Annette Fingarson
Annette Fingarson, 74, of Bremerton died March 23, 2002, in Bremerton from complications of diabetes.
She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Everett to Fritz and Frieda Amend. She graduated from Everett High School in 1948 and from Providence Hospital Nurses Training, also in Everett, in 1949.
She married
Donald Fingarson on Jan. 27, 1951.
Mrs. Fingarson had been active in PTA and was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (T.O.P.S.). She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bruce Fingarson of Everett and Brian Fingarson and his wife Julie of Auburn; a sister, Mrs. Earl "Susie" Wilson; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Maggie Waldron Margaret
"Maggie" Waldron, 66, of Bremerton died March 17, 2002, at her home.
She was born April 29, 1935, in Scotland to Harry and Margaret (Wilson) MacNaughton. She was educated in Scotland.
She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1977. She married
Martin "Marty" Waldron on Jan. 6, 1968, in New York City.
Mrs. Waldron had worked as a ward messenger at Harrison Hospital for 21 years. She was retired.
Survivors include her husband; three brothers, Robert, John and David MacNaughton, all of Scotland; a sister, Irene Moriarty of Bremerton; and a nephew, Mark Moriarty of Montana. She was preceded in death by five brothers, all of Scotland.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Nancy Grzybinski
Nancy Jeane Grzybinski, 47, of Belfair died March 24, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born Dec. 6, 1954, in Moses Lake to C. Lloyd and Violet Jeane (Scheller) Rushmeier. She graduated from Glacier High School in Burien in 1974.
She married
Alex Grzybinski III on Oct. 28, 1986, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Grzybinski worked as an attendant counselor at the Frances Haddon Morgan Center in Bremerton. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Burien.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, now of Tacoma; four brothers, Randy Rushmeier and his wife Bonnie of Tacoma, Richard Rushmeier and his wife Christine of Gig Harbor, Loren G. Rushmeier and his wife Tina of Orting and Larry Rushmeier and his wife Patricia of Federal Way; a sister, Mary Helser of Kent; her grandmother, Pauline Rushmeier of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, also at Lewis, followed by an interment service at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Marg Shanahan
Margrete "Marg" Shanahan, 73, of Port Orchard died March 17, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center of lung cancer and leukemia.
She was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Lomita, Calif., to Lorenzo and Lucia (Ravinale) Taricco. She attended Narbonne High School in Lomita.
In her younger years, she was an accomplished real estate renovator and gardener. She enjoyed gardening and making gemstone jewelry.
She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for more than 22 years and was instrumental in starting and leading an AA group.
Survivors include a son, James Shanahan and his wife Carol of Guatemala; a daughter, Kathy Foster and her husband Mike of Port Orchard; two sisters, Lucille Lane of San Pedro, Calif., and Mary Sidwell of Torrance, Calif.; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Taricco, and a sister, Rose Culbertson.
At her request, no services will be held. Her family will scatter her ashes at sea.
In honor of Margrete Shanahan's life, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Kitsap County.
Mary Carey
Mary Lucille Carey, 69, of Hansville died of pancreatic cancer March 22, 2002, at Martha& Mary Health Center.
She was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Williston, N.D., to George H. and Anna (Bratlien) Raffety. She graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle in 1951.
She married
her high school sweetheart Allan F. "Al" Carey on Jan. 17, 1953, in Seattle.
Mrs. Carey had worked as a cook in the Shoreline School District. She retired in 1990.
She was an active member of Bayside Community Church in Kingston.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael E. Carey and his wife Char of Hansville and John P. Carey and his wife Holly of Mukilteo; a daughter, Cheryl Gagnon of Tacoma; a sister, Jean Ouren and her husband, Clifford, of Battle Lake, Minn.; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Ann Strain of Higbee, Mo.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bayside Community Church. Inurnment will be at Hansville cemetery.

