Lee Parker
David "Lee" Parker, 69, of Suquamish died Sept. 27, 2002, at Harrison Hospital after a lengthy illness due to complications of paralysis.
He was born April 15, 1933, in Darrington, Wash., to David and Dorothy Parker. He graduated from high school in Seattle and from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1955.
Mr. Parker taught English and drama for more than 25 years, retiring because of an injury.
He was an avid reader. He also enjoyed fishing and picking mushrooms.
He attended the United Church of Christ in Suquamish.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Shattuck of Seattle; two sons, Stephen Parker of Kirkland and Matthew Parker of Puyallup; four daughters, Susan Seim of Ephrata, Sandra Bartholomew of Graham, Stephanie Sutherland of Eatonville and Leslie Bray of Ellensburg; two brothers, Tony Parker of Arizona and Gary Parker of Silverdale; two sisters, Terrie Shattuck of Seattle and Laurie Shattuck of Edmonds; and 19 grandchildren.
Mr. Parker's ashes will be scattered over Puget Sound.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bleitz of Bellevue.
Delfin Arreola
Delfin Arreola, 88, of Poulsbo died Sept. 25, 2002, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
He was born May 1, 1914, in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Mauricio and Valentina (Dolliente) Arreola.
He married
Margaret Akiona (Sing) April 28, 1942, in Honolulu. She died in 2000.
Mr. Arreola served as a medic in the Army National Guard from 1948 to 1951. He went on to work as a farmer for 35 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and mahjongg.
Survivors include two sons, Maurice M. Arreola and his wife, Maria Carla, of Domodossola, Italy, and Delfin Arreola Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Silverdale; a daughter-in-law, Jan Arreola of Waukesha, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Samson S. Arreola, also preceded him in death in 2000.
Interment is at Hawaiian Memorial Park cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii, with arrangements by Woolsey-Hosoi Mortuary Services Inc.

Jimmie Phillips
Jimmie Leslie Phillips, 78, of Bremerton died Oct. 1, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Bonham, Texas, to John and Emma (Kelly) Phillips. He graduated from Bonham High School in 1941.
He married
Lorraine Ehn on July 4, 1948, in Burbank, Calif.
Mr. Phillips worked as a construction pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in California. He was a member of the union for 50 years.
His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and boating.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, John L. Phillips of Port Orchard, Mark J. Phillips of Aromas, Calif., and Mathew C. Phillips of Draper, Utah; two daughters, Melissa Manchester and her husband, Andrew, of Bremerton and Constance Rice and her husband, Daniel, of Port Orchard; a daughter-in-law, Cecilia Phillips of Eskdale, Utah; a brother, Carl Phillips of Poulsbo; three sisters, Annie Blake and her husband, Sam, Nettie Mendenhall and Marie Ball, all of Texas; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
At the family's request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation at the Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo.
Della Jensen
Della Joyce Jensen, 82, of Bremerton died Oct. 2, 2002, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
She was born May 7, 1920, in Ucon, Idaho, to Jack and Olive (Price) Coleman. She graduated from Rigby High School in Rigby, Idaho, in 1937.
She married
Elmer "Sam" Jensen in Idaho in 1940. They later were divorced. He died in 1995.
She worked in the tool shop at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 35 years until her retirement.
Her favorite pastimes were photography, travel and cake decorating. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Perry Avenue in East Bremerton.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Jensen of Bremerton and Clark Jensen of Joyce; a daughter, Dona Williams of Port Orchard; a brother, Jerry Coleman of Mercer Island; two sisters, Ethyl Coles of Idaho and Doris Horlacher of Utah; seven grandchildren, Brett, Lisa, Aaron, Kurt, Michelle, Jeff and Jamie; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and her companion of 25 years, Lewis Dunlap.
A funeral service will be at noon Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton with interment following at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements by Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
Martha Tornensis
Martha Tornensis, 95, a longtime resident of Poulsbo, died Sept. 29, 2002, at Liberty Shores in Poulsbo from complications of cancer.
She was born Dec. 24, 1906, in Finley, N.D., to Carl and Erika (Hanson) Ryen. She attended high school in Williston, N.D.
She was the postmistress in Alamo, N.D., for 15 years. She also worked at the Spokane Air Force Base for five years and for more than 30 years in the supply shop at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and at the Keyport torpedo station. She retired in 1970.
She was a life member of the Sons of Norway, a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo and a member of the Poulsbo Senior Center. Bowling was a favorite pastime.
Survivors include two brothers, Henry Ryen and his wife, Rose, of Poulsbo and Ralph Ryen of Spokane; and a sister, Esther Hodges of Albany, Ore.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 16 at the First Lutheran Church cemetery in Poulsbo, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo.

