Hulda Hill
Hulda E. Hill, 90, of Silverdale died Jan. 27, 2001, at Crista Shores Retirement Community in Silverdale.
She was born April 20, 1910, in Mitchell Township, Wilkin County, Minn., to Frederick and Mary (Pubanz) Krueger. She attended the North Dakota State School of Sciences.
She married
James "Jim" Hill on Jan. 12, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a ward secretary at Harrison Hospital.
She enjoyed sewing and gem faceting.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Myrna Hill-Johnson of Bainbridge Island, Barbara Hill-Stanley of Rancho Morage, Calif., and Sandra Hill-Young of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her siblings.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be at Sunrise Terrace Mausoleum at Forest lawn cemetery.

Lee Blodgett
Jesse L. "Lee" Blodgett, 61, of Poulsbo died Jan. 26, 2001, at home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1939, in Lorenzo, Idaho, to Clarence and Ruby (Clements) Blodgett.
He married
Janet Page on April 30, 1959, in Payette, Idaho.
He made a career in the Navy, achieving the rank of E-7. He earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Navy Unit Commendation.
He also was a maintenance mechanic for Johnson Controls, retiring in 1978.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and owned Lee's Upholstery.
He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Idaho Falls; three sisters, Betty Whitmill of Idaho Falls, Sarah Ashton of Shelly, Idaho, and Lily Newman of Pocatello, Idaho.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. (mountain time) Saturday at the Evergreen cemetery in Ontario, Ore. Interment
will take place at Evergreen cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel and Lienkaemper Chapel.

Norris West
Norris C. West, 89, of Seabeck died Jan. 29, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 15, 1911, in Kirkland to Charles and Laura (Arend) West. He was a 1930 graduate of Quilcene High School.
He married
Jessie Clough on June 12, 1937, in Bremerton.
He worked for the Bremerton Fire Department for 26 years, retiring in 1969.
He enjoyed bowling and hunting. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 206 and First Christian Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Larry of Seabeck, Lewis of Shoreline, Tom of SeaTac and Allan of Everett; a brother, Kennett of Renton; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Bill Luckhurst
William "Bill" Parker Luckhurst, 73, of Gig Harbor died Jan. 29, 2001, in Gig Harbor.
He was born June 6, 1927, in Seattle to Clarence and Dorothy (Larson) Luckhurst. He was a 1945 graduate of Bremerton High School and attended Olympic College.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a broadcast engineer at KBRO in Bremerton and KTAC in Tacoma. He taught broadcast engineering at Bates Technical College.
He enjoyed skiing and hiking. He was a member and lay reader of St. John's Episcopal Church of Gig Harbor.
Survivors include his wife, Joan (Hill) Luckhurst; his mother; two daughters, Cherie Luckhurst of Seattle and Shawn Utley of Burien; a sister, Larayne Anderson, of Brewster; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Episcopal Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haven of Rest Funeral Home of Gig Harbor.

William Johnson
William E. Johnson, 50, of Bremerton died Jan. 27, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 27, 1950, in Detroit to Francis and Beverly (Payne) Johnson. He attended Newport High School in Bellevue and attended Western Washington University in Bellingham.
He married
Laurie Masten on July 23, 1978, in King County.
He was an insurance agent with Aide Association for Lutherans Company.
He was Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Beverly of Denver; two daughters, Danelle Payan of Los Angeles and Connie Johnson of Bremerton; a sister, Kristine Voeller of Denver; two brothers, Arthur of Phoenix and Robert of Anacortes; and one grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lutheran Church. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Crematory.
Robert Pace
Robert Lucas Pace, 72, of Port Orchard died Jan. 28, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Seth and Lillian (Lucas) Pace.
He served in the Army from 1946 to 1948 and played in the U.S. Army Band.
He married
Doris Taylor in October 1947 in Seattle, She preceded him in death in 1983.
He then married
Eileen Wetherell in May 1987 in Port Orchard.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Robert's Music and Instrument Repair for 30 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the Bremerton Symphony and a past exalted ruler of the Bremerton Elks.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, James of Chehalis, Philip of Port Orchard and Robert of Poulsbo; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
A memorial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Bremerton Elks on Pine Road. Entombment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

John Pahrmann
John Pahrmann, 93, of Tracyton died Jan. 26, 2001, at home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1907, in Seattle to H.O. and Anna (Mylet) Pahrmann. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1926.
He married
Esther Van Stone on March 20, 1933, in Port Orchard.
He was a member of the Mere Dance Club and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald and Kenneth of Tracyton; two daughters, Ileen Adkins of Randle and Rita Kubert of Tracyton; a sister, Lucille Kant of Lacey; 10 grand-children; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Hokanson.
A memorial service is planned for 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church. A graveside service for family members will be at Tracyton cemetery.

Margaret Benskin
Margaret C. Benskin, 81, of Bainbridge Island died Jan. 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Bremerton to William and Mary (McCabe) Moyer. She was a 1937 graduate of Bremerton High School.
She married
Earle Benskin on Aug. 11, 1941, in Bremerton.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard of Bellevue and Stephen of California; a daughter, Marilyn McCallum of Bainbridge Island; a sister, Helen Strand of Seattle; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Benskin requested no service be held.

Harry Snyder
Harry Brooks Snyder Jr., 80, of Bremerton died of cancer Jan. 22, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 26, 1920, in Portland, Ore., and was adopted by Harry and Elizabeth Snyder.
He graduated from Estacada High School in Estacada, Ore., and Portland State College.
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts.
He worked for the Signal Corp.
He was a member of Odd Fellows.
A son, Larry of Juneau, Alaska, survives him. He was preceded in death by an adopted sister, Starlee Roberts.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place in Estacada.

Russell Sauer
Russell D. Sauer, 84, of Bremerton died Jan. 25, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Plainville, Kan., to William and Bertha (McFadden) Sauer. He graduated in 1934 from Scott Community High School in Scott City, Kan.
He married
Lois Sauer in Bremerton in 1957. She preceded him in death in 1960.
He served as a Merchant Marine during World War II.
He was an electrician for 40 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Bremerton Lions.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lowell of Bremerton, Harold of Kansas, Donald of Port Orchard and Garth of Indiana; and two sisters, Mary Bolding of Bremerton and Quila of St. Germaine, N.J.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will follow. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
