Marietta Edmondson
Marietta Edmondson, 79, of Bremerton died Sept. 22, 2002, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center in Bremerton.
She was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Maud, Okla., to Floyd Clay Southern and Alice (Hickman) Southern.
She married
Charles Wesley Edmondson on Dec. 6, 1946, in Oklahoma. He died in 1992.
Mrs. Edmondson was a member of Central Valley Church of Christ and the Church of Christ in Port Orchard. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, writing poetry and art.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Southern of Fullerton, Calif., and Keith and Eddie Edmondson, both of Bremerton; three daughters, Billie A. Dunford, Phyllis Wallace and Lori Edmondson, all of Bremerton; two sisters, Anne Montgomery of Visalia, Calif., and Bette Conrad of Eugene, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held.
Wilma (Boepple) Mougin
Wilma M. (Boepple) Mougin, 90, of Canterbury Manor in Bremerton died Sept. 26, 2002, at her home.
She was born March 23, 1912, in Toppenish, to Herschel and Della (Martin) Barnes. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Seattle.
She married
Robert O. Boepple in Wapato in 1934. He died in 1960.
In 1966, she married
Spencer F. Mougin in Bremerton. He died in 1978.
She worked with the Bremerton School District for more than 20 years, retiring in 1966. She was active for more than 50 years in Eastern Star and also was a member of Amaranth, Pythian Sisters, Sister Eagles, Ladies of Elks and the Children's Hospital Guild.
She enjoyed family gatherings at her Hood Canal property. She is survived by a son, Rodney R. Boepple and his wife, Sharron; four grandchildren, Brett Boepple, Wendi Barnes and her husband, Chris, Angelia Christensen and her husband, Eric, and Stacy Pemberton and her husband, Brian; and six great-grandchildren, Tyrelle Pumphrey, Tino Rios, Tyler Boepple, twins Hailey and Hunter Christensen and Baby Pemberton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Walter W. Boepple, and a brother, Herschel M. Barnes.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 700 Callahan Drive in Bremerton. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 5371, Seattle, WA 98105-0371.
Wyona Ingles
Former Port Orchard resident Wyona C. Ingles, 80, of Olympia died Sept. 24, 2002, at her home.
She was born April 29, 1922, in Golden Valley, N.D., to Samuel and Emma (Mai) Janke.
She married
Leroy Ingles on April 22, 1945. He died in 2001.
Mrs. Ingles loved her children and cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Ingles of Placidas, N.M.; three daughters, Dodie Ness of Port Orchard, Debi Young of Olympia and Lee Pearson of Missoula, Mont.; eight grandchildren, Steven, Eris, and Jamie Ness, Kristin Ness-Olsen, Kari Ingles-Alstat, Brian Ingles, and Jeff and Lyndsey Young; and one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Alstat.
A granddaughter, Heather Leigh, preceded her in death.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Clara Hardman
Former Port Orchard resident Clara Mae Hardman, 79, of Shelton died Aug. 11, 2002, of heart failure at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Lander, Wyo., to Oscar and Mae Whitehead.
She married
Walter Hardman on Aug. 30, 1942. The couple lived in Port Orchard for more than 30 years and were active in the Port Orchard Yacht Club for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Hardman worked in the bakery business for approximately 20 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Hardman took early retirement and spent another 20 years in Queen Valley, Ariz. Mrs. Hardman enjoyed playing golf there.
In 1999, they relocated to Washington, moving to Shelton to be closer to their family. At the time of Mr. Hardman's death in 2000, the couple had been married
58 years.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Hardman of Shelton and Bob Hardman of Port Orchard; a daughter, Linda Deel of Shelton; a sister, Margaret Brundidge of Keiser, Ore.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, her ashes and those of her husband will be scattered by their children.
Felix Lopes Jr.
Felix Lopes Jr., 53, of Bremerton died Sept. 22, 2002, of heart failure at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Riverside, Calif.
Mr. Lopes served in the Army. He also played Triple A baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was affiliated with the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his mother; three daughters; three sisters; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at his home. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 10 at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
Linda Parker
Linda Sue Parker, 58, of Kingston died Sept. 24, 2002, at Harrison Hospital after a yearlong bout with cancer.
She was born Aug. 21, 1944, in Riverside, Calif., to George and Dora (Williams) Sawyer. She graduated from Henderson High School in Henderson, Nev., in 1962.
She worked as a waitress and had been employed at the Kingston Inn for several years.
She enjoyed her cats, gardening and crafts.
Survivors include her mother, Dora McCallum of Kingston; a daughter, Kelli S. Walker of Bremerton; a brother, Terry Sawyer of Georgia; a sister, Cheryl Schomer of Kingston; and two grandchildren, Kristin and Nick Walker.
A graveside service was held Thursday at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo. Arrangements were under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
Roberta Wilson
Former Bremerton resident Roberta Marie Wilson, 62, of Seattle died Sept. 17, 2002, in Seattle.
She was born June 26, 1940, on the Oglala Sioux reservation in Pine Ridge, S.D., to George F. Wilson Sr. and Mary (Dixon) Wilson. She was Oglala Sioux/Cheyenne and dedicated her adult life to an academic career in Indian education.
