Gwen Hyde
Gwen Hyde, 67, of Bremerton died Sept. 7, 2002, from a stroke at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Old Hickory, Tenn., to William and Mary Jo (Maddox) Duncan. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1953.
She married
Clarence Hyde on Dec. 21, 1956, in Shelton. He died in 1998.
Mrs. Hyde was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, fishing and camping. She was also an avid Mariners fan.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Hyde of Bremerton and Sam Hyde of Port Orchard; three daughters, Linda Jensen, Stacie Hyde and Lisa Satterfield, all of Bremerton; a sister, Joanne Peterson of Silverdale; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Duncan.
An open house will be held at Mrs. Hyde's home at 2 p.m. Sept. 21. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

John Eggebeen
John Eggebeen, 70, of Bremerton died Sept. 2, 2002, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
He was born March 18, 1932, in Sheboygan, Wis., to William and Mimie (DeMaagt) Eggebeen. He graduated from Sunnyside High School in Sunnyside.
He married
Edith Herman on July 29, 1978, in Sunnyside.
Mr. Eggebeen served in the Army from 1952 to 1954, achieving the rank of sergeant. He went on to own Eggebeen and Sons Painters, retiring in 1997.
He had been a volunteer fireman with the Sunnyside Fire Department for 20 years. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, fishing and golf.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Mortensen and his wife, Jennie, of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Diane Hartwell and her husband, Tom, of Olympia, Cindy O'Connell and her husband, Dan, of Poulsbo, and Viki Melby and her husband, Keith, of Pendleton, Ore.; a brother, Jerry Eggebeen of Yakima; two sisters, Marian Kyper and her husband, John, of Michigan and Esther Van-Belle and her husband, John, of Yakima; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Eggebeen of Sunnyside.
Inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Patricia Koehler
Patricia Ann Koehler, 68, of Southworth died Sept. 6, 2002, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Rosebud, Mo., to Carl and Paula (Ehlers) Schmidt. She graduated from Owensville High School in Owensville, Mo., in 1951 and from St. John's College in Winfield, Kan., in 1954.
Following graduation, she served as a schoolteacher at Lutheran schools near St. Louis. She married
the Rev. James Koehler on Aug. 3, 1957, in Pevely, Mo.
The Koehlers made their first home in Oklahoma City, Okla., where their three sons were born. They also lived in Columbus, Ohio, and Renton where Rev. Koehler served as pastor of King of Kings Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Koehler retired in 1989 after working for 12 years with The Boeing Co. She and her husband moved to Southworth in 1996.
They were members of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Thomas Koehler of Covington, John Koehler and his wife, Keven, of Issaquah and Matthew Koehler and his wife, Amy, of Edmonds; three brothers, Carl Schmidt and his wife, Dickie, of Windsor, Calif., Ralph Schmidt and his wife, Ilse, of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Joel Schmidt and his wife, Mary, of Lake Zurich, Ill.; a sister, Muriel Uffelman of Orlando, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Erin and Adam.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 18207 108th Ave. SE in Renton.

