Janet Corrigan
Janet Wilhemenia Corrigan, 92, of Port Orchard died Feb. 10, 2002, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
She was born Jan. 15, 1910, in Vlissingen, Netherlands, to Laurence and Wilhemenia (Simmons) Meerman. She graduated in 1929 from Cleveland High School in Seattle.
She married
Charles Corrigan on Nov. 11, 1933, in Pierce County. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Mrs. Corrigan held office manager positions with The Boeing Co. for 10 years and with Northwestern Insurance Company for 20 years. She retired in 1956.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly and Harper Evangelical Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Miller and her husband, Jack, of Port Orchard; a sister, Mary Kamerdula of Seattle; four grandchildren, Brian Miller of Tukwila and Brent, Brenda and Brady Miller, all of Port Orchard; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Harper Evangelical Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Donald Knight
Donald V. Knight, 74, of Bainbridge Island died of a heart attack Feb. 9, 2002, on Bainbridge Island.
He was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Heppner, Ore., to Edgar L. and Sylvia V. (Reece) Knight.
Mr. Knight served in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of sergeant. He also was a carpenter for 40 years.
He enjoyed hunting and photography.
Survivors include four sons, David of Taylor, S.C., Dan and Don, both of Auburn, and Daryl of Buckley; two stepdaughters, Ginger Seick of Tumwater and Geri Lynn Robinson of Great Falls, Mont.; two sisters, Ellen Palmer of
Port Orchard and Darlene Heard of Bremerton; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at The Lord's Baptist Church, 8301 McKinley Ave., in Tacoma. Memorial donations may be made to The Lord's Baptist Church at the address above.
Theresa Anne Voos
Theresa Anne Voos, 49, of Bremerton died of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm Feb. 7, 2002, at her home.
She was born Oct. 26, 1952, at Bainbridge Naval Hospital in Maryland, to Herman and Paula Walburga (Wiedenhofer) Burkett.
She graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson, Ind., in 1970. She received bachelor of arts and master's degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
She married
Frederick W. Voos on June 10, 1972, in Anderson, Ind.
Mrs. Voos taught fifth grade at Cougar Valley Elementary School in Silverdale.
She loved teaching. She also enjoyed outdoor activities such as sailing and hiking.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, now of Anderson; two sons, Justin C. and Jonathan A., both of Bremerton; one daughter, Melissa S. Young and her husband, Jeff, of Trenton, N.J.; and two brothers, Michael Burkett and his wife, Sheree, of Pendleton, Ind., and Robert Burkett of Carmel, Ind. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patti Case.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Another memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs, Wyo. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Lyla Brown
Lyla L. Brown, 60, of Bremerton died of cancer Feb. 10, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born April 22, 1941, in Wapato to Cecil and Elna (Cooley) Ince. She graduated from South Kitsap High School.
She married
Herschel E. Brown in 1993 in Pocatello, Idaho. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Brown was a home health aide for four years.
She enjoyed gardening, crochet, cards and going to rummage sales. She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include four sons, Robert J., Dale L. and Metz D. Abbott, all of Bremerton, and Herschel D. Brown of Jacksonville, Ark.; a daughter, Anna C. Bresette of Port Orchard; a brother, Lonnie C. Ince of Port Orchard; and eight grandchildren.
Services are private. The family requests no memorial donations be made.
Devon Mercado
Devon Lewis J. Mercado, three months, of Bremerton died Feb. 8, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 4, 2001, at Harrison Hospital Silverdale to Chana Mercado and Jeremy Anema.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Alec L. Dionnie of Bremerton; and grandparents, Carrie and Russell Abad of Bremerton and Mr. and Mrs. Anema of California.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Gene Grade
Eugene E. "Gene" Grade, 66, of Poulsbo died Feb. 10, 2002, at Harrison Hospital following an eight-year fight against cancer.
He was born in Little Rock, Ark., and moved to Oregon in 1947 where he lived until he joined the Navy in 1955.
After his Navy service, he entered Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore., graduating with a degree in physics in 1963. Upon graduation, he moved to Bremerton and began a 30-year career with the Navy Department.
Mr. Grade worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Station at Keyport until transferring to Kauai, Hawaii, for a seven-year tour at the Navy's Pacific Missile Range. He returned to the Trident Refit Facility at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor in the early 1980s to manage the magnetic silencing facility.
He transferred to NUWES several years later as manager of the Underwater Tracking Range and went on to work several years for Eldyne Corp. as its regional manager before retiring in the mid-1990s.