She graduated from East High School in Bremerton in 1958, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and attended Olympic College and Western Washington University. She also took graduate courses at the UW and, before her illness, had successfully completed her first year at the University of Denver Law School.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Thompson of Bremerton; two daughters, Jennifer Sense and her fiancé, Ken Odza, and Sarah Sense-Wilson and her husband, Mark Peltier; two sons, Aaron Sense and Ryan Wilson; four adopted children, Ted Collins, Kelly McGovern, Ly Nyugen and New Alder; seven brothers, George, William, Ken, Lyle, Marvin, John and Sonny Wilson; five sisters, Gayle Bradford, Mary Louise Trask, Jeannie Brewer, Dondi Ecoffey and Paula Thompson; an uncle, Dr. Jim Wilson; five grandchildren, Richard Wilson, Julia Peltier-Wilson, Cheyenne Wilson, Preston Sense and Pearl Wilson; former husbands, Roger Sense, Sam Windy Boy and Crawford White Eagle; 19 nieces and nephews; and 16 stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, her stepfather, Paul Thompson, and an infant sister, Jackie Wilson.
A wake and memorial service were held Sept. 22 at the Daybreak Star Cultural Center in Seattle's Discovery Park.
Maurice Lane
Maurice James Lane, 86, of Silverdale died Sept. 23, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 2, 1916, in Silverdale to Henry and Lucy (Watkins) Lane. He graduated from Port Washington Bay Union High School in Silverdale in 1935.
He married
Inez Olson in August 1941 in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 2001.
Mr. Lane worked in industrial and commercial pipe-covering for 34 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Asbestos Workers Local 7 in Seattle.
He was a member of a Masonic lodge. He was a Mariners fan and also enjoyed fishing and travel.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Lane of Silverdale and Stephen Lane of Poulsbo; a daughter, Cristi Strycharski of Poulsbo; a sister, Violet Baker of Vale, Ore.; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park. A reception will follow at Mr. Lane's home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Dean Meyers
Dean M. Meyers, 75, of Silverdale died Sept. 24, 2002, of cancer at Harrison Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1927, in Windom, Minn., to Emil and Margaret (Ziemer) Meyers. He grew up in West St. Paul, Minn., graduating from Humboldt High School and Olympic College in Bremerton.
Mr. Meyers served in the Coast Guard for two years and in the Navy from 1951 to 1974, retiring as a chief electrician's mate. He received numerous awards throughout his military service.
He married
Fusae Takasaki on March 9, 1959, in Fukuoka, Japan.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Mr. Meyers and his family moved to Kitsap County. He then worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as an electrical engineering technician for 14 years, retiring in 1989.
His family was his life. He enjoyed taking family photos and treasured the time he spent with his three granddaughters.
Mr. Meyers also had a love of learning. He had completed many courses in a variety of subjects.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ken Meyers of Poulsbo; a daughter, Susan Eddings of Bremerton; a sister Marilyn Mullenix of Oceanside, Calif.; and three granddaughters, Tiffany and Talia Meyers and their mother, Lori Meyers, and Angela Smith, all of Bremerton.
At his request, no services will be held.

Jerry Williamson
Jerry Williamson, 55, of Sequim, formerly of Bremerton, died Sept. 17, 2002, of a brain tumor at his home.
He was born March 25, 1947, in Bremerton to Dorothy Bobitt. He was raised by his foster parents, Don and Anne Mercer of Poulsbo.
Mr. Williamson graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1966. He went on to receive a bachelor of arts degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham in 1974 and completed the physician's assistant program at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich., in 1982.
He served with the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. He was a Vietnam veteran (1967 to 1968).
Mr. Williamson worked as a physician's assistant for the past 20 years.
He married
Lyell Fox on May 8, 1983.
Mr. Williamson enjoyed mountain biking and sailing his boat, The Jolly Mon.
Survivors include his wife; his foster mother, Anne Mercer now of Keyport; a son, Isaac Williamson and his wife, Michele, of Seattle; four daughters, Keri Williamson of Tacoma, Hailey and Anna Fox, both of Sequim, and Kacie Horton and her husband, Brian, of Ocean Shores; a brother, Dan Mercer of Kingston; five sisters, Marilyn Boyce, Carolyn Tuttle, Anne Huddleson, Joannie Sexton and Rowan Hage; and seven grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held Sept. 20 at the Quillayute cemetery in Forks. A public celebration of life will be held at a time to be announced.

Connie Tronsdal
Connie Kay Tronsdal, 44, of Belfair died Sept. 9, 2002, in Belfair.
She was born Dec. 18, 1957, in Bremerton to Johnnie B. and Irene M. (Vedder) Cox. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1975.
She married
Thomas N. Tronsdal on Nov. 28, 1983, in Port Orchard.
Mrs. Tronsdal worked as a dispatcher with Kitsap Paratransit.
She loved animals and all things pertaining to Elvis Presley. She was affiliated with the Roman Catholic church.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Irene M. Schaefer of Port Orchard; her father, Johnnie B. Cox of Idaho; two sons, Rory A. Pitts II and his wife, Kristina M., of Port Orchard and Russell A. Pitts of Redmond; a daughter, Sara L. Pitts of Belfair; two brothers, David Schaefer and his wife, Pong, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Karl Schaefer and his wife, Mayda, of Port Orchard; three sisters, Melodie Schaefer of Las Vegas, Myra Campbell and her husband, Dan, of Poulsbo and Mary Reddington and her husband, Brett, of Medford, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Pitts.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Melinda L. Nye, and a brother, Michael A. Cox.
