Denise Hanson
Denise L. Hanson, 43, of Belfair died Jan. 9, 2001 at Harborview Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 9, 1957, in Oakland, Calif., to Connie Covington and Edward Hanson.
She was a 1975 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School in Pleasant Hill, Calif.
Survivors include her mother, Connie Covington of Dublin, Calif.; her father, Edward Hanson of Milwaukee, Ore.; two sons, Nathaniel Hanson and Scott McGrath, both of Belfair; two daughters, Sarabeth Nielsen of Belfair and Christina Hanson of Dublin; a brother, Marty Hanson of Concord, Calif; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
Gator Naumann
Gator Everett Naumann, 10-months-old, died Jan. 9, 2001, at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
He was born March 7, 2000, in Tacoma to Vyrl and Jeanie (Palmer) Naumann.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Zander of Port Orchard; grandparents, Chuck and Rosalie Palmer of Port Orchard, Ed and Dee Naumann of Caldwell, Idaho, and Deanna Taylor of Twin Falls, Idaho; and great-grandmothers, Frances Wells of Filer, Idaho, and Virginia Narcomey of Arkansas City, Kan.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Port Orchard Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.

Dilly Davis
Lillian "Dilly" Gladys Davis, 82, of Bremerton died Jan. 8, 2001, at Bremerton Convalescent Center.
She was born March 14, 1918, in Poulsbo to Sam and Gina (Knutson). She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1936.
She married
Isaac Davis on Feb. 4, 1939, in Poulsbo. He preceded her in death in 1971.
She enjoyed crocheting.
She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Valerie Winn and Linda Forbes, both of Bremerton, and Wanda Monti of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Arthur Olsen of Hillsburg, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Rochelle Hauanaulu.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn.

George Singer
George Edwin Singer, 71, died from cancer Jan. 10, 2001, at his Bremerton residence.
He was born March 29, 1929, in Wenatchee to George and Burgi (Nussbaumer) Singer.
He graduated in 1947 from Hunters High School in Hunters, Wash.
He served in the Army from 1953 to 1956.
He married
Marjorie Beck on April 11, 1959, in Belfair.
He worked in auto body repair business when he came to Bremerton in 1947. He later owned Long's Auto Rebuild, where he worked until retiring in November 1999.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug and Jim, both of Bremerton; two sisters, Betty Dashiell and Suzie Lantzy, both of Hunters; three brothers, Harry of Bremerton, Bill of Cedonia, Wash., and Dennis of Fruitland, Wash; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 20, 2001, at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Crematory.

Nina Harvey
Nina Geraldine Harvey, 83, of Port Orchard died Jan. 8, 2001, at home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Greenville, Miss., to Harold and Ora (Mitchell) Noel. She graduated in 1934 from San Pedro High School in San Pedro, Calif., and in 1966 from Sonoma State College.
She married
Chester Lee Harvey in March 1935, in Long Beach, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She was a teacher in Benicia, Calif., for 25 years,
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
She attended the Harper Evangelical Free Church.
Survivors include two sons, Chester Jr. of Soap Lake and Harold of Boulder City, Nev.; three daughters, Helen Simmons of Port Orchard, Leora Hanson of Bremerton and Sara Weyrick of Poulsbo; a sister, Helen Somers of Spanish Fork, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, all at Rill Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilcrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment
will be Tuesday at Willamette National cemetery in Portland, Ore.
George Mayton
George H. Mayton, 76, of Bremerton died Jan. 7, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Sweet Water, Ala., to George and Nancy (West) Mayton. He graduated in 1942 from Bremerton High School.
He served in the Army during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal.
He married
Evangeline Lemke on June 9, 1951, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
He began work as a machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and retired as a general foreman in 1979, after 36 years.
He loved the outdoors and doing lapidary work.
He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce of Tukwila and Don of Everett; and a sister, Mickie Flack of Westport. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and J.L.; and a sister, Alice Curry.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Lutheran Church, 10th Street and Veneta Avenue, in Bremerton.

Benedicto Dizon Sr.
Benedicto Aquino Dizon Sr., 77, of Bremerton died Jan. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Lingayen, Pangasian, Philippines. He married
Andrea Marciano on Aug. 15, 1943, in Lingayen. She died in 1973.
Mr. Dizon was a construction laborer, retiring in 1980.
He attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
He is survived by four sons, Benedicto Jr. of Lingayen, Alejandro and Daniel, both of Bremerton, and Manuel of Olongapo City, Zambales, Philippines; two daughters, Josephine Dizon of Poulsbo and Devina Skurtu of Bremerton; two sisters, Peregrina Dizon and Encarnacion Romero, both of Lingayen; a brother, Antonio of Lingayen; 28 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment
will be at Municipal cemetery, Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Bonnie Turner
Bonnie L. Turner, 73, of Bremerton died Jan. 9, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of James and Fern Brown. She graduated from Box Elder High School and attended Utah State University.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She worked for several years at the Kingston Inn and at the Bangor Naval Base.
She married
and divorced John Clark, G. Ted Larson, Kenneth Whetham, Michael Guyton, George Burgin and Ken Turner.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Foster of Brigham City; three sons, Chris Larson, of Brigham City, Kenneth Whetham Jr. of Port Angeles and Theodore Whetham of Kingston; a sister, Francell Boman of Brigham City;
10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Poulsbo Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. At her request, she was cremated.
Philip Schmidt
Philip Sylvester Schmidt, 80, of Bremerton died Jan. 4, 2001, at Forest Ridge Convalescent Center.
Mr. Schmidt was born June 12, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Josef and Edna (Van Kuren) Schmidt. He attended Case Western Reserve High School in Cleveland and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
He married
Georgia Glassco on June 20, 1942, in Warren, Ohio.
Mr. Schmidt was an electronics engineer with Hughes Aircraft Co. in Segunde, Calif., retiring in 1983.
He was a ham radio operator and a patent agent.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Paul of Newport Beach, Calif., Glen of Silverdale, Roy of Alta Loma, Calif., and Dean of Seattle; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grand-children.
At Mr. Schmidt's request, no service is planned. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Alma Kelstrup
Alma R. Kelstrup, 89, of Bremerton died Jan. 4, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Feb. 14, 1911, in Harvey, N.D., to Mathesis and Bertha (Eamann) Fachner.
She married
Erling Kelstrup in May 1929 in Montana. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1990.
She worked and managed a dry-cleaning establishment until going to work as a cook in her son's restaurants where she was known to everybody as "Mom."
She enjoyed traveling and crocheting.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include two sons, Dick of Bremerton and Eugene of Yakima; a daughter, Idell Lanphear of Joppa, Md.; two sisters, Lilly Ediger and Annie Pickthorn, both of Montana; two brothers, Earnest and Arlie Fachner, both of Montana; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.
