Florence Podraza
Florence Podraza, 82, of Port Orchard died Dec. 21, 1998, of cancer.
She was born April 10, 1916, in Bremerton to Joe and Elizabeth (Krantz) Gutes. She was raised in Bremerton, attending Bremerton High School.
In July of 1933, she married Henry Podraza in Shelton. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mrs. Podraza was a homemaker. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Pod of Bremerton and Donald Podraza of Port Orchard; five grandchildren, Dee Burke of Bremerton, Chuck MacIntosh of Texas, Alan Pod of Belfair, Wendy Levenseller of Port Orchard and Darren Podroza of Bremerton; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 4949 Taylor Road, Bremerton.
Arrangements are by Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Group Health Hospice, Community Foundation, 1730 Minor Ave., Suite 1520, Seattle, WA 98101.

Lynn Block
Lynn M. Block, 48, of Port Orchard died Dec. 19, 1998, at her home.
She was born May 1, 1950, in Crookston, Minn., to Elmer and Berniece (Dulude) Wicklander. She was raised in Seattle and then Manchester, graduating from South Kitsap High School in 1968.
On June 22, 1968, she married Norman Block in Port Orchard.
Mrs. Block owned and operated the Capital Tavern from 1993 until her death.
Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Delvern of Olalla and Gordon of Oregon City, Ore.; two sisters, Beverly Nelson of Port Orchard and Suzann Munsch of Chile, South America. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23 at Rill Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103.

Tranquilla Homer
Tranquilla Mary Homer, 89, of Silverdale died Dec. 20, 1998, at her home, of natural causes.
She was born Feb. 19, 1909, in Sunnyside, Utah, to Tony and Irene (Pisaneschi) Barile. She was raised in Chicago. She graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1944.
On Feb. 21, 1931, she married John Henry Homer in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a lifelong homemaker.
Survivors include a son, John of Yreka, Calif.; a daughter, Penny Hill of Silverdale; a brother, Philip of San Diego; a sister, Rita of Carson City, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Roni, Kim, Donald, Gina, Neil, David and Tabitha; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial and celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 24 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 11070 Old Frontier Road, Silverdale.
Interment at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

Ann Massie
Ann Evelyn Massie, 99, of Bremerton died Dec. 18, 1998.
She was born July 26, 1899, in Centerville, Ore., to William and Mary (Van Den Berg) Van Der Ven. She was raised in Oregon.
Mrs. Massie worked in the dry-cleaning business throughout the United States. She was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Survivors include three daughters, Annette Plant of Longview, Dorothy Rudolph and Pat Milleson, both of Poulsbo; a stepdaughter, Linda Phelps of Missouri; a stepson, Gary of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Sheri, Laurie, Rusty, Ralph, Brian, Lylee, Alice and Evelyn; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Massie, in 1981.
A private family service will be conducted. Interment icon will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

George Rehberg
George T. Rehberg, 84, of Bremerton died Dec. 20, 1998.
He was born March 7, 1914, in Portland, Ore. He was raised in Portland, Ore.
On Dec. 27, 1986, he married Maude Moen in Bremerton.
Mr. Rehberg served in the Marine Corps.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He was a member of the Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles and was a former chess champion in Kitsap County.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley; two stepsons, Carl Labonge and Dwight Graham; a stepdaughter, Sharon Keller; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and a grandson, Michael Enriquez.
Visitation will be at 12 p.m. Dec. 23 with a memorial service following at 1 p.m., both at Miller Woodlawn Chapel.
Interment will be at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Jesse Hill
Jesse A. Hill, 89, died Dec. 17, 1998, in Lynden, where she had resided for only a few days at the Christian Health Care Center.
She was born on Jan. 14, 1909, in Canada to William and Amy (Russell) Murray. She was raised and educated in Canada. She worked as a licensed dietician, at Columbia Valley Hospital and in New York.
She moved to Bremerton in 1980 and had been a member of the Holly Community Club.
Survivors include a son, William Hill of Sumas; stepsons Arthur Hill Jr. of New Jersey, Robert Hill of Manchester, N.H., and Charles Hill of South Raymond, Mass.; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Her husband, Arthur, whom she married Dec. 27, 1944, in Cambridge, Mass., preceded her in death. Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden is handling the arrangements. There will be no service.

Rita Johnson
Rita Lou Johnson, 77, of Bainbridge Island died Dec. 15, 1998, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Carlsborg, Wash. She graduated from high school in Sequim and from Olympic College in 1958.
On Nov. 19, 1939, she married Raymond L. Johnson on Bainbridge Island.
Mrs. Johnson worked as a licensed practical nurse until retiring in 1973.
She was a Grange member and also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, James, Bradford, and Dale, all of Bainbridge Island; two daughters, Judy Wyvel of Bainbridge Island and Karen Myers of Silverdale; three brothers, Lester Lampman of Whidbey Island, Sherman and George Iverson, both of Port Angeles; two sisters, Virginia Iverson and Louise White, both of Forks; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 21 at Seabold cemetery on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bainbridge Island Firefighters Club on Bainbridge Island.

Leora Fenton
Leora E. Fenton, 85, of Bremerton died Dec. 16, 1998, at Forest Ridge Convalescent Center.
She was born April 10, 1913, in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Albert and Margaret (Stromberg) Loomer.
She was raised and educated in Minnesota.
On March 6, 1942, she married Alvie J. Fenton in Bremerton.
Mrs. Fenton was a homemaker all of her adult life.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Creecy of Port Orchard, Diane LaMott of Bremerton and Doris Knox of Poulsbo; two sisters, Avis Kritzer of Orange, Calif., and Joanne Wilbur of Downey, Calif.; four brothers, Kenneth Loomer of Mesa, Ariz., Curtis Loomer of Fort Atkinson, Wis., Gordon Loomer of Beaverton, Ore., and Eugene Loomer of Westminster, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978, her brother, Marvin, and her sister, Marjorie R oth.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Dec. 21, at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment icon will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3434 Martin Way NE, Olympia, WA 98506-5047.

Mildred Price
Mildred M. Price, 74, of Port Orchard died Dec. 15, 1998, at her home.
She was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Bridgeport, Neb., to Martha and Guy Hart.
She was raised in Commerce, Okla.
On June 16, 1944, she married Melvin Price in Commerce, Okla.
Mrs. Price was a homemaker. She and her husband came to the Northwest in 1945 to Port Orchard and worked together in mink ranching for almost 20 years.
She was a past worthy matron of Port Orchard Chapter No. 44 of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; one son, David of Port Orchard; one daughter, Melvadene Gabrilski of Tacoma; two sisters, Margaret Lester and Helen Feaster, both of Port Orchard; and one grandson, James Natland of Port Orchard.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 20, at Rill Chapel. Private interment will be held at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