Clara Britt
Clara Elizabeth Salomon Britt, 75, of Bremerton died Oct. 2, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Houston, Idaho, to Carl and Rasmine (Larsen) Salomon. She graduated from Kuna High School in Kuna, Idaho, in 1944.
She married
Jack Britt on Sept. 6, 1953, in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Britt was one of Boeing's first computer programmers. She also worked at Highline Community College for many years.
She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Other interests were gardening, computers and knitting.
Mrs. Britt was a member of Silverdale Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Alan Britt and his wife, Wendy, of Tacoma; three daughters, Christine Davis and her husband, Paul, of Everett, Connie Farbo and her husband, Wally, of Poulsbo, and Cathy Rider and her husband, Howard, of Bothell; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Hans Salomon; and a sister, Astrid Reimann.
A private graveside service will be held today. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Silverdale Lutheran Church, 11701 Ridgepoint Drive. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Mary Morris
Mary M. Morris, 84, of Port Orchard, formerly of Bremerton, died Sept. 28, 2002, at Willow Creek Adult Care Home in Port Orchard.
She was born Feb. 14, 1918, in Hammon, Okla., to Ira and Lena (Freeman) Stewart. She graduated from Canton High School in Canton, Okla., and took business classes at a community college in Olympia.
She worked as a saleswoman for a department store in Idaho and Spokane. She also worked as a field office assistant with the Washington Highway Department.
Her interests included singing with the Sweet Adelines, growing and arranging flowers, entertaining at her home and sewing. She also enjoyed being with young people and participated in a Tacoma "Grandparents Group."
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Port Orchard.
Survivors include a son, Doyle D. Morris of Kennewick; a daughter, Patricia L. Woodrow of Port Orchard; two brothers, Ira M. Stewart of Cassville, Mo., and Jim Stewart of Spring Hill, Fla.; a sister, Alice Matchell of Belgrade, Mo.; and eight grandchildren, Pamela, Renny, Diana, Christopher, Theodore, Steven, David and Carey.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Beck.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Port Orchard Church of Christ, 2585 Carr Lane SE.

Leslie Ball
Leslie A. Ball, 85, of Poulsbo died Oct. 1, 2002, at his home.
He was born July 18, 1917, in Fort Benton, Mont., to Alfred and Elenora (Wells) Ball. He graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle.
He married
Leila Warren on June 18, 1943, in Port Gamble.
Mr. Ball served in the National Guard for 20 years. He also worked for 20 years at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor, retiring in 1978.
He was a ham radio operator.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vivian Florio and Virginia Ball, both of Poulsbo; a brother, Warren Ball of Olympia; and three grandchildren, Margaret, Jimmy and Nicole Florio, all of Poulsbo. He was preceded in death by sisters Beverly Hayes and Shirley Eliason.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bayside Community Church in Kingston.
Marion Neal
Marion J. Neal, 93, of Port Orchard died Oct. 1, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She was born Aug. 31, 1909, in Port Orchard to Gus and Jeannetta (Johnson) Lider.
She married
Archie Neal on March 2, 1929, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Neal was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Nichols of Belfair and Patrichia Gaubatz of Longview; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. One brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton. Interment
will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Robert Stanard II
Robert L. Stanard II, 26, of Belfair died Sept. 25, 2002, at Harrison Hospital of a heart condition.
He was born Aug. 6, 1976, in Port Angeles to Robert G. and Terryl A. (Lockwood) Stanard. He had attended North Mason High School.
Mr. Stanard worked as an auto mechanic for five years. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and repair.
Survivors include his parents, now of Belfair; a daughter, McKala Stanard; two sisters, Beverly H. and Dawn Suzzette Stanard, both of Belfair; and his grandparents, Robert L. Stanard, Dawn Stanard and Donna Mae Gillett Abbott.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Storehouse Church, 1403 Sidney Ave. in Port Orchard. Services are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.

Nevada Spearman
Longtime Yakima resident Nevada Letitia Jane (Roberts) Spearman, 105, of Bainbridge Island died Sept. 26, 2002, on Bainbridge Island. She had lived on the island since 1998.
She was born Feb. 8, 1897, in Terre Haute, Ind., to John W. and Julia A. (Bannister) Roberts.
She married
Theodore F. Spearman in Ellensburg in 1925. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Spearman was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Guiding Star Lodge 6 of the Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons, the NAACP, the Big Sisters Club and Mount Hope Baptist Church, all in Yakima.
Survivors include a son, Theodore Spearman of Bainbridge Island; a nephew, Thomas Tecumseh of Bremerton; a granddaughter, Simone Spearman of California; and a great-granddaughter, Saja Spearman Weaver of California.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors in Yakima. A funeral service will be held there at 11:30 a.m. Saturday followed by a graveside service at Tahoma cemetery in Yakima.
