Perry Henderson
Perry Francis Henderson, 90, of Poulsbo died Aug. 28, 2002, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
He was born Nov. 20, 1911, on Bainbridge Island to Percy Gilbert and Irma Belle (Wright) Henderson.
Mr. Henderson graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1930. He worked as a marine engineer and gardener. In 1977, he retired from the Seattle School District.
He was a charter member of the Eagles on Bainbridge Island and was a member of Seabold Community Club.
Survivors include three sons, David Henderson and his wife, Barbara Allen, of Tucson, Ariz., Percy Henderson and his wife, Marlys, of Seattle and Michael Henderson of Suquamish; a daughter, Susan Henderson Neese and her husband, Steve Norberg, of Port Angeles; three stepchildren, Victoria Farnsworth and her husband, Neil, of Federal Way and Warren Van Pelt and Jerry VanPelt, both of Bremerton; 10 grandchildren, Garrett Neese, Walter, Clare and Eleanor Allen-Henderson, Angela Hamilton, Sheri Ellermeier,
Ann Uluilakepa and Wendy, Kristi and Nick Van Pelt; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ariel Stranne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jessie Komedal, Virginia Komedal and Kathleen Kolehmain; and by a brother, Wilson (Bill) Henderson.
A memorial service will be at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Seabold cemetery, with a reception to follow at Seabold Church.

Tina M. Rash
Former Washington state resident Tina M. Rash, 45, of Newton, Kan., died Aug. 31, 2002, at her home.
She was the daughter of Ralph and Jackie Young. She graduated from Covington High School in Covington, Tenn.
After a few years of college, she worked as a secretary with the federal government at an Army base in Alaska. She moved to Washington. In May 2000, she moved to Newto.
She attended First Baptist Church in Newton.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Jackie and John Gielarowski of Big Lake, Alaska; two sons, Jonathan Rash of Newton and Christopher Rash of Tacoma; a daughter, Bethany Rash of Bremerton; two sisters, Lynn McCloud of Tacoma and Ramona Blair of Big Lake; her fiance, Bill Jaworski of Newton; an aunt, Leta Washam of Memphis, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
A service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Newton.Visitation will precede the service at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Bob Williams
Robert D. "Bob" Williams, 88, of Bremerton died Aug. 29, 2002, at Harrison Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 23, 1914, to Clarence R. and Mabel Williams. He came to Bremerton in 1917.
Mr. Williams graduated from Bremerton High School in 1935. He played basketball and football.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the Planning Department as an electrical equipment specialist and also part time in nuclear power. He retired in 1970 after 30 years of service.
He married the former Janet McFadden in 1938. They were married for 64 years.
For 20 years after retiring, Mr. Williams and his wife went on cruises and were snowbirds in Palm Desert, Calif.
He was a lifetime member of Elks Club 1181 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He enjoyed cars, golf, collecting magazines and watching videotapes.
Survivors include his wife; six nephews, Gary Girard and his wife, Janna, of Vancouver, Wash., Chuck Girard and his wife, Peggy, of Arizona, Randy Williams and his wife, Janet, of Prosser, Steve Williams and his wife, Connie, of Yakima, Keith McFadden and his wife, Robin, of Arizona and Bruce McFadden and his wife, Jean, of Pullman; and three nieces, Cindy Laws and Vicky Halverson, both of Selah, and Mary Jo Castleberry and her husband, Ronald, of Marysville.
At Mr. Williams' request, there will be no services.
Memorial donations can be made to Bremerton Fire Department, Medical Branch, or to the donor's personal choice.

Dorse Huey
Dorse Don Huey, 55, of Belfair died Aug. 30, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1946, in Glendale, Calif., to Dorse and Helen (Schraw) Huey. He graduated from high school in California.
Mr. Huey was a bus driver for 30 years at Kitsap Transit and was a member of Calvary Chapel in Bremerton. He enjoyed sailing, boating, restoring old boats, collecting nautical antiques, fishing and surfing.
Survivors include his four daughters, Heather Hayes and her husband, Eric, of Port Orchard, Malia Millard and her husband, Bob, of Seattle, Summer Huey of San Diego and Brittany Huey of Bremerton; a brother, Wayne Huey of Portland; and two grandchildren, Jordyn and Dylan Hayes of Port Orchard.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
Memorial donations may be made to March of Dimes, Puget Sound Chapter, 230 Securities Building, Seattle, WA 98101.

Jay Parker
Jay M. Parker, 76, of Bainbridge Island died Aug. 24, 2002, at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle.
He was born July 3, 1926, in Roseville, Calif., to James Bogan and Flossie Mae (Butterfield) Parker.
He graduated from Ranosburg High School in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He later attended Sacramento State University.
He joined the U.S. Navy and achieved the rank of seaman first class and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal for his service during World War II.
Mr. Parker was a senior aerospace engineer for more than 32 years before retiring in 1988.
He married Nila C. Scott on May 10, 1947, in Tujunga, Calif. She preceded him in death in 1998.
He was interested in photography and audio and volunteered to do do video work for public access television and city council meetings in Bainbridge Island. He also was a senior center volunteer.
Mr. Parker is survived by sons Randy Jay Parker of Suquamish and Jayme Scott Parker of Loveland, Colo.; daughter Vicki Anne Parker of the Netherlands; sister Valla Riggins of Hampton, Va.; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by five siblings, Ila, James Stanley, Nevis June, Weldon Dee and Arva Mae.
A private memorial service was held Aug. 31 in Suquamish.
Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's disease research or any medical research facility of the donor's choice.

