Larena Robinson
Larena Jewel Robinson, 79, of Poulsbo died Feb. 26, 2002, at Virginia Mycon's Adult Family Home in Bremerton.
She was born June 21, 1922, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Herman and Myrtle (Hester) Toney.
She married
Elmer C. Robinson in Van Buren, Ark., in November 1938. They were married
60 years. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mr. and Mrs. Robinson had spent most of their married
life in La Habra, Calif. She had lived in Poulsbo approximately one year.
Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, oil painting and gardening. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Thomas and her husband, Ron, of Placentia, Calif., and Linda Poole and her husband, Tom, of Poulsbo; three grandchildren, Rob Sharp of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Randy Sharp of Placentia and Steve Baker of Memphis, Tenn.
A memorial service was held at the home of her daughter Linda in Poulsbo. Arrangements were under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.
Louise Kreidler Grandy
Louise Kreidler Grandy, 93, of Rocky Point in Bremerton died March 20, 2002, after a short illness.
She was born Jan. 16, 1909, in Burnett and attended school in Buckley. Louise graduated from nursing school at Tacoma General Hospital in 1931.
She worked at Harrison Hospital for 21 years until her retirement in 1971.
Survivors include a daughter, Gerry Lumenello and her husband, Richard, of Boise, Idaho; two sons, Brad Kreidler and his wife, Brigitte, of Lich, Germany, and Rick Kreidler and his wife, Anne Marie, of Shoreline; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three stepchildren, Calvin Grandy, Linda Kuhr and Joan Ferguson.
Services are planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Marian Sellar
Marian F. Sellar, 83, of Bremerton died of heart failure March 21, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 15, 1918, in Stratford to Joseph and Blanche (Agens) Dilley. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1936.
She married
James A. Sellar on Nov. 28, 1936, in Wenatchee. He died in 1993.
Mrs. Sellar enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and spending time with her Yorkshire terrier, "Holly." She attended St. Luke's Methodist Church in Bremerton.
She was a member of PEO, the Bremerton Yacht Club Skipperettes and the Children's Hospital Orthopedic Guild. She was instrumental in founding the Junior Women's League in association with the Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Sellar and his wife, Jan, and Robert Sellar and his wife, Jenny, all of Bremerton; a sister, Nadine McGaughey of Quincy; five grandchildren, Mandy, Carrie, Jon, Stephanie and Nicholas; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Blair of Spokane.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Bay Pointe Retirement Community, 966 Oyster Bay Court in Bremerton. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Edith Byrnes
Edith Helen Byrnes, 88, of Poulsbo died March 16, 2002, at Liberty Shores Retirement Center in Poulsbo.
She was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Butte, Mont., to Antonio and Maria (Pattrioli) Stagnoli. She attended high school in Butte.
She married
Thomas Edward Byrnes on April 14, 1934, in Butte. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2002.
Mrs. Byrnes was a homemaker. She was Catholic.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas and Arthur, both of Seattle, and Emmett and his wife, Bonnie, of Yakima; a daughter, Edie Jo Daub and her husband, Thomas, of Seattle; a brother-in-law, Arthur Byrne of Butte; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two grandsons, Kelly and Mark.
Services will be held later. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.

Cecil Burns
Former Bremerton resident Cecil I. Burns, 89, of Kent died March 15, 2002, in Tacoma.
He was born Dec. 4, 1912, in Havre, Mont.
He married
Enid Obert on July 20, 1948, in Bremerton.
Mr. Burns lived in Washington for 87 years, spending the last 26 years in King County. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a shipfitter for 30 years, retiring in 1967.
He was a member of Covington Community Church in Covington, Wash. He enjoyed dogs and had owned many types and sizes over the years.
Survivors include his wife, now living in Federal Way; two sons, Bruce of Kent and Michael Kertulla of Allyn; two daughters, Becky Waipa of Hilo, Hawaii, and Jo Ann Zitvay of Mercer Island; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Covington Community Church, 17455 Wax Road.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Melody Dickinson
Melody Dawn Dickinson, 40, of Bremerton died March 16, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born Nov. 17, 1961, in Colorado to Don and Janet Reiber. She attended Vista High School in Vista, Calif., received her GED in 1979 and had attended vocational technical school in Tacoma.
She had worked as a dietary manager.
