Woody Willson
Woodrow "Woody" Willson, 85, of Port Orchard died Feb. 15, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1915, in Brainerd, Minn., to Frank and Ada (Rose) Willson. He graduated in 1936 from Seattle Pacific College and attended the University of Washington.
He married
Evelyn Stavney on June 29, 1940, in Ballard.
He was an analytical chemist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 39 years, retiring in 1976.
He served on the board of trustees of Seattle Pacific University and was a founding board member of the Warm Beach Christian Camp and Conference Center.
He was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, John of Whidbey Island and Jerry and Ron, both of Port Orchard; a daughter, Karen Rowe of Port Orchard; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Couture.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Bible Church. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Beverley Thompson
Beverley Jeann Thompson, 73, of Bremerton died Jan. 28, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born June 15, 1927, in Carrington, N.D., to Joseph and Christine (Herman) O'Hara.
She attended South Kitsap High School.
She was a clerk with the Internal Revenue Service for 12 years, retiring in 1988.
She enjoyed genealogy.
She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include a son, Paul of Bremerton; two brothers, John O'Hara of Washington and Joe O'Hara of Plain; a sister, Marlene Wolf of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Darlene Proctor.
A private service is planned.
Henie Herman
Henrietta "Henie" Ann Herman, 81, of Bainbridge Island died Feb. 15, 2001, at Island Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Berwyn, Ill., to Joseph and Ann (Vodvoska) Stech. She attended school in Chicago.
She married
Joseph Herman in Chicago in. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She was a caterer and homemaker.
She enjoyed bingo and activities at the North Kitsap Center. She also was a member of the American Legion.
She was a Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Jr.; a daughter, Helen Waggoner of Bainbridge Island; and one grandchild.
A private service will be held at 7729 Fletcher Bay Road NE, Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island.

Jack Stege
Jack E. Stege, 89, of Port Orchard died Feb. 14, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace.
He was born Dec. 29, 1911, in Tulsa, Okla., to Harry and Dora (Gaunce) Stege. He graduated in 1932 from Tulsa High School in Tulsa, Okla.
He served in the Army from 1941 to 1946, achieving the rank of captain.
He married
Irma Jarnagin on May 2, 1946, in Yuma, Ariz. She preceded him in death in 1996.
He was a project engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers for 30 years, retiring in 1972.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the Elks Club.
Survivors include a son, John of Port Orchard; two daughters; Susan Stege of Kirtland, N.M., and Jeanne Hoyt of Troutdale, Ore.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
No service is planned. Inurnment will take place at Willamete National cemetery in Portland, Ore. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Ellen Gay
Ellen M. Gay, 47, of Port Orchard died Feb. 14, 2001, at Madigan Hospital.
She was born Aug. 9, 1953, in Lakeview, Ore., to Raymond Padget and Eva Linsey. She graduated in 1971 from Lakeview High School in Lakeview, Ore.
She married
Joey Gay on July 23, 1971, in Reno, Nev.
She was a secretary for several years.
She enjoyed bowling and the outdoors.
She was a Lutheren.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Hurtt Charles of Great Falls, Mont.; a brother, David Padget of Reno; two sisters, Vergie Stepahin of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Norma Neisham of Eagan, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Lutheran Church in Lakeview, Ore. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Kelly Clarke
Kelly Rochelle Clarke, 22, of Port Orchard died of complications from a lung transplant and Cystic Fibrosis on Feb. 11, 2001, at the University of Washington Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1978, in Long Beach, Calif., to Dennis and Linda (Peif) Clarke. She attended Elmira High School in Elmira, Ore., earning her GED in 1996.
She worked in sales.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Brad Yurenko; and two brothers, Daniel of Port Orchard and Chuck of Elmira. She was preceded in death by her father in 1986.

Robert Borden Jr.
Robert N. Borden Jr., 76, of Gig Harbor died of cancer Feb. 14, 2001, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.
He was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Spokane to Robert and Sarah (Bilsland) Borden. He graduated in 1942 from Wenatchee High School.
He served in the Army during World War II. He was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He married
Carol Gahringer on June 22, 1947, in Wenatchee.
He was a business systems consultant for the computer and aerospace industries for 40 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a 25-year member of the Coast Guard Auxilliary and a member of the Veterans of the Battle of Bulge, Northwest Chapter.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael of Culver City, Calif., Mark of Renton, Thomas of Colbert and Dan of Cashmere; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Borden.
A funeral service is planned for 9:30 a.m. Monday at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wenatchee cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Democrito Ibarra
Democrito C. Ibarra, 87, of Bremerton died Feb. 15, 2001, at Bremerton Convalescent Center.
He was born Dec. 15, 1915, in San Antonio Guagua Pampanga, Philippines, to Alejandro and Maria (Capati) Ibarra.
He enjoyed reading.
He was a member of the Philippine Independent Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosita; 10 sons, Romeo, Alfredo, Augusto, Carlos, Virgiuo, Demetrio, Jaime, Dante, Danilo and Victor; five daughters, Maria Bansil, Patricia Veran, Rosalinda Tuarno, Priscilla Ibarra and Alda Songio; two sisters, Amanda Taylo and Remedios Gutierrez; 59 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Rosario Oblepias.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, both at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Feb. 24 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Martha Doyle
Martha Lillian Doyle, 87, of Bremerton died Feb. 2, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 18, 1913, in Colorado.
She was a flight meteorologist for Pan American Airways. She also worked in federal service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle.
Winfred Hamilton
Former Manchester resident Winfred Morgan Hamilton, 73, of Vancouver, Wash., died Feb. 12, 2001, in Vancouver.
He was born April 7, 1927, in Ryderwood to Paul Morgan Hamilton and Lilly Viola (Manchester) Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton served in the Navy from 1945 to 1947.
He married
Naomi Fern Janes in 1948, in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Hamilton was a boilermaker at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1948 to 1978. From 1978 until his retirement in 1984, he worked in Portland, Ore., as a boiler inspector at Sup-Ship.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, Steven of Port Orchard, Paul of Poulsbo and Michael of Olalla; two daughters, Theresa Blaske of Vancouver and Linda Willis of Port Orchard; a brother, Frank of Amboy; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Hamilton.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service.
