Reginald Weston Jr.
Reginald Gordon Weston Jr., 52, of Bremerton died April 11, 2002, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after an automobile accident.
He was born Nov. 8, 1949, in Denver to Reginald and Helen (Topkoff) Weston Sr. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Denver in 1968.
Mr. Weston served in the Navy from 1970 to 1976, achieving the rank of machinist's mate second class. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation.
He had worked in government civil service as an equipment specialist at Fleet Industrial Supply Center and in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for six years.
Mr. Weston enjoyed fishing and model airplanes. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 68.
Survivors include his mother, now of Wheatridge, Colo.; a son, Zachary Allen Weston of Bremerton; a stepdaughter, Jenny Lynn Gardner; two sisters, Jeanett Messer of Wheatridge and Edith Cooke-Axer of Sacramento, Calif.; and a niece, Carol Cooke.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at American Legion Post 149, 4422 Kitsap Way in Bre-merton. Cremation is under the direction of Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo with arrangements by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Michael Ellingsen
Michael Lee Ellingsen, 13, of Port Orchard died April 11, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1988, in Seattle to Curtis and Penny Opal (Gilland) Ellingsen. He was in the eighth grade at Explorer Academy in Port Orchard.
He enjoyed skateboarding and music.
Survivors include his mother, of Port Orchard; his father, of Vashon Island; five sisters, Melia Bock of Silverdale, Fawn Music of Belfair, Mary Jo Rechtin and Angela Ellingsen, both of Port Orchard, and Christa Bell Harold in the U.S. Army; his maternal grandmother, Alice Gilland of Mountlake Terrace; and his paternal grandparents, Dick and Peggy Ellingsen of Vashon Island, and Sharon and Bill Bennett of New Castle.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel with a reception following. Interment
will be in Knights of Pythias cemetery in Port Orchard. After the reception, a vigil will be held at Lund Pointe Apartments, 3312 Valentine Lane (next to Starbucks Coffee) in Port Orchard.
Rae Sherard
Daisy "Rae" Sherard, 85, of Bremerton died April 11, 2002, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
She was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Ranger, Texas.
She married
Lloyd L. Sherard in April 1952 in Carson City, Nev.
Mrs. Sherard was a homemaker who traveled with her husband in support of his naval career. The Sherards survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Mrs. Sherard's interests included gardening, cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jimmie K. Coward of Gig Harbor; a stepson and stepdaughter, both of El Cajon, Calif.; five grandchildren, Alan Coward and Jonni King, both of Renton, Kathy Triplett of Port Orchard, Scott Coward of Redmond and Greg Coward of Carnation; and four great-grandchildren, Anthony and Delaney Triplett, both of Port Orchard, and Josh and Olivia Coward, both of Carnation.
Visitation will be from noon until a 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
Eileen Warden
Eileen Painter Swolgaard Warden, 78, of Port Orchard died of cancer April 11, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She had lived in Tacoma many years. She also was a snowbird, retiring to Pacific Beach, Wash.
She was a homemaker. She had worked at Farmer George's in Port Orchard.
She enjoyed digging razor clams. She was also a Mariners fan.
Survivors include four daughters, Jerry Brandfas and her husband, Jim Sr., of Tacoma, and Linda Walker and her husband, Bill, Arlene Swolgaard and her companion, Jim Goforth, and Paula Harstad and her companion, Gerry Ross, all of Port Orchard; four sisters; a brother; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held.
Rhoda Torsak
Former Bremerton resident Rhoda E. Hunt Torsak, 92, of Salt Lake City died April 14, 2002, in Salt Lake City.
She was born April 3, 1910, in Fielding, Utah, to Amos R. and Carrie (Laub) Hunt. She graduated from Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah, in 1953.
She married
Francis Torsak in Ogden, Utah, in 1934. They were later divorced.
She taught school in Bremerton, retiring in 1973. She was a published poet and an award-winning gardener.
Survivors include two sons, Duane Torsak of Salt Lake City and Donald Torsak of Pleasant Grove, Utah; two daughters, Carol Lenhart of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Bonnie Williamson of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St. in Ogden. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday also at Leavitt's, with interment at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden.
Edward Bickhart Jr.
Edward C. Bickhart Jr., 83, of Bremerton died April 13, 2002, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
He was born June 5, 1918, in New Mexico to Edward C. and Ginny Bickhart Sr. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1948.
He married
Mary Grace Conway on May 22, 1941, in Los Angeles. She preceded him in death in 2000.
