Dee Postma
Barbara Dolores "Dee" Postma, 70, of Port Townsend died Sept. 9, 2002, from complications of ovarian cancer at Jefferson General Hospital Hospital in Port Townsend.
She was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Stella, Mo., to William and Lola McPherson. She graduated from Stella High School in 1950 and attended college in Tulsa, Okla., for three years.
She married
Robert Postma on Nov. 20, 1999.
Mrs. Postma enjoyed music, playing both the flute and the piano. Other interests were making porcelain dolls, painting china and sewing.
She was affiliated with the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her husband; seven children, Karl Galen Lee Jr. of New York City, Cynthia A. Kunz of Port Townsend, Elizabeth J. Ranson-Goodbla of Longview, James Postma of Vancouver, Wash., Deborah DeLateur of Bend, Ore., Joel Postma of Fayetteville, N.C., and Mark Postma of Portland, Ore.; three brothers; three sisters; 15 grandchildren, Kevin, Sarrah, Jennifer, Emma, David, Erik, Emily, Alex, Meigan, Robert, Jay, Jamie, Shannon, Jasmin and Jena; and three great-grandchildren, Gabrriella, Kalyca and Nicholas.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Allen Lee, and by her previous husbands, Karl G. Lee and Edwin R. Ranson.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Port Townsend. Arrangements are under the direction of Kosec Funeral Home in Port Townsend.

Bob Arthun
Robert Jerome "Bob" Arthun, 79, of Bremerton died of a heart attack Sept. 16, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Bremerton to Clarence T. and Sadie J. (Hogg) Arthun. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1941 and from the University of Washington in 1953.
Mr. Arthun had served as president of the BHS Senior Class of 1941. He had remained active with his class reunion committee.
He served in the Air Force from 1943 to 1946 as an airplane mechanic and crew chief. He also completed a machinist apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1948 and went on to work as an industrial engineer with the Aerospace Division of The Boeing Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
He married
Barbara Ann (Otterholt) Sell on July 10, 1965, in Seattle. Mr. Arthun had lived in Seattle from 1951 until he and his wife retired to the family homestead on Oyster Bay in Bremerton in 1981.
He was an active member of Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo and had participated in Christian missions to Mexico. In his youth, he had been an active officer in Demolay.
Survivors include his wife; five children, David Sell of Seabeck, Paula Jackson and Linda Mooney, both of Seattle, Robin Arthun of Marble Mount and Charlene Meagher of Bremerton; his twin brother, Richard "Dick" Arthun of Bremerton; and 12 grandchildren, Dawud and Jelani Jackson and Cameron and Brenna Mooney, all of Seattle, Sarah and Charles Stratford of Marble Mount, Heather and Kyle Meagher, both of Bremerton, and Rachel, Julie, Neil and Jared Sell, all of Seabeck; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Pearson of Bremerton.

Katie O'Neil
Kathleen "Katie" O'Neil, 50, of Bremerton died Sept. 12, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 17, 1952, to Gerald and Olive O'Neil.
She enjoyed spending time with her son, reading the Bible and flower gardening. She was a member of Unity Church of Bremerton.
Survivors include her father; a son, Timothy Sean O'Neil of Olympia; two brothers, Timothy O'Neil of Olympia and Michael O'Neil of Salem, Ore.; four sisters, Nora Clemons of Bremerton, Maura Gertlar and Pat O'Neil, both of Olympia, and Mary Roberts of Houston; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Danny O'Neil.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Olympia.
Elaine Strom
Sylvia "Elaine" Strom, 71, of Belfair died Sept. 15, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1931, in Fertile, Minn., to Severt and Anna Marie (Larson) Ingebretson. She graduated from Fertile High School in 1949.
She married
Arnold Strom on May 12, 1960, in Seattle.
Mrs. Strom was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, fishing and camping. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Belfair.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary Sanford Strom of Beaverton, Ore.; a daughter, Kristie Strom Williamson of Gig Harbor; two sisters, Gladys Jacobsen of Fertile and Mabel Thompson of Ulen, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Abigail and Elizabeth Williamson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes, and a brother, Sanford.
Visitation will be from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Belfair. Interment
will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Maximino Libor
Maximino G. Libor, 65, of Bremerton died Sept. 12, 2002, at his home.
He was born July 3, 1937, in Manila, Philippines, to Tomas G. and Pascuala T. (Garcia) Libor. He graduated from high school at Far Eastern University in the Philippines and attended three years of college at the same institution.
He married
Anita Legaspi on June 17, 1962, at San Rafael Catholic Church in Manila.
While living in the Philippines, Mr. Libor worked as a plumber and in maintenance. After moving to the United States, he was a production worker with The Sun.
He was a voracious reader and devoted family man. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Reynaldo Libor and his wife, Louisa, and Tomas Libor and his companion, Minnie, all of the Philippines, and Fernando Libor of Kobe, Japan; two daughters, Rosanna Libor of Bremerton and Rosalina Trinidad and her husband, Ramon, of the Philippines; three brothers, Leonardo Libor and his wife, Luz, Daniel Libor and his wife, Medy, and Renato Libor and his wife, Corazon, all of the Philippines; four sisters, Leonora Quizon of Los Angeles, Gloria Alunday of Brunei, Aida Velonias and her husband, Manuelos, of Australia, and Nelia Batioco and her husband, Elmer, of the Philippines; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Carlos and Zenaida Libor.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a vigil and rosary there at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Inurnment will be in the Philippines.