She enjoyed fishing and singing. She had been a member of Crossroads Neighborhood Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Alex Fellinger of Bremerton; two daughters, Amanda and Ashley Fellinger, both of Bremerton; a stepbrother, Gary Baker of California; three sisters, Tammy Borg of South Dakota and Laurel Christy and Donica Pore, both of Washington; and a stepsister, Lisa Baker of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Don and Myrtle Thorsgard and Carl and Bertha Reiber.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Crossroads Neighborhood Church in Bremerton.
John Long
John William Long, 57, of Bremerton died March 16, 2002, in Bremerton.
He was born July 10, 1944, in Ontario, Ore., to Harold and Gladys (Sparks) Long. He was raised and educated in the Boise, Idaho, area.
He married
Joanne A. Markum on Oct. 17, 1964, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Mr. Long served in the Army National Guard from Feb. 4, 1962, until July 30, 1962, returning to Idaho for the remainder of his enlistment. He also served in the Navy from 1963 to 1966 as an airman.
He was a warehouseman at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport until his retirement.
Mr. Long enjoyed fishing and motorcycle riding. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife and his mother-in-law, Matilda Ethridge of Bremerton.
A memorial service will be held later.

Jason Alexander Grimes, age 4 months, of Bremerton died March 15, 2002, in Bremerton.
He was born Nov. 23, 2001, in Silverdale to Tiffany Ann Grimes of Bremerton.
He is survived by his mother; his grandparents, Kevin Grimes of Bremerton and Andrea Grimes of Florida; his great-grandparents, Chuck and Hattie Grimes of Seabeck, Gloria Matthews of Seattle and Regina Knudsen of Grayland; his aunt, Felicia Grimes of Bremerton; and his uncle, Justin Grimes of Bremerton.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Christian Life Center in Port Orchard, followed by a reception and a procession to Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Cayden James Tormena-Lewandowski
Cayden James Tormena-Lewandowski, 1 week old, of Bremerton died March 20, 2002, in Tacoma.
He was born March 13, 2002, in Tacoma to Jamie Lynn Tormena and Robert Roe Lewandowski of Bremerton.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Julian Antonio Hidalgo of California; two sisters, Asheley Laura Aleria and Amber Nicole Aleria, both of California; and his grandparents, Patricia May Tracy of Bremerton and Bob and Reni Lewandowski of California.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Florence Lentz
Florence Evelyn Lentz, 76, of Port Orchard died of heart failure March 16, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Port Orchard to Edgar and Emma (Stone) Anderson. She attended South Kitsap High School.
Mrs. Lentz was a homemaker. She was a member of Washington Old Time Fiddlers, the Associated Clubs of Waterman and Elim Lutheran Church, both in Port Orchard.
Survivors include a son, Don of Olympia; a daughter, Sonia Lee Cabrera of Georgia; a brother, Ed Anderson of Port Orchard; a sister, Blanche Clark of Pe Ell; six grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Pal; a brother, Lewis Anderson; and a sister, Grace Steele.
A social gathering in remembrance of Mrs. Lentz will be from 4 to 8 p.m. April 6 at the Associated Clubs of Waterman on East Hillcrest Drive near Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Charles Lutes
Charles Wesley Lutes, 92, of Bremerton died March 16, 2002, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Oct. 27, 1909, in Andrews, Ind., to the Rev. Ernest E. and Jessie R. (Frase) Lutes. He graduated from Parker High School in Parker, Ind., in 1927 and received an associate degree from Olympic College in Bremerton.
He married
Lois V. Sanderson on June 30, 1944, in San Pedro, Calif.
Mr. Lutes served in the Navy for 30 years, retiring in 1969. He was a disaster control officer, achieving the rank of lieutenant. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (with two stars) and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Retired Officers Association and the Methodist church. His father had been a Methodist circuit rider in central Indiana.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald E. and his wife, Cheryl, of Port Orchard and Robert C. and his wife, Donna, of Bremerton; two daughters, Leona E. Haiker and her husband, Richard, of LaHabra, Calif., and Meredith A. Cox and her husband, Neal, of Bremerton; a brother, E. Joyce Lutes and his wife, Alma Rae, of Marion, Ind.; two sisters, Margaret Hicks and her husband, Arthur, of Lafayette, Ind., and Frances Lutes of Rossville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Beth Lutes.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
