Jayson Crowder
Jayson Lee Crowder, 23, of Bremerton died Feb. 24, 2002, in Poulsbo.
He was born Sept. 13, 1978, in Tulare, Calif., to Larry and Laura (Corkill) Crowder. He attended high school in Yakima.
Mr. Crowder had worked as a sheetrock taper in the construction industry.
He enjoyed playing baseball, having participated in T-Ball and Babe Ruth competition as a pitcher and first baseman. He had been recognized as an All-Star player.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Whitcher of Poulsbo; his father, of Porterville, Calif.; a brother, George C. Crowder of Lafayette, La.; and grandparents, Jim and Corey Corkill, Jan and Kirk Smith and Mary and Calvin Crowder.
A memorial service will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 68, 1240 Sheridan Road in East Bremerton.
Peggy Thompson
Peggy Ann Thompson, 55, of Belfair died of cancer Feb. 21, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She was born June 14, 1946, in Quilcene to Floyd and Pauline Baughman. She graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1964.
She enjoyed crochet and camping. She was a member of Faith Fellowship in Silverdale.
Survivors include her husband, Burel Bingham; her parents, Floyd and Pauline Baughman of Silverdale; a son, Daniel Bingham of Bremerton; a daughter, Angel Holles of Belfair; two brothers, George Casterline of Port Orchard and Mark Baughman of Silverdale; three sisters, Terry Tenney and Judy Haakensen, both of Silverdale, and Patty Brinkman of Tacoma; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Georgie Hamley, and her youngest child, Kenneth Thompson.
Her wake is private. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation & Burial Society.
Genevieve Jones
Genevieve Jones, 83, of Poulsbo died of a heart attack Feb. 23, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Portland, Ore., to William and Pearl (Trevarthan) Killion.
She married
Harold Jones. He died in 1970.
Mrs. Jones loved her cat, Conan. She also enjoyed growing tomatoes.
Survivors include a son, John James Poag and his wife Sue of Poulsbo; a daughter, Karen E. Cherry of Sweet Home, Ore.; a brother, Tom Killion of Oak Harbor; three sisters, Thoa McLaughlin and Ging Thomas, both of Oak Harbor, and Billie Robinson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eve Callen.
At her request, no services will be held.
Betty Schryver
Betty Jean Schryver, 78, of Port Orchard died Feb. 26, 2002, at Kindred Hospital in Seattle.
She was born July 17, 1923, in Kansas City, Kan., to Harry Brinton and Margaret Carroll.
She married
Robert Schryver on Dec. 19, 1942, in Seattle. Mrs. Schryver was a homemaker.
She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and doing needlework. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Peggy Swanson of San Diego, Kathy Hirdler of Mount Vernon and Toni Hall of Bothell; two sisters, Jerry Elliott of Anaheim, Calif., and Connie Kneefe of Burien; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Eleanor Bloom
Eleanor I. Bloom, 87, of Bremerton died Feb. 19, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 28, 1914, in International Falls, Minn., to Carl and Selma (Branlund) Hoglund. She graduated from Falls High School in International Falls in 1931.
She married
William F. "Bill" Bloom and in 1951 they moved to Bremerton from Ranier, Minn. He died in 1980.
Mrs. Bloom had worked as a school secretary in Falls and as a budget analyst with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and the Naval Torpedo Station at Keyport, retiring in 1974.
She was a longtime member of the Bremerton Art Guild and served as pianist for the Senior Singers in Bremerton. She had also volunteered for 14 years with the Retired Senior Volunteers Program in Bremerton, including work with Senior Outreach Services.
Mrs. Bloom enjoyed studying the Bible and had been the organist at First Lutheran Church in Falls for several years.
Survivors include a stepson, David Bloom and his wife Laura of Ranier; a stepdaughter, Charlotte Bloom Tamburelli and her husband John of Seattle; and two cousins. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn (Hoglund) Tighe.
At her request, there will be no public services. The family is planning a celebration of her life. When plans are completed, a notice will be published in The Sun.
Eugene Stewart
Eugene "Bud" Stewart, 90, of Port Orchard died Feb. 22, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1911, in Kingman, Kan., to James and Dora Stewart.
He married
Catherine Stevenson on Sept. 24, 1936, in Idaho. She died in 1992.
Mr. Stewart served in the Army National Guard from 1950 to 1959, achieving the rank of master sergeant. He also worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for many years, retiring in 1970.
He was active in the senior bowling league at the Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard and also played poker there on Sundays. He was a member of the Kitsap Peggers Cribbage Club and enjoyed gardening, growing his own apples, grapes and tomatoes.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Anderson and Beverly Lucas, both of Port Orchard; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Buddy and Benny Stewart.
Services are private.
Walter Dasho
Walter Richard Dasho, 78, of Bremerton died Feb. 23, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Portland, Ore., to Peter Joseph and Anna Mary (Schaffer) Dasho. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1942.
He married
Marilyn Ruth Foran on April 23, 1946, in Fresno, Calif.
Mr. Dasho served in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945.
He later worked as an electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring as a planner and estimator in 1979. He also owned and operated Dasho TV and Appliance Store in Bremerton.
Mr. Dasho enjoyed dining out, reading, trips to Reno, Nev., and crossword puzzles. He was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Dasho; a daughter, Kathy Dasho; a brother, George Dasho of Bremerton; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Dasho Mawson.
Inurnment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel. At his request, there will be no services.

Nema Haymaker
Nema Pearl Haymaker, 86, of Port Orchard died Feb. 26, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center after a long-term illness.
She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Bolivar, Mo., to Walter and Cordia (Smith) Wells. She attended elementary school in Bolivar. Her family moved from Missouri to Belfair in 1939.
She married
Francis Haymaker on July 20, 1940.
Mrs. Haymaker had been a homemaker all of her adult life. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and camping.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Haymaker of Lakewood and Eddie Haymaker of Whidbey Island; two daughters, Sue Jackson and Lonnie Foote, both of Yellville, Ark.; a brother, Richard Wells of Shelton; a sister, Jolene Bevis of Shelton; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jensen; a grandchild, Collena Carr in 2000; and a brother, Bud Wells.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Frederick Rinehart
Frederick Gene Rinehart, 66, of Suquamish died Feb. 19, 2002, in Bremerton of complications from emphyzema.
He was born Dec. 30, 1935, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Dale Rinehart and Addie (Swartz) Fink. He graduated from high school in Battle Creek, Mich., in 1954 and from the University of Washington in 1974. He had also attended Black Hills Teachers College in Spearfish, S.D.
He married
Katheryne E. Sohn on Sept. 18, 1960, in Deadwood, S.D.
Mr. Rinehart served in the Army from 1958 to 1960. He later worked in the office of minority affairs at the University of Washington and as a counselor at the Monroe Reformatory.
He had been a board member of the Washington State Council on Crime and Delinquency and the Governor's Task Force on Crime and Delinquency. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Conrad J. Rinehart of Suquamish; two daughters, Lora A. Rinehart of Suquamish and Cara Ann Yates of Kent; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at The Church of the Living God in Tacoma. Interment
will be at Oak Ridge cemetery in Deadwood.