Mr. Bickhart served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1944. He later was an elec-tronic engineer with Hughes Aircraft in California, re-tiring in 1978.
Spending time with his family was Mr. Bickhart's primary interest.
He and his wife also had enjoyed square dancing.
Survivors include a daughter, Molly Wooley of Port Orchard; a brother, Fred of Minnesota; three grandchildren, Jasen Wooley of Camp Union, Troy Wooley of Bremerton and Jenny Thorson and her husband, Cory, of Port Orchard; and five great-grandchildren, Krissy, Bri, Haylie, Sativa and Veronica. He also was preceded in death by a son John in 1989; two brothers, Robert and Don; and a sister, Jean.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Belmont Terrace Conva-lescent Center, 560 Lebo Blvd. in Bremerton.
Paul Dour
Paul J. Dour, 42 of Bre-merton died of natural causes April 10, 2002, in Bremerton.
Mr. Dour graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, N.Y., in 1977.
He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1982 and earned an MBA from the University of Washington in 1994 and a master's degree from U.S. Naval War College in 1998.
He was on active duty as a commander.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Moran Dour; his mother, Anne Dour of Seaford, N.Y.; two sons, Vincent and Brennan, both of Bremerton; one daughter, Colleen of Bremerton; two brothers, Vincent of Levittown, N.Y., and Christo-pher of Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Eileen Colleran and Lynnanne Hourihan, both of Stamford, Conn., and Mary Ellen Dour Hill of Babylon, N.Y.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 Wed-nesday at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home in Annapolis.
A Christian burial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Arlington National cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of John M. Taylor Funeral Home Inc. of Annapolis.

Donald Rainbolt
Donald Jackson Rainbolt, 67, of Poulsbo died April 2, 2002, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center, where he had been a resident for the past 12 years.
He was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Wynnewood, Ariz., to Thurman and Aura (Blackwood) Rainbolt.
Mr. Rainbolt served in the Army from 1955 to 1958, achieving the rank of specialist fifth class.
He later worked as a plastics molder in the machine shop at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1981 until 1987 when an automobile accident left him disabled.
Mr. Rainbolt enjoyed gardening at Martha & Mary and reading mystery novels.
Survivors include a sister, Dolores Cantu Campbell and her son, Chris Cantu, both of Tonopah, Ariz.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Martha & Mary. His ashes will be scattered on Saddleback Mountain in Maricopa County, Ariz.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Martha Edman
Martha Viola Edman, 92, of Bremerton died April 10, 2002, after a long illness at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 1, 1909, in Waterman to Peter and Beda (Segerquist) Lundberg. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1928.
She married
Erik Edman on Nov. 10, 1943, in Waterman.
Mrs. Edman was a homemaker. She had worked as a sail loft technician during World War II.
She was a member of the Photographic Club of America, the f:67 Camera Club, the Mycological Society and Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Her parents had been charter members of the church.
She is survived by her husband and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Lundberg.
Services will be held at a later date. Private interment will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Josephine Walberg
Josephine L. Walberg, 75, of Kingston died April 11, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 14, 1926, in Seattle to Everett and Dorothy (Barker) Paplow.
She had worked as a waitress for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Ray Weaver Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7329 in Kingston and the Eagles in Poulsbo.
Survivors include three sons, William Cockerham of Kingston, Daniel Simon of Tacoma and Richard Abel of Poulsbo; four daughters, JoAnn Madore of Bremerton, Kathleen Logue of Havre, Mont., Dorothea Keyser of Lincoln City, Ore., and Paula Abel of Kingston; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Herbert Walberg.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Poulsbo Eagles on Lincoln Road.

Atlas Crumpton
Atlas Dean Crumpton, 57, of Bainbridge Island died April 10, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 15, 1944, in Batesville, Ark., to Atlas and Chiline (Nalley) Crumpton. He attended Bainbridge High School.
He married
Leanne Thomas on Oct. 1, 1985, in Las Vegas.
Mr. Crumpton had worked with Washington State Ferries for 25 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a Mariners fan. He also enjoyed golf and art.
Survivors include two sons, David Dean Crumpton of Auburn and Terry Crumpton of Renton; a stepdaughter, Lori Hellstrom of San Francisco; three brothers, Robert of Bremerton, Joe of Kent and Steve of Bothell; three sisters, Judy Crumpton of Bainbridge Island, Barbara Shipman of Sequim and Sarah Blossom Hatrick of Port Ludlow; and two grandchildren, Brittany Thornblade of Renton and James Dean Crumpton of Auburn.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Port Madison Lutheran Church, 14000 Madison Ave. N on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
