Robert Morgan
Robert Owen Morgan, 85, of Port Orchard died April 20, 2002, following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 20, 1917, in Cambridge, Idaho, to John and Ina (York) Morgan. He graduated in 1935 from Cambridge High School.
On Nov. 19, 1938, he married
Edna Lipe in Weiser, Idaho.
Mr. Morgan was a parts specialist at Westbay Auto Parts for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982.
He enjoyed camping and auto mechanics and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Orchard.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Robert O. Jr. of Lakewood; two daughters, D. Joyce Sutton of Weiser, Idaho,
and Elaine Myers of Port Orchard; seven grandchild-ren; and six great-grandchil-dren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard at the time of the funeral service, 2 p.m. today. Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Nina Schaffert
Former Kitsap County resident Nina Elsie Schaffert, 73, died April 18, 2002, in Olympia.
She was born June 16, 1928, in Barl, Wis., to Everett Smith and Flossie Peterson.
She graduated from high school in Janesville, Wis.
Mrs. Schaffert married
Homer Willard Schaffert Sr. on Nov. 6, 1966. He preceded her in death last year.
She was a homemaker who loved sewing, reading, knitting and listening to the radio.
She attended Silverdale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons Homer Schaffert, Jr., of Buckley, Lonnie Schaffert and wife Francine of Olympia, Patrick Schaffert and wife Tammy of Montesano, John Wicks of Olympia and Ronald Wicks of Helena, Mont.; daughter Shirley Bryant of Lynn-wood; brothers Rodney Smith of Rochester, Robert Smith and wife Lois of Portland; sisters Alice Williams and husband Carl of Montana, and Juanita Smith of Iowa; 17 grand-children; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Silverdale cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Anne Louise Fox
Anne Louise Fox, 37, of Port Orchard died April 17, 2002, in Tacoma.
She was born May 30, 1964, in Alexandria, Minn., to Louis and Violet Triebenbach. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1982.
She also was a graduate of Olympic College and had earned a master's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.
She married
Anthony Fox in August 2001 in Tacoma.
Mrs. Fox taught first grade at Elmhurst Elementary School in Tacoma.
She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tacoma.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of Poulsbo; a son, Alexander Phillip Collamore of Port Orchard; two daughters, Sara Anne Collamore of Poulsbo and Marie Louise Collamore of Puyallup; three brothers, Lee Triebenbach of Poulsbo, Mark Triebenbach of Graham and Neil Triebenbach of Sequim; a sister, Kay Wilson of Mukilteo; three nieces, Nicole and Amie Wilson, both of Mukilteo, and Jessica Triebenbach of Graham; and aunts, uncles and cousins in Washington, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 S. 96th St. in Tacoma.

William Westwood Wyatt
William Westwood Wyatt, 76, of Bainbridge Island died April 16, 2002, at Kindred Hospital in Seattle.
He was born March 22, 1926, in Portland, Ore., to Thomas and Martha (Westwood) Wyatt. He was an all-city high school basketball player in Portland and lettered in baseball at Idaho State University.
Mr. Wyatt served in the Navy during World War II. He earned a degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University in 1948.
He had a long career in civil engineering as an employee and business owner. In 1958, he established a private firm in Sandpoint, Idaho, where he designed bridges and roads and served in positions as city engineer and Bonner County engineer.
His work evolved into architectural engineering when he became a commercial and residential developer. He retired in 1978.
In retirement, Mr. Wyatt built a 32-foot, wooden, gaff-rigged ketch named The Seeker. He also was an accomplished artist and sculptor.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years, Betty; a son, Scott Wyatt of Seattle; a daughter, Chris Wyatt of Bainbridge Island; two grandsons, Aaron Wyatt of Kelso and Todd Wyatt of Seattle; his mother-in-law, Maurine Ross of Bainbridge Island; and two daughters-in-law, Rochelle and Linette Wyatt.
At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.

Judson McClure
Judson McClure, 87, of Silverdale died April 15, 2002, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
He was born June 13, 1914, in Trinidad, Colo., to Judson and Minnie (Shaffer) McClure Sr. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1936.
He married
Charlotte Fink on Sept. 16, 1937, in Freeport, Ill.
Mr. McClure served as a Baptist minister for 39 years, retiring in 1976.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David McClure and his wife, Bonnie, of Harleysville, Pa., and Philip McClure and his wife, Adrienne, of Silverdale; seven grandchildren, Theresa Terpenning and husband Darrell, David McClure Jr. and wife Lori, Daniel McClure and wife Deborah, and Ryan, Laura, Kendra and Alyssa McClure; and six great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Heather and Jonathan Terpenning and Liam, Caitlyn and Dakota McClure.
He was preceded in death by a son, Duane Paul McClure, in 1980; and by three sisters, Minnie Helen McClure in 1909, Eugenia Ruth McClure in 1965, and Sarah Grace McClure Mitchell in 1990.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today in Sequim View cemetery under the direction of Sequim Valley Chapel. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m Saturday at Silverdale Baptist Church.