David Weller
David Lawrence Weller, 23, of Belfair died Aug. 30, 2002, in Belfair.
He was born May 16, 1979, in Bremerton to Donna Jeane (Bower) and Donald D. Weller.
He graduated from Central Kitsap HIgh School in 1997 and from Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr. Weller worked as an installer and service and repairman with Lennox Heating and Air Conditioning and previously worked with Advance Mechanical Systems in Silverdale.
He enjoyed rebuilding his '72 Chevy Nova and loved automobiles.
He was a member of the Kitsap Lake Baptist Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his mother, of Bremerton; his father, of California; brothers Douglas Weller and wife Dalyn of Port Orchard and Joel Weller and his wife Sally of Bremerton; sister Sandi Howard and her husband Aaron of Bremerton; and grandmother Jeane Bower of Caldwell, Idaho.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kitsap Lake Baptist Church. Weller will be interred at Silverdale cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton.

Emma Anderson
Emma Daly Anderson, 91, of Poulsbo died Aug. 28, 2002, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
She was born Nov. 24, 1910, at the Daly family homestead in Uva, Wyo., to Patrick and Emma (Sutherland) Daly.
She graduated from Guernsey High School in Guernsey, Wyo., in 1928. She went on to attend the University of Wyoming-Laramie and the University of California-Los Angeles.
She married Melvin W. Anderson on Jan. 22, 1933, in Seattle. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Anderson taught at a one-room school in Uva. She later worked in retail sales with Denver Dry Goods in Denver.
She and her husband were active in distributing Bibles through Gideons International. In the 1960s they also were active in the Seattle Servicemen's Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Anunson and her husband, Glen, of Poulsbo; a brother, Chet Daly of Wheatland, Wyo.; five grandchildren, Susan Shaw and her husband, Rob, of Kingston, Nancy Mattausch and her husband, Dan, of Washington, D.C., Peter Anunson and his wife, Kim, of Cle Elum, Keith Anunson and his wife, Traci, of Bellevue, and Karen Lowder and her husband, Jeff, of Camarillo, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren, Amber, John, Christopher, Luke, Samantha, Matthew, Andrew and Sydney. She also was preceded in death by siblings Minnie, Edith, Mildred, Larry, Bob and Pat.
Inurnment will be at Poulsbo Municipal cemetery under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Skip Skipton
Calvin B. "Skip" Skipton, 86, of Bremerton died Aug. 27, 2002, in Seattle.
He was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Winfield, Iowa, to Ossie and Nettie (Brockmole) Skipton.
Mr. Skipton served in the Navy from 1939 to 1945 and with the Coast Guard from 1947 to 1960, retiring as a chief gunner's mate. While serving in the Navy, he was transferred off USS Arizona in November 1941, days before it was attacked at Pearl Harbor.
He went on to work in building maintenance with the city of Seattle from 1966 until his final retirement in 1976.
Mr. Skipton was a 63-year member of the Eagles in Ballard and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association in Seattle.
He married Louise Sheely on Oct. 31, 1966, in Seattle. They were married for 36 years.
Survivors include his wife; two stepdaughters, Paula Brown of Port Orchard and Marlene Cross of Bremerton; and a granddaughter, Laura Lewis of Bremerton.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle.

Dorse Huey
Dorse Don Huey, 55, of Belfair died Aug. 30, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1946, in Glendale, Calif., to Dorse and Helen (Schraw) Huey.
Mr. Huey was a bus driver for 30 years at Kitsap Transit and was a member of the Calvary Chapel in Bremerton.

Edna Mae Morey
Edna Mae Morey, 90, of Poulsbo died Oct. 24, 2002, at Montclair Park in Poulsbo of complications from cancer.
She was born Feb. 6, 1912, in Glendale, Ore., to Marion Lee "Bud" and Pearl (Martin) Frost.
She graduated in 1930 from Glendale High School.
She married George W. Morey on July 8, 1930, in Grants Pass, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Morey was a homemaker.
She was a member of Rebekkah's, and Take Off Pounds Sensibly and later Keep Off Pounds Sensibly, for which she was a delegate to Hawaii. She loved the outdoors and wrote about being a forest service wife. She also was a great cook.
She was a deacon and a longtime member of Gold Beach (Ore.) Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday school in Agness, Ore., during the 1950s.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Harper and her husband, Hugh, of Poulsbo; two grandchildren, Shannon Wood and her husband, Chris, and Shawn Magwire, all of Poulsbo; three great-grandchildren, Erin Wood and Connor Wood of Poulsbo and Dakota Magwire of Boise Idaho.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Frost and Arthur Frost.
Services in Gold Beach, Ore., will be in summer 2003.
Cremation is under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.