Lemar Beach
Ervin Lemar Beach, 73, of Port Orchard died March 21, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born April 26, 1928, in Yakima to Frank and Enda (Lawrence) Beach.
He married
Madonna "Donna" Harding on June 16, 1971, in Port Orchard.
Mr. Beach served in the Navy for seven years, achieving the rank of boatswain's mate second class and participating in the Korean War. He later worked as a rigger at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for many years, retiring in 1983.
A shuffleboard enthusiast, he competed at the High Tide Tavern in Port Orchard for 30 years. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his cat, "B.J."
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Audrey Weekes of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sons, Melvin Buresh of Home and Donald Buresh of Seattle; two grandchildren, Blake and Hailey Weekes, both of Idaho Falls; and three cousins, Vern Nelson and Toots Rusk, both of Port Orchard, and Judy Andersen of Twisp.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Mary Boulds
Mary Ellen (Gohlke) Boulds, 53, of Port Orchard died of cancer March 19, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Snoqualmie to Clifford and Vivian (Turnbull) Gohlke. She grew up in Snoqualmie and attended school in the Snoqualmie School District.
She married
Robert L. Boulds on Dec. 30, 1982, in Port Orchard. Mrs. Boulds was a homemaker.
She enjoyed quilting and animals. She also was an avid doll collector and had a passion for gardening.
She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her husband; her father; one stepson, Bobby of Port Orchard; one daughter, April Henderson of Bremerton; two brothers, Bob and Rick Gohlke, both of Snoqualmie; three sisters, Kathy Kerr of North Bend, Gail Hendricks of Snoqualmie and Terry Daubert of Maple Valley; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her mother; a brother, Dan Gohlke; and a sister, Deborah Gohlke.
A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 39025 SE Alpha St. in Snoqualmie. A graveside service follows at 2 p.m. at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Virginia McIntyre
Virginia McIntyre, 84, of Bremerton died March 16, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She was born March 29, 1917, in Shelton to Alfred and Natella Zizz. She married
Frank McIntyre on Sept. 16, 1939.
She was an active member of several flower clubs and animal care organizations. She loved gardening and was never far from a beloved cat or dog.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Frank; one son, Michael of Bremerton; and one daughter, Patricia of Tacoma.

Mak McKim
Kerry A. "Mak" McKim, 56, of Port Orchard died March 20, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 14, 1946, in Hartford, Conn., to Albert and Priscilla (Fay) McKim. He graduated from Basin High School in Basin, Wyo., in 1964.
He married
S. Louise Miller on March 25, 1967, in San Diego.
Mr. McKim served in the Navy from 1964 to 1993, retiring as a master chief. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He enjoyed leather crafting, tinkering on old cars and working in the yard.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Kerry Raymond of Santee, Calif.; one daughter, Sonya Joann Elder of Port Orchard; one brother, Dana I. of Burnville, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church of Port Orchard, 2483 Mitchell Road SE. His cremated remains will be scattered at sea by the Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Jessie Weller
Jessie E. Weller, 82, of Bremerton died March 8, 2002, in Spokane.
She was born Jan. 15, 1920, in St. Maries, Idaho, to Oscar and Mabel (Tyler) Blake. She graduated from St. Maries High School in 1938.
She married
Jack R. Weller on March 25, 1951, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Mrs. Weller had worked at Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union and managed Bay Shore Apartments. She retired in 1984.
Her main interests were her family and gardening. She was a member of Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Mike Edmunds of Spokane; one sister, Norma Malone of Orem, Utah; and three grandchildren, Michael, John and Molly Edmunds.
At her request, no service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Hazen and Jaeger in Spokane.

Fredrick Herold Jr.
Fredrick William Herold Jr., 51, of Belfair died March 18, 2002, at his home of cancer.
He was born Aug. 12, 1950, in Astoria, Ore., to Fredrick and Georgia Herold.
He married
Myrna (Kelly) Ritter on March 13, 1979.
Mr. Herold had worked as a certified nursing assistant in Montana and throughout Washington for 14 years. He was most recently employed at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Previously, he had worked in many different career fields as a commercial fisherman, roofer, small-engine mechanic, poker dealer and cowboy (his boyhood dream).
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Alisa Southon, Dena Adams and Bridget Schei, all of Montana, Jacqueline Guymon of Idaho, and Brandy Gonzales and Windy Herold, both of California; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; his father; four sisters, Barbara Goin, Judy Pullinger and Peggy Hoffman, all of Oregon, and Kathy Olsen of Washington; two brothers, Paul Hansen of West Virginia and Donald Hansen of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and a granddaughter, Ariana Platts.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Belfair.
