Blanche Foster
Blanche Killough Foster, 92, of Bremerton died
Dec. 25, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Jan. 16, 1909, in Gotebo, Okla., to Oscar and Della (Carroll) Killough. She graduated from high school.
She married
Charles Holloway Foster in 1938 in Oklahoma City. He died in 1972.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed family, friends, church activities, sightseeing and playing bridge.
She was Episcopalian.
Survivors include a son, Charles H. Foster III of Bremerton; a sister, Pauline Nance of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Killough, and a sister, Lucille Dinger.
Mrs. Foster requested no services.

Bill Bissell
A musical tribute to the late Bill Bissell, the former West Bremerton High School music director who went on to fame as the University of Washington marching band director, is planned for Wednesday in Seattle.
The tribute, featuring current and former members of the Husky band, starts at 3 p.m. at the Hec Ed Pavilion at Bank of America Arena.
Bissell, a Bremerton resident from 1956 to 1974, died in his sleep Dec. 19 at the age of 70.
He, with UW yell leader Robb Weller, is credited with introducing "The Wave" to college football.
Richard Wantoch
Richard Wantoch, 86, of Bremerton died of natural causes Dec. 19, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Chico, Calif. He graduated in 1933 from Bremerton High School.
He married
Dorothy R. Stell on Feb. 1, 1937, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1991.
Mr. Wantoch served with the Army in Alaska and in Europe from 1942 to 1945, achieving the rank of technical sergeant.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1967 as superintendent of mails.
His hobbies included gardening, shuffleboard, golfing, collecting stamps and traveling. He was a longtime member of the Bremerton Yacht Club and enjoyed skippering his ketch, Mareva, through local waters up to Alaska.
He is survived by a son, Richard T. and his wife, Inge, of Port Orchard; two grandchildren, Frank Thompson of Seattle and Luther Thompson and wife, Kim, of Seabeck; and two great-grandchildren, Mekenzie and Madison.
At the family's request, there will be no service.
Eugene Dunlap
Eugene F. Dunlap, 84, of Bremerton died of natural causes Dec. 21, 2001, of in Bremerton.
He was born March 7, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from McKinley High School in St. Louis.
He married
Mary Katherine Tammany. She preceded him in death in 1992.
Mr. Dunlap served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945. He later worked as a pipefitter until his retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of St. Charles, Mo. and Michael of Bremerton; a sister, Eva Jean Baker; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Noma Lane.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Ursula Peterson
Former Bremerton resident Ursula H. Peterson, 92, of Bothell died Dec. 20, 2001, in Bothell.
She was born June 11, 1909, in Muncie, Ind., to Albert and Alsie (Alley) Herman. She graduated from Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Ind., in 1927.
She married
Carl A.V. Peterson in January 1945 in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Mrs. Peterson was a bookkeeper for more than 50 years, retiring in 1983.
She enjoyed music and church secretarial work. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth V. of Bothell; a nephew, Noel Herman of Concord, Mass.; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Noel Herman, in 1969.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment
will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Betty Lou Lloyd
Betty Lou Lloyd, 76, of Poulsbo died Dec. 25, 2001, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Wenatchee to Gordon and Grace (Kelly) McMillan. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma and from Tacoma Business College.
She married
Robert G. Lloyd on Nov. 11, 1949, in Tacoma. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Lloyd had worked in food service with the South Kitsap School District for 12 years, retiring in 1979.
She enjoyed dancing and swimming.
Survivors include a son, Greg of Bremerton; a daughter, Sherryl Hawes of Bremerton; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Inurnment will be in Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Theodore Blakey
Theodore Raymond Blakey, 68, of Bremerton died of heart failure Dec. 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1933, in Bremerton to Walker G. and Minnie (Burns) Blakey. He was educated in Bremerton, having attended Bremerton High School for one year.
Mr. Blakey served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 as a private second class. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Occupancy Medal (Germany).
He later was a marine machinist in Shop 38 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1989.
Mr. Blakey enjoyed playing with heavy equipment and doing automotive work.
Survivors include three brothers, Tom and Dick, both of Bremerton, and Bob of Keyport; and a sister, Joy Thomas of Bremerton. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Kimsey and June Dyson; and a brother, Stephen.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel with interment following at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Edna Keenan
Edna Keenan, 85, of Tracyton died of natural causes Dec. 24, 2001, at an adult family home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1916, on Vashon Island to Emil and Albertine Andersen. She graduated from high school in the Tacoma area.
She married
Hayward Keenan on June 21, 1947, in Seattle. Mrs. Keenan was a homemaker.
She enjoyed fishing and researching her Norwegian heritage.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sherry Keenan of Tracyton and Richard and Kathy Keenan of Snohomish; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Emil and Herb Andersen.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Tracyton cemetery with a reception following at Tracyton Methodist Church.
Lois Smith
Former Silverdale resident Lois Smith, 89, of Spokane died Dec. 22, 2001, in Spokane.
She was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George L. and Emma (Hadler) Price. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City.
She married
Harry O. Smith in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1976.
A homemaker, Mrs. Smith had worked as a professional seamstress for nine years.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include four sons, Jack Trelawney of Greenacres, Robert Smith of Concord, Calif., Haven Homburg of Cuba and Russel Smith of Poulsbo; a daughter, Nancy Bryson of Las Vegas; three sisters, Gladys, June and Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way in Spokane. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, also at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment
follows at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Dane Henderson
Dane Allen Henderson, 43, of Bremerton died
Dec. 21, 2001, of heart failure at his home.
He was born May 27, 1958, in Evanston, Wyo., to Boyd and Janece (McDermott) Henderson. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1977.
He married
Joyce Cooper on Sept. 28, 2001, in Turnersville, Texas.
Mr. Henderson had worked as a janitor for 20 years. He was employed by RMH Services in Bremerton at the time of his death.
He loved animals.
Survivors include his wife; his father; a son, Roger Allen Lee Henderson of Bremerton; one brother, Kevin Charles Henderson of Port Orchard; four sisters, Lindy Brooks of Port Ludlow, Kay Henderson of Port Orchard, Debbie Wright of Ogden, Utah, and Vicki Hardy of Brigham, Utah; his maternal grandmother, Angie McDermott of Bremerton; many nieces and nephews; and his friends at RMH Services. He was preceded in death by his mother.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2225 Perry Ave. in East Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
Patsy Jo Pederson
Patsy Jo Pederson, 52, of Port Orchard died Dec. 21, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born July 12, 1949, in Richland to Walter and Wanda Mae (Mead) Patterson.
She married
Gary Pederson.
Mrs. Pederson had worked as an administrative assistant at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 21 years.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Wanda Larsen of Manchester; her father, of Richland; two daughters, Nikkoly Stanley of Port Orchard and Natacha Deardorf of Poulsbo; and five grandchildren.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
