Lynn Schott
Lynn S. Schott, 47, of Indianola died March 11, 2002, in Indianola.
She was born March 23, 1954, in North Chicago, Ill., to David V. and Marilyn (Dunkelberg) Skillman. She graduated from Nutrier High School in Winnetka, Ill., and from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. She also had attended graduate classes at Florida Atlantic College.
She was an artist and teacher. She enjoyed art and making pottery.
She had been active in several civic organizations.
Survivors include her father of Evanston, Ill.; her mother, Marilyn Gellersted of Glenview, Ill.; a daughter, Hadley Margaret Schott; two brothers, David V. Skillman of Addison, Ill., and Stephen L. Skillman of Fort Worth, Texas; and her grandmother, Constance V. Stolley of Pekin, Ill. She was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy P. Skillman.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.
Billee Rosenbarger
Billee F. Rosenbarger, 88, of Shelton, formerly of Port Orchard, died March 6, 2002, in Shelton.
She was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Wisdom, Mont., to Reece and Florence Armitage. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1931 and from beauty school in Seattle.
She married
Paul Rosenbarger on Feb. 14, 1935, in Bremerton. He died in 1991.
Mrs. Rosenbarger was a beautician, owning and operating a shop in Bremerton from 1932 to 1937.
She was a member of Women of Rotary, Ladies of Elks, the Winter Club, Triad Sorority, PEO chapters in Bremerton and Puyallup and Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton. She was involved in the Girl Scout Council in Mason County when her daughters were active in scouting.
She wrote cookbooks, taught beauty skills and painted with watercolors. Other interests included sewing, arts and crafts, mycology, photography, camping, traveling and playing the piano.
Survivors include two daughters, Gean Smith and her husband, Jerry, of Tacoma and Doni Topel and her husband, Ken, of Shelton; a sister-in-law, Irene Armitage of Allyn; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Armitage, of Allyn.

Lydia Broga
Lydia Alma Broga, 91, of Bremerton died March 12, 2002, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 31, 1910, in Westfield, Mass., to Ferdinand and Anna Elizabeth (Blum) Kasewurm. She graduated from Westfield High School and from Normal School also in Westfield.
She married
Charles Norman Broga Sr. on April 20, 1935, in Albany, N.Y. He died in 2001.
Mrs. Broga was a retired Lutheran school teacher.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. She was a member of Silverdale Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charles N. Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Bremerton, Gary A. of San Francisco and Donald D. and his wife, Gaylynn, of Silverdale; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Entombment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Arthur Milton Lind
Retired Lt. Col. Arthur Milton Lind, 89, of Bremerton died March 9, 2002, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 17, 1912, in Dawson, Yukon Territory, Canada, to Carl and Laura Helene (Josvold) Lind. He graduated from Seattle's Garfield High School in 1920 and attended various military schools during his Army career.
He married
Marion Catherine Ward on Dec. 20, 1973, in Bremerton.
Mr. Lind served in the Army from 1946 to 1966, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was the recipient of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music and all sports. He was a member of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Marilynne Belden and her husband, Gary, of Vancouver, Wash., Judy Malinen and her husband, Mike, Sue Browning and her husband, Jay, and Esther Umphfres and her husband, Dennis, all of Astoria, Ore., and Kathy Peterson and her husband, Dennis, of Port Orchard; two sisters, Thelma Donnally and Evelyn Chitwood, both of Seattle; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Belden, and a brother, Harold Lind.
A celebration of life graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery's entrance staging area at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Lillian Macanas
Lillian Guerrero Macanas, 47, of Bremerton died March 11, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born April 11, 1954, in Tamuning, Guam, to Venancio and Joaquina (Flores) Guerrero. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Guam in 1973.
She married
Victor Macanas Sr. on Dec. 30, 1972, in Guam. Mrs. Macanas was a homemaker.
She enjoyed bingo, karaoke and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Macanas and his wife, Linda, and Victor Macanas Jr. and his fiancee, Lisa Cruz, all of Bremerton; a daughter, Vicky Ann G. Taylor and her husband, Danial, of Kent; four brothers, Robert, Benny, David and George Guerrero; four sisters, Jovita and Lorranine Guerrero, Martha G. San Nicholas and CID Guevara; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, with a rosary starting at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rill Chapel.
Dean Rusch
Wesley Dean Rusch, 32, of Bremerton died March 10, 2002, in Bremerton.
He was born April 11, 1969, in Boulder, Colo., to Johnny and Eleanor "Nonnie" (Neelands) Rusch. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1988.
He married
Michelle Waldman on June 4, 1994, at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton.
Mr. Rusch served in the Army Reserve as a specialist from 1989 to 1997. He was called into active duty in 1991, serving with the 3rd Battalion, 87th Infantry during Operation Desert Shield.
He was a computer-aided drafting technician and construction manager.
Mr. Rusch was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife; his mother and stepfather, Nonnie and Mark Ranstrom of Bremerton; his father and stepmother, Johnny and Judy Rusch of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Ryan Frazier of Bremerton; a daughter, Sydney Annamarie Rusch of Bremerton; and a brother, Lance Lavall of Seattle.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

