, 1998, at her home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Huron, S.D., to Joseph and Mayme Mahowald. She was raised in Huron, S.D.
On June 10, 1946, she married
Francis Eugene Lynch in Omaha, Neb. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Lynch was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, the Parish Altar Society and Perpetual Adoration. She also was an active volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul.
Survivors include a son, Patrick of Bremerton; a daughter, Kathleen Secory of Mason City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Christian Anderson and Jodi Azeltine, both of Belmond, Iowa, and Katie and Bobby Gene Secory, both of Mason City, Iowa; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 with Rosary recitation immediately following, both at Our Lady Star of the Sea.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Interment
will be in Omaha.
Arrangements are by Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Mark Blye
Mark "Pogo" Blye, 40, of Seattle died Nov. 9, 1998, in Seattle.
He was born Sept. 6, 1958, to Joe McCree and Juanita Blye-McCree in Martinez, Calif. He was raised in Bremerton and attended Central Kitsap High School.
He is survived by his daughter, Whitney of Bremerton; his father, Joe McCree of Jennings, La.; four brothers, Darryl of Seattle, Paul McCree of Sacramento, Calif., Gary Thompson of Port Orchard, and Rodney Phillips of Orlando, Fla.; and four sisters, Janet Thompson of Port Orchard, Toni Ross of Sacramento, Calif., Jolynn Phillips of Orlando, Fla., and Velma Williams of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1994.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 14 at Sinclair Baptist Church, 4900 Kean, Bremerton.

Ralph Marshall
Ralph A. Marshall, 85, of Bremerton died Nov. 7, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 3, 1913, to John A. and Anna Mae Marshall in Parkersburg, W.Va. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1932 and took his apprenticeship as a sterotyper/pressman at the Parkersburg News-Sentinel.
On Aug. 20, 1942, he married
Edna Louise Rathbone in Parkersburg, W. Va.
Mr. Marshall served in the Army from Aug. 22, 1942, until Feb. 15, 1946. He was stationed at Fort Lawton, serving as Sgt. Major in Office of Personnel at Pier 42 in Seattle until being discharged. In 1947, he came to work at the Bremerton Sun pressroom, serving as foreman for 17 years. He retired after 31 years in 1947.
He was president of West Side Improvement Club for three terms, serving as treasurer for 17 years; a charter member of West Side Christian Church; a member of West Side Senior Center; a member of the Bremerton Lodge No. 117 F&AM; and a member of the Pressman Union No. 367-C.
Survivors include his wife, Edna of Bremerton, and one son, John M. of Edmonds.
Harriet Root
Harriet Ann Root, 88, of Port Orchard died Nov. 8, 1998, in Port Orchard.
She was born Aug. 14, 1910, in Vista Grande, Calif., to Andrew and Anna F. (Carstair) MacKenzie. She was raised in California, moving to Port Orchard at the age of 18.
On Feb. 8, 1936, she married
Russell S. Root in Seattle.
Mrs. Root worked as a cook at local restaurants in Port Orchard.
She attended Belfair Community Baptist Church, Nazarene Church of Port Orchard and the Grace Bible Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include one stepson, Laver Root of Monroe; three daughters, Harriet Norwood of Port Orchard, Liz Corliss-Clark of Belfair, and Linda Price of Seattle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989, her granddaughter, Jeanne Norwood, and her brother, Andrew McKenzie.

Nat Waldrip
Nat Anders Waldrip, 68, a lifelong resident of Mason and Kitsap counties, died Oct. 25, 1998, at Mason General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Olympia to James and Bertha Waldrip. He attended Shelton High School, then graduated in 1947 from Eureka High School in Eureka, Calif.
On Feb. 20, 1992, Mr. Waldrip married
Connie Bradley in Port Orchard.
He owned Waldrip Oyster Company of Shelton until 1967 and was secretary of the Olympia Oyster Growers Association in 1957. He was also vice-president of Pacific Coast Oyster Growers Association in 1964.
He was the owner of Washington State Realty Counselors Corporation, which was located in Belfair at the time he retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe of Olympia and Jim of Union; a daughter, Jeanette Geron of Austin, Texas; four stepsons, Rick, Dan and Jim Bradley, all of Olympia, and Rob Bradley of Burbank, Calif; a stepdaughter, Paula Galivan of Olympia; his mother, Bertha Waldrip, a brother, James of Coupeville; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1982 and brother, Joe, in 1950.
A memorial service was held on October 28 at Hope Chapel in Shelton.
Billy Hendrickson
Billy Dean Hendrickson, 49, of Belfair, died Nov. 2, 1998, in Belfair.
He was born July 30, 1949, in Guyman, Okla., to Paul and Jeanne Hendrickson. He was raised in North Little Rock, Ark., graduating from Sylvan Hills High School in 1967.
Mr. Hendrickson served in the Navy during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his mother; a son, Jared of North Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Shannon Hudlow of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Reannon Hudlow. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby, in 1970.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 6, with a funeral service immediately following, both at Rill Chapel. Interment
will be at Tahoma National cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Gordon Adams
Gordon Neil Adams, 71, of Port Orchard died Nov. 3, 1998, of cancer.
He was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Tacoma to John and Ruby (Hyder) Adams. He was raised in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School.
Mr. Adams served in the Navy. He worked as an environmental technician at the Retired Naval Weapons Center in China Lake, Calif., until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of the F&AM.;
Survivors include a son, Stephen of Concord, Calif.; a daughter, Tracy Hamett, Antioch, Calif.; two brothers, James, Port Ludlow, and Marvin, Port Orchard; and three grandchildren, Matthew Adams of Concord, Calif., and Stephanie and Jenny Hamett, both of Antioch, Calif.
At his request, there will be no services.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Rosella Shelton
Rosella Juanita Shelton, 88, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Oct. 24, 1998, at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix.
She was born Sept. 5, 1910, in Scammon, Kan.
On April 21, 1935, she married
Robert W. Shelton in Joplin, Mo. She moved to Bremerton in 1946.
Mrs. Shelton was very active in the PTA, where she received a Golden Acorn Award, a member of the Kitsap Golf & Country Club, the Petal Pushers Garden Club and a long-time active member of Bremerton Unity Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Lee Donahue, and a son, Bill, both of Chandler, Okla.; and a grandchild, Steve Blind, Spokane.

Arlene Johnson
Arlene Marie Johnson, 62, died of cancer Nov. 4, 1998.
She was born June 9, 1936, in Seattle to Charles and Laurine Storey.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel H. Johnson; three sons, Daniel and Matthew of Oso, and Christopher of Edmonds; two daughters, Kathy of Auburn and Jeanne of Monroe; her mother and stepfather, Laurine and Doran Kennedy; and eight grandchildren, Timothy, Laura and Amie Johnson, Stephanie and Kimberly Spohnheimer, and Kale, Steven and Garrett Saether.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at Weller's Funeral Home in Arlington.