Vera O'Connor
Vera P. O'Connor, 92, of Bremerton died April 17, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She was born July 2, 1909, in Spokane to Robert and Maude (McKeen) Plath. She graduated from Washington State University in Pullman.
She married
Tom O'Connor. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. O'Connor was worked as an administrator for the Washington State Department of Unemployment and as a personnel manager with Frederick and Nelson.
She also had been a figure skater and model. She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a sister, Jeanne Edwards of San Diego; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Plath; and a sister, Adelaide Plath Hansen.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holyrood Catholic cemetery, 205 NE 205th St. in Seattle. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Elmer Snyder
Elmer Lee Snyder, 71, of Belfair died April 17, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Midwest, Wyo., to Ralph and Hazel Nelly (Wise) Snyder. He graduated from Wattsburg High School in Midwest in 1948.
He married
Hazel Oliver on Oct. 12, 1948, in Hernando, Miss.
Mr. Snyder served in the Navy from 1948 to 1954. He later owned Snyder and Sons, a concrete contracting company in Bremerton, retiring in 1990 after many years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Snyder and his wife, Barbara, of Dallas and Michael Snyder and his wife, Brenda, of New Orleans; four daughters, Patricia Pino and Lori Sawyer, both of Belfair, and Eva Hornbeak and Sharon Riley, both of Bremerton; a brother, Michael Snyder of Phoenix;
16 grandchildren; and
23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta Tune and Pauline Magenson.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bremerton Community Church of God, 1904 Eighth St. in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
J.B. Atkins
James Brown "J.B." Atkins, 56, of Port Orchard died April 13, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Seattle to Capt. John "Jack" and Joyce Brown Atkins. He attended South Kitsap schools, and graduated from Camp Lejuene High School and attended East Carolina College, both in North Carolina.
Mr. Atkins served two tours of duty (1965 to 1969) in Vietnam with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Division. He was awarded six medals, including the Purple Heart.
He married
Joyce Reinbold on Jan. 17, 1970, in Couer d'Alene, Idaho.
He later worked in air and freight transportation for 25 years. He and his wife owned Diamond Ring Enter-prises in Port Orchard.
He coached youth base-ball and soccer. He enjoyed children, dogs, fishing, hunting, golf and boating.
Mr. Atkins and his wife were active in many community charities. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Sinclair Inlet Yacht Club and Trout Unlimited.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, now of Bremer-ton; two sons, Jeffrey J. and his fiancee, Brigittte Brose Valdez, and Mark R.O., both of Port Orchard; a brother, John H. Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Portland, Ore.; three sisters, Joy Wickwire of Kirk-land, Janet of Seattle and Julie of Bremerton; several nieces; a nephew; and many close friends.
Services are private. Inurnment is at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Iona O'Hair
Iona Pearl O'Hair, 88, of Port Orchard died April 14, 2002, at her home.
She was born July 24, 1913, in Woodville, Mo., to Isaac Eiker and Mary Jane (Myrick) Turner.
She was a planning and service supervisor at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include three sons, Leonard E. George of Napa, Idaho, Larry "John" George of Port Orchard and Lawrence E. George of Tacoma; a daughter, Lavina K. Ryan of Port Orchard; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Congregation Beth El, 2095 SE Cedar Road in Port Orchard. Interment
will be at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Gig Harbor under the direction of Haven of Rest Funeral Home.
Elmer Walberg
Elmer Walberg, 87, of Bainbridge Island died March 31, 2002, at Harrison Hospital of respiratory and heart failure.
He was born Dec. 6, 1914, on Bainbridge Island to Victor and Bertha (Abra-hamson) Walberg. He grad-uated from Bainbridge High School.
He married
Grace Hart on Feb. 21, 1940, on Bainbridge Island. She preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Walberg started Wal-berg's Motors in Lynwood Center on Bainbridge Island. He operated that business for 12 years.
He later was a banker with a savings and loan for 10 years in Palm Springs, Calif. He retired in 1961.
Mr. Walberg had served as president of the Lions Club in Palm Springs. Fishing was a favorite pastime.
Survivors include a daughter, Irene Strege and her husband, Larry, of Bainbridge Island; a brother, Bert of Bainbridge Island; a sister, Martha Britt of Bain-bridge Island; and three grandchildren, Lori Strege of Silverdale, Brian Strege of Bremerton and Tom Strege of Mesa, Ariz. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Ben and George.
At his request, there will be no service. Inurnment will be at Port Blakely cemetery on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