Lucille McCabe
Lucille Honor McCabe, 96, of Silverdale died Sept. 9, 2002, in Silverdale.
She was born Sept. 14, 1905, in Seattle to Miles and Rosa (Sibert) Bright. She graduated from West Seattle High School.
She married
R. Daryl McCabe on Oct. 12, 1929, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Mrs. McCabe was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Richard McCabe of Edmonds; a daughter, Joyce Myhr of Lopez Island; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are private. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Aden Lambert
Aden Ardell Lambert, 73, of Allyn and formerly of Seabeck, died Sept. 7, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 19, 1929, in Allegany County, Md., to Eslie F. and Mary E. (Dumbrack) Lambert.
He married
Loretta J. Savage on Aug. 12, 1950, in Carson City, Nev.
Mr. Lambert served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He went on to work as an electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1995.
His enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and reading. He loved animals, deer and hummingbirds.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Alan A. Lambert of Allyn; a daughter, Linda J. Daniels of Clarksville, Va.; a brother, Calvin L. Lambert of Penym, Calif.; a sister, Ruth Matthews of Cottonwood, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Tryina Barker
Tryina Marie Barker, 26, of Bremerton died Sept. 8, 2002, at her home of cancer.
She was born Feb. 26, 1976, in Burien to Debra Barker. She graduated from Woodinville High School in 1994 and, before her illness, had attended Olympic College where she was active in choral performance.
She had worked as an employment counselor and family development specialist with Kitsap Community Resources. She also had been an Ameri-Corps volunteer.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton and enjoyed tutoring children. She was fond of New York City and had traveled there.
Survivors include her partner, Robert L. Holland of Bremerton; her mother and stepfather, Debra and Richard Philbrook; and her grandmother, Rachel Lopeman of Moses Lake.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
The address for memorial donations will be announced at the memorial service.
Buck Buchanan
Willard E. "Buck" Buchanan, 77, of Bremerton died from complications of cancer and emphysema Sept. 8, 2002, at Bay Pointe Retirement Community in Bremerton.
He was born June 18, 1925, in Crane, Ore., to Joseph and Edith (Gibson) Buchanan. He graduated from high school in Medford, Ore., in 1946.
He married
Margaret Strahan on Aug. 31, 1946, in Reno, Nev.
Mr. Buchanan served as a paratrooper in the Army from 1943 to 1945, achieving the rank of corporal. He was awarded the American Theatre Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He went on to work with U.S. National Bank in Oregon for 35 years, retiring in 1981. At the time of his death, he had been employed with an investment firm in Portland, Ore., since his retirement.
Mr. Buchanan was a member of Central Kitsap Christian Church in Bremerton. For many years he had been a member of the Lions Club in Washington, Oregon and Arizona.
He enjoyed photography, travel and music.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Earl Buchanan and his wife, Dianne, of Bremerton; a daughter, Claudia Peetz of Poulsbo; a brother, Donald Buchanan of Longview; two sisters, Delta Jensen of Palmer, Alaska, and Deana Hukill of Jacksonville, Ore.; four grandchildren, Christian and his wife, Shawna, Mindy and her husband, Stuart, and Josh and Luke; and a great-granddaughter, Claire.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Buchanan.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at Bay Pointe Retirement Community. Inurnment will be at Memory Gardens in Medford.

Juanita Ingram
Juanita J. Ingram, 74, of Poulsbo died Sept. 8, 2002, at Country Haven Adult Home in Poulsbo.
She was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Perryton, Texas, to Frank and Lena (Robinson) Horton. She graduated from Mulvane High School in Mulvane, Kan., in 1946.
She married
Robert Ingram Sr. on Dec. 25, 1947, in Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Ingram was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and spending time with her dog, Skippy. She was a member of Kingston Christian Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Green and her husband, David, and Donna Ingram, all of Washougal, Carol Cain and her husband, Steve, of Poulsbo and Bonnie Ingram of Silverdale; eight grandchildren, Michael, Rachel and Joel Walker, Aaron and Mark Green, Angie Occiano, Joielle Thomas and Brian Ingram; and four great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ingram Jr., in 1997 and by her nine siblings.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at Kingston Christian Church.

Noreen Remick
E. Noreen Remick, 86, of Port Orchard died Sept. 3, 2002, of a stroke at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center in Bremerton.
She was born Feb. 15, 1916, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to Crosier and Mary Frances (Clements) Sargent.
She married
James F. Remick on July 24, 1941, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Remick enjoyed crafts and needlework. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include a son, J. Thomas Remick of Bremerton; a daughter, Sharon Burg of Kennewick; two brothers, Norman Sargent of Seattle and Grant Sargent of Edmonds; and two grandchildren, Lucas and Lauren.
No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Kaye Sterling
Marion Kaye Sterling, 79, of Port Orchard died Sept. 1, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Los Angeles to Mr. and Mrs. G.K. Williams.
She graduated from Sierra Madre High School in California and attended Pasadena Junior College.
She married
Larry Sterling in 1957 in Port Orchard.
She wrote cooking stories for the Coronado (Calif.) Journal, the Port Orchard Independent and Country Pleasures newspapers.
Mrs. Sterling enjoyed cooking, traveling, especially Disney trips, Mariners baseball and her grandchildren. She was a member of Sidney Art Museum.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Rick Wyatt and his wife, Linda, of Port Orchard, Mike Sterling and his wife, Sylvia, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and David Sterling of Tacoma; two daughters, Carolyn Wyatt of Port Orchard and Judith Ann Sterling of San Diego; a brother, Noel "Butch" Wyatt of California; a sister-in-law, Molly Williams of California; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Wyatt, and a brother, Richard Williams.
There will be a private family service. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation & Burial Society.
