Ronald Lachmund
Ronald Wayne Lachmund, 63, of Bremerton died Jan. 12, 2001, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Michigan City, Ind., to Curtis and Leona (Jenkins) Lachmund. He attended Elston High School in Michigan City, graduating in 1955.
He married
Carol Williamson on March 9, 1957, in Michigan City.
Mr. Lachmund served in the Marines from 1955 to 1959.
He later was a bus driver for Kitsap Transit. Mr. Lachmund enjoyed woodworking and computers.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Scott of Auburn and Todd of Everett; a daughter, Colleen of Bremerton; and two grandchildren.
At the family's request, there will be no service. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park, with inurnment at Greenwood cemetery at Michigan City.
Wilma Moersch
Wilma B. Moersch, 87, died from complications of a long illness Jan. 10, 2001, at Twilight View Adult Family Home in Port Orchard.
She was born Nov. 12, 1913, in Guiderock, Neb., to James and Edna (O'Neal) Perry. She graduated from high school and college in Nebraska.
She was a teacher and apartment manager.
Survivors include a son, James Shirk of Lake Bay; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Moersch, in 1994.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Port Orchard. Inurnment will be in Denver with her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of Cady Cremation Services in Kent.
Sally LeClare
Sally M. LeClare, 84, of Bremerton died Jan. 16, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Sept. 5, 1916, in Clinton, Mo., to Newton and Margaret (Gibbins) Violette.
She married
John LeClare in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a home health-care worker for King County Health for 20 years, retiring in 1972.
She was an artist and enjoyed community theater.
She was a member of Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Hoover of Arlington, Ken Hoover of Tucson, Ariz., and Dick Greenwood of Tahuya; three daughters, Janis Hoover of Seattle, Maureen Sage of Denver and Diane Stiles of Ketron Island; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a few great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Jones and June Martinson; and a brother, Bill Violette.
A memorial service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday at The Willows Retirement Living Community in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Betty Massey
Betty Massey, 76, of Poulsbo died Jan. 13, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Taft, Calif., to Frank and Sylvia (Long) Byrd. She spent her childhood in Taft and graduated in 1964 from El Monte High School in El Monte, Calif.
She was a florist for 12 years, retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed crafts and reading, and was a member of Liberty Harbor Four Square Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Hunt of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 12 grandchildren.
Memorial services have been held under the direction of Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
Rosella Mattera
Rosella L. Mattera, 71, of Port Orchard died Jan. 15, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Sturgis, S.D., to Ira and Bessie (Herrin) Hubbell.
She married
Ronald Mattera on Oct. 17, 1990, in Reno.
She was the owner of the Vintage Shop for 15 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Kitsap County Salon 233 of the 8/40.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Curtis Crenshaw and Don Crenshaw, both of Port Orchard; two daughters, Connie Crenshaw of Bremerton and Colleen Gonzales of Anacortes; a brother, Carl Hubbell of Ocean Park; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Chapel.

Ella Nesseth
Ella Mae Nesseth, 71, of Port Orchard died Jan. 16, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1929, in Port Orchard to Ellis and Elizabeth (Ehlers) Cline. She attended South Kitsap schools.
She married
Ira "Swede" Nesseth on Sept. 28, 1946, in Shelton. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She was a cook at Myrhe's Restaurant in Port Orchard.
She was a fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. She was a member of Key Peninsula Lutheran Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Leslie Vera of Union City, Calif., Becky Sullivan of King, N.C., Darlene Montoya and Noreen Nalley, both of Port Orchard, and Elaine Taylor of Everett; a brother, Leslie Cline of Port Orchard; a sister, Susan Irmen of Port Orchard; 11 grandchildren; and 16 grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Ruth Olsen
Ruth Alydia Ringness Olsen, 90, of Bremerton died Jan. 14, 2001, at Creekside Care Adult Home.
She was born July 8, 1910, in Pearson to Jacob and Anna (Dahl) Ringness.
She graduated in 1929 from Central Kitsap High School, formerly Port Washington Bay Union High School.
She married
Henry Olsen on July 9, 1929, in Tacoma. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was a homemaker throughout her marriage. She was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Ronald of Chicago; a daughter, Sylvia Boyce of Bremerton; two sisters, Agnes Berg and Mildred Frazier, both of Bremerton; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Oscar Ringness; and three sisters, Gma Anderson, Alice Stevens and Alma Berg.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. A graveside service will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Eleanor Kruger
Eleanor Ruth Kruger, 94, of Bremerton died Jan. 15, 2001, in Tacoma.
She was born March 11, 1906, in Anaconda, Mont., to Peter and Edna (Stebbins) Hilgers. She graduated in 1923 from Central High School in Anaconda.
She married
George Kruger in Anaconda. He preceded her in death in 1979.
She enjoyed baking and sewing. She was Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Gene of Shoreline; a daughter, Georgia Hughes of Lakewood; four brothers, Frank, Bill, George and Hillard, all of Anaconda; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Huestis.
Visitation is planned from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with a funeral Mass immediately following.

Katheryn Camm
Katheryn M. Camm, 85, of Bremerton died Jan. 6, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1915, in Wisdom, Mont., to Oscar and Helen (Wood) McVay. She graduated in 1934 from Corvallis High School in Montana.
She married
Herbert Camm in 1951 in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She taught a clothing and textile class at Olympic College from 1968 to 1970. She also owned K's Draperies for 20 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Olympic, Philathea and Reliance chapters O.E.S.
She was Protestant.
Survivors include four sons, Craig of Bremerton, Jerry Ellis of Seabeck, Scott Ellis of Seattle and Randy McIlraith of Vancouver, British Columbia; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
At the family's request, no service is planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Milo Havens
Milo J. Havens of Silverdale died of lung cancer Jan. 13, 2001, at Crista Shores.
He retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1985 and went to work for Art Anderson Associates.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Silverdale; two daughters, Diana Havens and Linda Middleton, both of Silverdale; a sister, Mary Jo Brady of Colorado; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. today at Peninsula Bible Fellowship. Private interment will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Frances Joyce
Frances Ellyn Joyce, 53, of Indianola died Jan. 11, 2001, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born Oct. 10, 1947, in Seattle to Thomas and Mildred (Gillies) Joyce. She graduated in 1965 from Roosevelt High School in Seattle and attended Bellevue Community College and Olympic College.
She was a home health care and medical marketing representative.
She enjoyed creating art and community service.
Survivors include a son, Tyler Phillips of Indianola; and a daughter, Amy Phillips of Kingston.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. today at St. Olaf's Catholic Church. Interment
will take place at Breidablik cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