Mr. Grade held a black belt in judo and was active in many sports, especially hunting, camping, fishing, boating and four-wheeling. He was also involved in Boy Scouts, youth sports and programs, ham radio clubs, model airplane clubs, marksman clubs, rescue organizations, community service clubs and more.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Patricia (Ladd) Grade; a daughter, Jodie Steinke; a son, Jeff; his mother, Estelle; a brother, Estes; six grandchildren; two nephews; and three nieces.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scouts of America in lieu of flowers.
Mina Sacho
Mina Christa Marie Sacho, 90, of Bremerton died Feb. 11, 2002, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center in Bremerton.
She was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Prairie Creek, Neb., to Ernst August and Anna (Bruns) Kamper. She completed her education in Grand Island, Neb.
She was a clerk in the Poulsbo Bakery and was an avid gardener and award-winning quilter. She was a member of the Unity Church of Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Robert R. Mick of Gig Harbor; two daughters, Marilyn J. Frappier and her husband, Tom, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Sharon A. Samek and her husband, Richard, of Lakeland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Fredrick Mick and three husbands, Roy E. Mick, Albert Case and Leon Sacho.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service there.

Reidar Westeren
Reidar Westeren, 93, of Poulsbo died Feb. 8, 2002, at Martha and Mary Health Center.
He was born Jan. 26, 1909, in Tacoma. He had attended Washington State University for one year.
He married
Laura Hagen on July 3, 1933.
Mr. Westeren worked as a bulldozer operator in the timber industry, building logging roads. He was the first mayor of Darrington and he considered his family his greatest accomplishment.
Survivors include his wife; four sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd and Nera Westeren of Medford, Ore., Raymond and Sherrill Westeren of Seabeck, Ronald and Karla Westeren of Bend, Ore., and David and Anita Westeren of Issaquah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Bob Vane of Arlington and Karen and Roger Smith of Sammamish; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday also at Lewis with committal at Forest Lawn cemetery.
John Mandak
John Mandak, 83, of Silverdale died Feb. 8, 2002, at Naval Hospital Bremerton.
He was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Cashmir and Anna (Krocan) Mandak.
He graduated from Marquette University in Mil-waukee with a master's degree in chemistry. Following graduation, he joined the Army Air Corps and served as a meteorologist during World War II, (from 1943 to 1946) and subsequently in the Air Force Reserve, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel.
He married
Bernadine Lazewski on Aug. 15, 1942. In 1947, the couple relocated to the Silverdale area. Mr. Mandak was an instructor in chemistry and meteorology at Olympic College. He retired from OC in 1976 after a 27-year career.
Mr. Mandak enjoyed many interests, including travel, sports and the outdoors. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norman Mandak of Omak and Brian Mandak of Bremerton; four grandchildren, Steve, Carrie, Deanna and Michelle; and five great-grandchildren, Cali, Allison, Riley, Michael and Julia.

Raymond Hanna
Raymond Gene Hanna, 73, of Bremerton died Feb. 11, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born April 6, 1928, in Tillamook, Ore., to Albert and Edna Mary Stevens. He graduated from Robert A. Long High School in Longview in 1948.
He married
Avis Virginia Young on April 28, 1951. She died in 1997.
Mr. Hanna served in the Navy from 1945 to 1947, achieving the rank of fireman second class. He received two meritorious awards.
He worked in the federal civil service for 25 years, retiring in 1983 as housing director at Naval Submarine Base Bangor.
Mr. Hanna was a member of Bethel Grange 404 in Port Orchard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond Gene Hanna of Seabeck, Curtis Martin Hanna of Kingston and Christopher Stuart Hanna of Poulsbo; a daughter, Susan Jane Hanna, of Bremerton; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Whittenberg.
Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Don Anderson
Don Golden Anderson, 69, of Bremerton died Feb. 8, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Oscar Dean and Melinda (Bell) Anderson.
He attended Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Ore. He received a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Oregon State University and a master's in systems management from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Navy from July 7, 1950, to Nov. 2, 1953, achieving the rank of AD3 (T). He was awarded the National Defense and Good Conduct medals.
He was an engineer with Lockheed Missile and Space for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Anderson married
Janet M. Smith Aug. 2, 1968 in Corvallis.
He enjoyed motorcycling and bowling.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Brent and Aaron Anderson, David Proctor and his wife, Pamela, of Greenwood, Ind., and William Proctor of Bremerton; three daughters, Cinda Anderson, Donna Proctor and her husband, Andy Hohman, of Indianapolis, Ind., Janet Proctor-Deimendo and her husband, David, of Port Orchard; three brothers, Dorcel and his wife, Norma, of San Lorenzo, Calif., Dell and his wife, Ruth, of Manti, Utah, Doyle and his wife, Sophia, of Springville, Utah; a sister Elaine Haroldsen and her husband, Ray, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Anderson.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and burial services will follow at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
