Janice McNamara
Janice L. McNamara, 63, of Port Orchard died Dec. 19, 1998, at her home.
She was born on March 24, 1935, to George and Dorothy (Lancaster) Bruneau of Bridgeport, Conn.
Mrs. McNamara worked as nurse's aide in Connecticut. She later volunteered her services at the South Kitsap Helpline.
She is survived by a son, William McNamara, of Port Orchard; two daughters, Sharon Holte of Holman, Wis., and Debra Spencer of Port Orchard; a brother, Robert Bruneau of Milford, Conn; a sister, Catherine Hunter of Port Orchard; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at noon, Dec. 30, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendelton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Arthur Cross
Arthur Greig Cross, 72, of Bremerton died Dec. 18, 1998, at his home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Chicago, to Arthur and Mary (Greig) Cross. He was raised in Chicago.
On Dec. 26, 1950, he married
Lois M. Baumgart in Milwaukee, Wis.
Mr. Cross served in the Army as a construction engineer.
He worked for AT&T; for 41 years, starting out as a line installer and retiring in 1984 as a communication consultant.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Robert of Lake Forest, Calif., Donald of Milwaukee, Wis., William of Boise, Idaho, and John of Silverdale; a sister, Marion Compton of San Gabriel, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Jason, Nolan and Carolyn, all of Silverdale, and Noah of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric, in 1995.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 2 at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be in Wisconsin.

Earl Kisler
Earl Le Roy Kisler, 78, of Belfair died Dec. 24, 1998, at the Evergreen Hospice Health Care Foundation in Kirkland.
He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Marshall Junction, Wash., to John and Beryl (Murray) Kisler. He graduated from Lynden High School in 1937.
In 1951, he married
Frances Glenn in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death earlier this year.
Mr. Kisler served in the Army during World War II in both the Philippines and Australia. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for many years, retiring as a production engineer.
Survivors include a son, Michael of Naperville, Ill.; two daughters, Millie Vance of Kirkland and Emily Bachel of Belfair; a brother, Murray of Salem, Ore.; three sisters, Madge Honodel of Spokane, June Connelly of Grand Coulee and Doris Schieber of Electric City; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
At the family's request, there will be no service. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Floyd Ayala
Floyd Manuel Ayala, 89, of Port Orchard died Dec. 28, 1998, at his home.
He was born Sept. 12, 1909, in Key West, Fla., to Manuel and Laura (Meyers) Ayala. He was raised in Key West, Fla.
In 1931, he married
Lona Carroll. She preceded him in death in 1979.
Mr. Ayala joined the Army in 1927, serving with the First Cavalry Division. In 1932, he joined the Navy, serving in both World War II and in Korea.
He retired from the Navy in 1954, having received commendations for the Battle of Salvo Island and the Battle of Santa Cruz.
He worked as an electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring after 41 years of government service in 1972.
He was a past master of the Bethel Grange, a member of the Elks Lodge 1181 and the Sons of Norway.
Survivors include a son, Gary Reilly of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren, Orin Ayala and Dylan Reilly, both of Port Orchard.
At the family's request, there will be no service.
Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
De-Etta Paramore
De-Etta Mae Paramore, 56, of Hunters, Wash., died Dec. 18, 1998, of cancer.
She was born April 17, 1942, in San Francisco to Lucian and Martha (Rivinius) Rousseau.
She was raised and educated in San Francisco, graduating from high school in 1960.
On Jan. 8, 1976, she married
Benjamin C. Paramore in San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Paramore served in the Air Force from 1960 to 1961, receiving an honorable discharge. She was a homemaker for more than 25 years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Christopher Haynie of Spokane and Timothy Haynie of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Kelly Ziemann of Silverdale; and four grandchildren, Thomas, Carolyn and Michelle Haynie, all of San Antonio, Texas, and AJ Ziemann of Silverdale.
A memorial service was conducted. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stevens County, Colville, Wash.
N. Gordon Swanson
Nels Gordon Swanson, 82, of Bremerton died Dec. 19, 1998, at Harrison Hospital, from a heart attack.
He was born March 3, 1916, in Sheyenne, N.D., to Swan and Amanda (Lindberg) Swanson.He was raised in Sheyenne, N.D., graduating from Sheyenne High School in 1935. He later attended North Dakota Agricultural College.
Mr. Swanson worked with the allowance section of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 32 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a charter member of the Gold Mountain Golf Club and a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; a daughter, Marilyn of Seattle; and a granddaughter, Rina LaStella of Seattle.
At his request, no services will be conducted.

Ann Lopez
Ann Z. Lopez, 58, of Port Orchard died Dec. 18, 1998, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born March 25, 1940, in Tulare, Calif., to Ted and Hope (Yrique) Zamarripa. She was raised in San Jose, Calif.
On March 29, 1957, she married
Antonio R. Lopez in San Jose, Calif.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Antonio Jr. of San Francisco; two daughters, Linda of Port Orchard and Lisa Nalbach of Elk Grove, Calif.; three sisters, Margie Haines of Harrison, Idaho, Olivia Sanchez of San Jose, Calif., and Sally Ruiz of Madera, Calif.; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Tara Nalbach and Keith Nalbach Jr., all of Elk Grove, Calif., Javier Lopez of Port Orchard, and Antonio and Vincent Lopez, both of San Francisco; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 28 with Mass immediately following, both at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Marie Jensen
Marie Eleanor Jensen, 82, of Bremerton died Dec. 19, 1998.
She was born April 19, 1916, in Arnegard, N.D., to Leo and Hilda (Jacobsen) Strigel.
Mrs. Jensen worked as a supply clerk at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years.
She was a member of the Elks, the Sons of Norway and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Jim of Spokane; two daughters, Sue Gray and Marvelian Farrel, both of Port Orchard; three sisters, Unice Aardhal of Bremerton, Ruth Carlson of Chico and Alice Bauman of Poulsbo; four grandchildren, Mike Morey of Tracy, Calif., Mark Morey of Poulsbo, Donel Morey of Sparks, Nev., and Dale Morey of Potterville, Mich.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 28 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Interment
at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Dale Tomlinson
Former Kitsap County resident, Dale R. Tomlinson, 73, died Dec. 22, 1998, at a veterans hospital in Florida.
He was born May 19, 1925, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Paul and Iva Tomlinson.
Mr. Tomlinson served in the Army during World War II with the 17th Infantry. He was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; two sons, Dale Jr. and Paul Joseph; and three sisters, Mary McGowen of Eureka, Mont., Kathleen Conner of Port Orchard and Laura Hansen of Gorst.
