Mary Truman
Mary Imogene Truman, 81, of Port Orchard died of cancer Nov. 28, 2002, at her home.
She was born July 20, 1921, at Belt, Mont., to Arthur and Mary (Ashworth) Swett. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School.
She married
Merle W. Truman on July 28, 1950, in Coos Bay, Ore. He died in 1997.
Ms. Truman and her husband operated Truman's T.V. in Port Orchard for many years.
She was a member of VFW Post 2669 Auxiliary in Port Orchard and held many positions, including district president.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita Truman of Port Orchard, Nancy Mazon and her husband, Mike, of Idaho and Penny Taylor and her husband, Dennis, of Idaho; two sons, Danny Lund and his wife, Debra, of
Gig Harbor, Dennis Lund and his wife, Laura, of Portland, Ore.; one stepson, David Truman of Oregon; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lund.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Interment
will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

Roy Hollis
Roy F. Hollis, 92, of Port Orchard died Nov. 13, 2002, in Maine.
He was born Dec. 26, 1909, in Marlboro, Mass.
Mr. Hollis worked for Boeing. He also made clocks in his own Port Orchard shop. He retired in 1971.
He was a member of the Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor (Irish) Hollis of Maine; and one grandson, Stephan R. Hollis.
No services will be held.
Marlys Gideon
Marlys Jean Huntley Gideon, 60, of Bremerton died Nov. 27, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Seattle to Gerald and Eloise (Wilson) Huntley. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1960 and attended Washington State University for one year.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, John Gideon of Bremerton; her mother, Eloise Gideon of Bainbridge Island; a son, Rick Gideon of Bremerton; and a sister, Mary Jo Huntley-McCarty of Malibu, Calif.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
Jack Herrell
Former Hood Canal and Bremerton resident John Bernard "Jack" Herrell, 72, of Edmonds died Nov. 26, 2002, at Stevens Hospital in Edmonds.
He was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Bremerton to Lindsay Boyd and Mildred Bertha (Helms) Herrell. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1948.
He married
Geri Herrell in Bremerton in 1976.
He served in the Army from 1948 to 1952, achieving the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Herrell worked as the fire chief at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 25 years, retiring in 1980.
He enjoyed crabbing, fishing and restoring old outboard motors.
Survivors include his wife of Edmonds; a son, Rick Herrell of Bremerton; three stepsons, Rocky Soliz of Seattle, Ray Soliz of Edmonds and Ronnie Soliz of Kent; two daughters, Debbie Davis of Chico and Toni Petty of Bremerton; two stepdaughters, Sylvia Soliz of Kingston and Theresa Youngers of Bremerton; two brothers, Lindsay Herrell of Kent and Jim Herrell of the Philippines; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Simkins.
Private services will be held.
Mabelle Ormiston
Former Port Orchard and Belfair resident Mabelle Niles Ormiston, 89, of Chehalis died of a stroke Nov. 28, 2002, at Sharon Care Center in Centralia.
She was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Diamond Bluff, Wis., to Harry Lee and Fanny (Wiley) Niles. She graduated from Livingston High School in Montana.
She married
Ormand Ormiston in July 1934 in Spokane. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Ms. Ormiston retired after working 17 years as supervisor of the South Kitsap School District food service department.
She enjoyed reading, writing and spending time with friends and family. She authored the book "Alias Milton" in 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Ron of Chehalis, Wayne of Mason Lake and Gary of Republic; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday in Centralia. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. today at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia. Interment
will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haven of Rest cemetery in Gig Harbor.