George Madsen
George Peter Madsen, 80, of Kingston died March 11, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born June 14, 1921, in Seattle to Ole P. and Naomi (Jensen) Madsen. He graduated from Seattle's Garfield High School and attended Seattle University for two years.
He married
Marion Belle Rice on July 29, 1978, in Suquamish.
Mr. Madsen served in the Army during World War II, achieving the rank of first lieutenant. He later worked as a machinist, retiring in the 1980s.
Following his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively in Europe and Russia.
Mr. Madsen was a past commander and lifetime member of Post 1 of the American Legion in Seattle. He and his wife were the recipients of a PTA Council award recognizing their drug prevention work in Kitsap County.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ken G. and his wife, Stacey, of Petersburg, Alaska, Robert P. and his wife, Susan, of Bradford, Vt., Leonard and his wife, Linda K., of Seattle, and John Blomgren and his wife, Sandra, of Bothell; seven daughters, Julie A. Hanson and Marilyn E. Mowan and her husband, James, all of Everett, Joann Bowman and Judy Driggers and her husband, Neil, all of Seattle, Janis Draper of Granite Falls, June Blomgren of Suquamish and Julie Dumford and her husband, Perry, of Kingston; 31 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Royce and Helen Mayes.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Suquamish Community Congregational Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.

James White
James J. White, 88, of Bremerton died of Parkinson's disease
March 12, 2002, in Port Orchard.
He was born July 10, 1913, in Isle of Wight County, Va., to James and Geneva (Crocker) White.
He married
Rose Easter Garris in Newport News, Va., in 1936. She died in 2000.
Mr. White worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamelia Tucker and Patti McKee, both of Port Orchard, and Sharon Edwards of Bremerton; three brothers, George White of Arizona, and Lane and Fenton White, both of Virginia; two sisters, Mary Joyner and Nancy Ember, both of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Virginia McDowell
Virginia Rose McDowell, 69, of Port Orchard died March 9, 2002, in Bremerton from complications related to cancer.
She was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Seaview to David and Louise Rose (Wade) Kyle. Her father died when she was 13. She was raised from the age of 15 by her mother and stepfather, Ralph Otter.
She married
George Donald McDowell in July 1951 in Fort Bragg, Calif. He died in 1978.
Mrs. McDowell was a homemaker. She also worked as a nurse's aide.
She enjoyed ceramics and crochet.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Donald McDowell of Port Orchard; two daughters, Kathleen Rose Evans of El Paso, Texas, and Jody Marie McKenzie; a brother, Kenneth Kyle of Albion, Calif.; a sister, Donna Snitzler of Anchorage, Alaska; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth DeCoster and Robin Evans, both of El Paso, and Mareesa Evans of Beaumont, Calif. She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Lee "Butch" McDowell.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment
will be at Vaughn Bay cemetery in Vaughn.
