Ervin Webb
Ervin Webb, 51, of Bremerton died following a lengthy illness Dec. 2, 2001, at Harborview Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1950, in Yakima to Coley and Lillie (Reedy) Webb. He attended school in Bremerton.
He worked in maintenance for 20 years.
He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spending time with his family.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his parents of Moses Lake; three brothers, Coley Jr., Victor and Coledale, all of Bremerton; three sisters, Lucille Lowe, Laura Webb and Kathy Webb, all of Bremerton; and his grandmother, Lucille Dale of Moses Lake. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eric.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Lori Vail
Lori Margaret Vail, 48, of Bainbridge Island died Dec. 3, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1953, on Bainbridge Island to Henry and Margaret (Loomis) Falk. She graduated in 1971 from Bainbridge High School and in 1972 from Olympic College.
She was a nurse for 29 years.
She married
Gregory Vail on Aug. 18, 1973, on Bainbridge Island.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Anne and Allison, both of Bainbridge Island; and two brothers, Charles Falk of Bainbridge Island and Neal Falk of Seabeck.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, Valley Road and Sunrise Drive on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to Bainbridge Little League or Bainbridge Youth Soccer.
Richard Jones
Richard Allen Jones, 46, of Port Orchard died Nov. 29, 2001, at home.
He was born July 15, 1955, in Port Angeles to Al and Gertrude (Baumgartner) Jones.
He married
Marlene Furrer on July 15, 1996, in Port Orchard. She resides in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Timothy Butler of Port Orchard; a daughter, Leanora Jones of Port Orchard; two stepdaughters, Seyneva Newman of Port Orchard and Debra Butler-Peak of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, David of Bremerton and Terry of Port Orchard; two stepbrothers, Duane Waldron of Bremerton and Delbert Jacobs of Port Angeles; two sisters, Barbara McWilliam and Karen Bjerke, both of Bremerton; seven grandchildren, Scott Newman, Amanda Benavidez, Shona Collins, Corey Newman, Virgil Butler, Leah Newman and Michael Newman; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Pam Hendershot; and his stepfather, Eugene Waldron.
At his request, there will be no service.
Maurice Herber
Maurice Oliver Herber, 87, of Bremerton died Dec. 4, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1914, in Tacoma to Moses and Olga (Carlson) Herber. He attended Lincoln and Stadium high schools in Tacoma.
He married
Irene Danielson on Aug. 24, 1940, in Tacoma.
He was a pipefitter in Shop 56 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 32 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of Masons Lodge 117, Olympic Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and was on the board of Manette Rainbow for Girls.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Culbreath of Grand Forks, N.D., and Judy Bass of
Bremerton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Estelle Herber and Ovida "Vi" Ziegenfuss.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, also at Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Jerry Helms
Former Kitsap County resident Jerry Helms, 61, of Anaheim, Calif., died after suffering a heart attack while skydiving Nov. 25, 2001, in California.
He was born Feb. 12, 1940, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Oliver and Lucille (Humphries) Helms. He graduated in 1958 from Central Kitsap High School.
He married
Joan Tepel in 1966 in California.
He was a production manager for a printing firm in Los Angeles for 35 years.
He enjoyed skydiving and was a licensed parachute rigger.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Bremerton; a son, Jim of Anaheim; two daughters, Julie and Jaylene, both of Anaheim; a brother, Jim of Auburn; and a grandson, Anthony. He was preceded in death by his father in 1992.
A service was held Saturday in Yorba Linda, Calif.

Gene Moran
Gene S. Moran, 78, of Bremerton died Nov. 26, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born April 6, 1923, in Gold Bar to Joseph and Sybil (Dutton) Moran. He graduated in 1941 from Monroe High School.
He served as a staff sergeant in the Army from 1943 to 1946 and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
He married
Anna Kraft on Aug. 15, 1943, in Monroe.
He was a purchasing agent for 42 years, retiring in 1988.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and was a former president of the Eagles.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce of Winthrop and Craig of Bremerton; a sister, Leona Bennett of Bremerton; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Fran Pickeral of Mountlake Terrace, and two brothers, Harry Moran of Bremerton and Syril Moran of Everett.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Louise Hollop
Louise Ann Hollop, 89, of Kingston, died Dec. 2, 2001, at home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Hastings-On-Hudson, N.Y., to Vladimir and Byonislana Hollop. She attended high school in Hastings, graduating in 1930.
She was an office manager in Yonkers, N.Y., for 25 years, retiring in 1974.
She enjoyed reading the Bible and was a member of Eglon Community Church.
Survivors include a son, Lester Page of Kingston; a sister, Susan Johnson of Yonkers; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur William Page, in 1964.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hansville Community cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Helen Dixon
Helen Ina Dixon, 80, of Silverdale died Dec. 3, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Central Point, Ore., to John and Myrtle (Baldwin) Thornbrue. She graduated in 1939 from Leavenworth High School. She was the Apple Blossom Princess in the annual Apple Blossom Parade in Leavenworth.
She married
Bryan G. Dixon on March 31, 1942, in Philadelphia. He preceded her in death in October.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a member of Navy Yard City Bible Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Wright of Port Orchard, Teresa Day of Preston, Wash., and Marcia Dixon of Bremerton; a sister, Ruth Ogden of Fairfield, Wash.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Thornbrue.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Dec. 11 at Navy Yard City Bible Church.

Jeanne Higgs
Jeanne D. Higgs, 74, of Bremerton died of pancreatic cancer Nov. 27, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Luverne, Minn., to Vernon and C. Fern (Spears) Scott. She was a 1945 graduate of Bremerton High School.
She was a businesswoman and bookkeeper for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed family gatherings, making them special events, and gardening. She was recognized in The Sun as one of the first Unsung Heroes for her volunteer work.
She was a member of the Unity Church of Bremerton.
Survivors include her husband, Hurley "Bud" Higgs; three sons, Joseph Zdenek of Shoreline, Gregory Higgs of Lebonan, Ore., and Curtis Higgs of Silverdale; four daughters, Deborah Moore and Russelle Pike, both of Bremerton, Wendy Sienkiewich of Port Orchard and Cindy Heeter of Silverdale; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Unity Church of Bremerton, 1712 Trenton Ave.