Stuart Frazier
Stuart P. Frazier, 85, of Silverdale died Sept. 14, 2002, in Central Valley.
He was born March 12, 1917, in Seattle to William R. and Bertha E. (Greenwood) Frazier. He graduated from Port Washington Bay Union High School in Silverdale in 1935.
He married
Mildred Ringness on June 24, 1939.
Mr. Frazier worked as an electrician for 30 years at Naval Submarine Base at Bangor and as a bus driver with Bremerton Charleston Transportation for 10 years.
He enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing. He was affiliated with the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Frazier and his wife, Sandy, of Brownsville; a daughter, Linda Batt and her husband, Al, of Port Orchard; three brothers, William R. Frazier and Donald Goodwin, both of Olympic View, and Emmett Goodwin of Whatcom County; three grandchildren, Jeff Batt, Amanda Ericson and Jason Frazier; and a great-granddaughter, Alyson Dawn Batt.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Hayward.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Entombment will be at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Forest Lawn cemetery where a graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.
A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Silverdale Lutheran Church.

Dwight Scheyer
Dwight Scheyer, 88, of Bremerton died Aug. 30, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1913, in Moscow, Idaho, to Herman and Rose (Isensee) Scheyer. He graduated from Granger High School in Granger, Wash., in 1932, from Washington State College in Pullman in 1937 and received his master's degree in education from the University of Washington-Seattle in 1952.
He married
Mildred Wallace on June 10, 1936. She preceded him in death in 2001.
Mr. Scheyer was a well-known teacher, coach and administrator in the Bremerton School District, having served as principal at East High for 17 years.
He also coached high school football and baseball.
He was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Bremerton where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed watching baseball, fishing, boating and travel.
Survivors include two sons, Rod Scheyer of Bellevue and Paul Scheyer of Bremerton; four grandchildren, David, Jill, Kristin and Julie; five great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jack, Grif, Henry and Sarah; and two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Casie.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Sylvan Baptist Church, 900 Sylvan Way in Bremerton.

Joe Watson
Joe Watson, 83, of Belfair died Sept. 15, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born Aug. 5, 1919, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Lawrence Garfield and Bessie Ophelia (Stephensen) Watson. He graduated from Cotter High School in Cotter, Ark., in 1931.
He married
Elizabeth L. McNew on Feb. 4, 1956.
Mr. Watson served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946, achieving the rank of machinist mate second class.
He went on to work as a machinist-toolmaker at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1968 to 1985. He also worked at Kanawha Manufacturing Co. and Union Carbide and Carbon, both in Charleston, W.Va., and at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii.
Mr. Watson was an avid fisherman, having fished along the White River in Cotter during his youth. He was a member of the Poggie Club in Bremerton and worked with a salmon enhancement group.
He was a member of Belfair Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe B. Watson of Bremerton and Tim P. Watson of Belfair; a daughter, Mary B. Parish of Grants Pass, Ore.; a sister, Mary V. Medley of Chesterfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Connie, Linda, Riannon and Joe Earl; one great-grandson, Pablo Isaiah; and many "honorary" grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orris and Charles, and a sister, Dorothy.

Willis Page
Willis James Page, 76, of Bremerton died Sept. 14, 2002, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
He was born July 11, 1926, in Walla Walla to Orin Leland and Hilma Hyacinth (Patterson) Page. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1944 and attended Central Washington State University in Ellensburg.
He married
Mary Keith on Aug. 7, 1948, in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Suquamish.
Mr. Page served in the Marine Corps from 1944 to 1947, achieving the rank of sergeant. He went on to work with the United States Naval Audit Service for 23 years, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Page enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Other interests were fastpitch softball, Husky football, music and history.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Page of Spokane and Jim Page of Bremerton; three daughters, Susan Page Lary of Bremerton, Patricia Schmeller of Port Orchard and Jessica Page of Lopez, Wash.; three brothers, Melvin and Thomas Page, both of Walla Walla, and David Page of Redding, Calif.; a sister, Marilyn Herres of Pomeroy; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Page, and a brother, Orin Page.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A 1:30 p.m. graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton.

John Magnuson
John Edwin Magnuson, 83, of Poulsbo died Sept. 12, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 30, 1918, in Seattle to August and Maria (Jansson) Magnuson. He graduated from Highline High School in Burien in 1937 and from the University of Washington in 1950.
He married
Eleanor L. McGinnis on Oct. 11, 1950, in Bellevue.
Mr. Magnuson served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, achieving the rank of private first class. He served in the European Theatre and the African Theatre, receiving the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal, among others.
He went on to work as a mechanical engineer with Paccar Trucking Company, retiring in 1980 after 30 years.
Mr. Magnuson was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Association of Professional Engineers of British Columbia, Canada, and the Society of Automobile Engineers. He enjoyed boating, farming, forestry and automobile restoration.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John A. Magnuson and his wife, Ileen, and Gregg Magnuson and his wife, Sharon, all of Bainbridge Island; a daughter, Lisa J. Jansson and her husband, Bjorn, of Snohomish; a brother, Roland Magnuson and his wife, Effie, of Seattle; a sister, Elsie McDowell and her husband, Tom, of Bainbridge Island; and seven grandchildren, Melia Dandurand, Makai and Electra Magnuson, and Anna, Erik, Karl and Nils Jansson.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lake View cemetery, 1554 15th Ave. E. in Seattle. Call (206) 322-1582.