Frank Pfaff
Frank Michael Pfaff, 64, of Bremerton died Nov. 26, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1938, in Philadelphia to Frank M. and Emily S. (Wheeler) Pfaff. He attended Pleasantville High School in New Jersey and later received his GED.
He married
Gloria Kinter in Philadelphia. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Mr. Pfaff served in the Navy during the Vietnam Wars, achieving the rank of E5. He was awarded Secretary of Navy Commendation and Navy Achievement medals.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 19 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Toy Train Association and was the plank owner of USS Constellation CV-64.
Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Dausey Sr. of Oak Harbor and Steve A. Dausey of Owatonna, Minn.; two daughters, Francine M. Bogues of Burlington and Terri S. Taylor of Oak Harbor; a brother, Richard David Pfaff of Bremerton; a sister, Susan E. Pfaff of Pleasantville, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at noon.
Bertha Ingle
Bertha Ingle, 89, of Bremerton, died Nov. 27, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born May 26, 1913, in Eudora, Kan., to Lorenz and Mary (Schehrer) Speicher.
She married
Merle Ingle on May 10, 1941, in Eudora. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by two sons, Merle Ingle Jr. of
Lawrence, Kan., and Robert Ingle of Baldwin City, Kan.; two daughters, Jo Ingle of Eau Claire, Wis., and Clara Ingle of Bremerton; a sister, Teresa Brubaker of Baldwin City; a granddaughter, Katie; and two great-grandchildren, Lacy and Caly. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Russell.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.
Eunice Sharp-Rauth
Eunice M. Sharp-Rauth, 72, of Port Orchard died in an automobile accident Nov. 28, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Princeton, S.C., to James Hoyt and Eunice Frances (Estes) Mahon. She graduated from Honea Path High School in Honea Path, S.C., in 1947 and later attended Olympic College.
She married
James Sharp on Aug. 27, 1953, in Germany. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She married
Josef Rauth on Sept. 2, 1999, in Allyn.
Ms. Sharp-Rauth served in the Army from 1949 to 1954, achieving the rank of sergeant. She was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Occupation Medal.
She later worked as a cryptographic crew chief and telecommunications specialist in the Civil Service for 21 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Sons of Norway, Elks Club and the Seattle Ski Club. She attended Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Sharp of Tacoma and Randy Sharp of Tullahoma, Tenn.; a brother, Charlie Mahon of Princeton,
S.C.; a sister, Francis Mahon Dykes of Greenwood, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Erin Daniels of Tacoma, AJ Sharp, Dallas Rogers and Brandi Rogers, all of Tullahoma, Tenn. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathi Daniels-Sharp; a sister, Annie Martha "Mott" Mahon Lord; and a brother, James "Jake" Mahon.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at Memorial Lutheran Church. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Josef Rauth
Josef Rauth, 74, of Port Orchard died in an automobile accident Nov. 27, 2002, in Port Orchard.
He was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Indija, Yugoslavia, to Josef and Madgalena (Offenbecher) Rauth. He attended a trade school in Germany.
He married
Melitta Huneken on Oct. 15, 1955. They divorced in 1998.
He married
Eunice Sharp on Sept. 2, 1999, in Allyn.
He worked as a tool and die maker at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 52 years. He retired in 1996.
He was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Eagles. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, ballroom dancing and playing his accordion.
He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include two sons, Hans Helmut Rauth of
Spokane and Roger Kenneth Phillip Rauth of Poulsbo; four daughters, Astrid Lieselotte Eiken of Dusseldorf, Germany, Cornelia Ada de Felix of Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Ronnie Edeltrud Rauth of Allyn, and Melitta Linda Holland of Port Orchard; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Garnet Rauth.
Visitation is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A funeral Mass will be held at noon Saturday at Memorial Lutheran Church. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery.

Margie Harding
Former Port Orchard resident Margie Harding, 79, of Fremont, Neb., died of heart failure Nov. 7, 2002, in Fremont.
She was born July 19, 1923, in Osage County, Okla., to the Wyatts. She attended schools in Oklahoma.
She worked as a post exchange cashier in Japan and Hawaii, retiring in 1976.
She enjoyed crochet and fishing. She was a member of VFW Post 854 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 20 Auxiliary, both in Fremont.
Survivors include three sons, James D. Hancock and wife Audrey of Fremont, Roger O. Hancock and wife Debra of Lolo, Mont., and Jack Terry and wife Linda of Gaston, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Blanch Wyatt of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
Robert Brown
Former Bremerton resident Robert Eugene Brown, 76, of Olympia died Nov. 25, 2002, in Olympia.
He was born June 13, 1926, in Bremerton to Murel Jewel and Elizabeth Juanita (Williams) Brown.
He received his GED in Olympia and studied art and photography.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy from December 1944 to November 1952, achieving the rank of petty officer third class. He was awarded the American Area Campaign medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal.
He was a photographer and a salesman.
He enjoyed shooting and hunting.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Brown is survived by a stepfather, Lyle Hess, in Port Orchard; sons Dennis of Springfield, Ore., Kenneth of Olympia and Gordon of Federal Way; daughters Peggy Chadwell of West Haven, Utah, Wendy Ikerd of Puyallup and Joanna Morgan of Olympia; brothers Duane Brown of Bremerton and Ray Morgan of Millvill, Utah; sisters Maxine Conn of Arizona, Bonnie Ballew of Bremerton and Virginia Barnes of Texas; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers John and Murle Jewel Jr.
Visitation will be at noon today followed by a funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2225 Perry Ave. in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
