Margaret McCamish
Margaret J. McCamish, 85, of Manchester died Nov. 15, 2002, at B's Country Home in Manchester.
She was born Feb. 22, 1917, in St. Cloud, Minn., to John and Hazel (Teachout) Dam and was raised in the Tri-Cities. She graduated from Richland High School in 1933 and attended business college in Spokane.
She married
Walter McCamish on Sept. 10, 1938, in Richland. He died in 1985.
Mrs. McCamish was a homemaker and the devoted mother of four sons.
She was an avid reader and John Wayne buff. She also was active in local politics.
Mrs. McCamish lived in Burien from the 1950s to the late 1980s. She resided in Kitsap County in the 1940s and again became a resident in 1998.
Survivors include four sons, William "Duke" McCamish of Joppa, Md., John McCamish of Anchorage, Alaska, Kevin
McCamish of Gig Harbor and Keith McCamish of Tukwila; one brother, Norman Dam of Greenville, S.C.; one sister, Geraldine Peebles of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Cindy, Chris and Jeffrey McCamish, Anthony Parsons, Andrea DeCarlo, Amy Eckhoff and Karl Gucher; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Brandon DeCarlo.
Services are private. Her cremated remains will be scattered at Lake Dworshak in Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

Sig Ness
Sigurd W. "Sig" Ness, 103, of Port Orchard died Nov. 15, 2002, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
He was born Feb. 25, 1899, in Dwight Township, N.D., to Kristian and Simonethe (Heitmann) Ness. He completed the eighth grade at Dwight Township School in 1914 and attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, N.D.
He married
Mary Russell on Nov. 15, 1925, in Monrovia, Calif. She died in 1989.
Mr. Ness' professional life spanned 49 years. He worked as an auto mechanic, a telephone company electrician and an electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring from that position in 1964.
He was an active member of the Bethel Grange for
many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on home projects and music.
Survivors include one son, Charles Robert Ness and his wife, Sally, of Port Orchard; one daughter, Marilyn Coble and her husband, Howard, of Olympia; six grandchildren, Michael, William, Erik, Janet, Robert and Lisa; and nine great-grandchildren. Eleven brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
Private services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton.
Roanna Roth
Roanna May Roth, 52, of Bremerton died Nov. 13, 2002, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle after a sudden illness.
She was born July 19, 1950, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Clinton and Sylvia Bartow.
She married
Phillip F. Roth on Aug. 12, 1972, in Kingston.
Mrs. Roth was a homemaker who also owned and operated a service for the elderly. She assisted them with housecleaning, shopping, appointments, etc.
She was an active member of Jehovah's Witnesses. Favorite pastimes were gardening, art and theater.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, now of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; her father, now of Walton, N.Y.; three sons, Travis, Eric and Clinton Roth, all of
Bremerton; three daughters, Suzannah Leckel of Shell Lake, Wis., Luane Fiorito of Olalla and Shirlee Roth of Bremerton; three brothers, Brian Bartow of Hamden, N.Y., Keith Bartow of Franklin, N.Y., and Doug Bartow of Summit, N.Y.; one sister, Roxanna Baker of Schenevus, N.Y.; and four grandchildren, Christian, Leilani, Gwendolen and Allan.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3414 Ninth St. in Bremerton.
Josephine Yager
Josephine Yager, 98, of Bremerton died Oct. 14, 2002, of Alzheimer's disease at Messenger House Care Center on Bainbridge Island.
She was born Oct. 29, 1904, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to John and Johanna Conway.
She married
George Yager on Feb. 19, 1925, in New York City. He died in 1958.
Mrs. Yager worked as a switchboard operator in New York City, retiring in 1966.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton. Favorite pastimes were knitting, crossword puzzles and Mariners baseball.
Survivors include one son, William Yager of Bremerton; three grandchildren, George,
William and Katherine; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Peter, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton. A rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by a Mass there at 11 a.m. Interment
will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Women's Guild.
Nancy Richardson
Nancy (Linden) Richardson, 43, of Poulsbo died Nov. 10, 2002, of breast cancer at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1959, in Longview to Karl and Trenna (Ross) Linden. She graduated from Interlake High School in Bellevue in 1978 and from Ecola Bible College in Cannon Beach, Ore.
She enjoyed crafts and teaching children.
She was a member of Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Richardson; her mother, now of Poulsbo; one son, Travis Richardson of Poulsbo; one daughter, Eva Marie Richardson of Poulsbo; two brothers, Grant Linden of
Lynnwood and Dwight Linden of Daley City, Calif.; two sisters, Christina Jones of Woodinville and Susan Pugel of Bellevue.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Memorial Church, 18901 Eighth Ave. NE in Poulsbo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.

Oscar Knudson
Oscar R. Knudson, 86, of Poulsbo died Nov. 13, 2002, at Martha & Mary Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1916, in Clifford, N.D.
He married
Hilda Oen in 1952 in Port Townsend. She preceded him in death in 1996.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant before leaving in 1954. He was awarded three Bronze Service Stars for WWII, four Bronze Service Stars for the Korean War among other awards.
In addition to his career in the Army, Mr. Knudson worked at Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport.
He was a member of Sons of Norway Lodge 44 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2463. He also was a member of Vinland Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
He is survived by daughter Lil Baker of Poulsbo; grandsons Scott Baker of Poulsbo and Dave Baker of Santa Cruz; and three great-grandsons, David IV, Dion and Julian Baker.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Miller Woodlawn.
A memorial service will be at a 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sons of Norway in Poulsbo.
He will be interred at Miller Woodlawn.

Erwin Riechmann
Erwin Christian Riechmann, 93, of Bremerton died Nov. 10, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1909, in Chicago, Ohio, to Christian and Berta Ella (Belau) Riechmann. He graduated from high school in the Netherlands in 1927.
He married
Elsie Wilhelmina Zapka on June 10, 1939, at the home of the Rev. H. Waldvogel in Woodhaven, Long Island, N.Y. She preceded him in death in 1985.
Mr. Riechmann had worked as a machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1944 until his retirement in 1974. He received his machinist training in the Netherlands.
He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He had participated in men's bowling leagues in the Bremerton area.
Mr. Riechmann was raised in the Lutheran faith. He was very active in the senior centers in Belfair and Bremerton.
His survivors include two daughters, Leslie Marrs and her husband, Paul, of Port Orchard and Susan Conn and her husband, Jerry, of Bremerton; three grandchildren, Christine Hunsaker of Southworth, Dan Dressen and his wife, Selinda, of Port Orchard and Steve Conn and his fiancee, Rhonda, of Bremerton; and one grandchild, Haile Hunsaker of Southworth.
In 1998, a sister, Elizabeth Miller, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton. Visitation continues at noon Saturday before the 1 p.m. funeral service, also at Lewis. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton.

John Emel
John Emel, 87, of Edmonds died Nov. 14, 2002, in Edmonds.
Mr. Emel was a frequent visitor to Seabeck, where many members of his extended family live.
Mr. Emel was born May 7, 1915, in Valdez, Alaska, to John Mike Emel and Mary Theora (Major) Emel.
Mr. Emel attended high school at The Lakeside School in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington in 1939.
Like his father, he started a fish cannery in Alaska.
There he met his wife, Ruth Johnsson. They married
in August 1943 in Marshall, Alaska.
Mr. Emel is survived by his wife; two sons, John of Chicago, and Robert of Seattle; and four daughters, Margaret of Seattle, Barbara of Poulsbo, Gwen of Anchorage and Jackie of Arlington. He had 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. in Edmonds.

Maxine Williams
Maxine M. Williams, 70, of Port Orchard died Nov. 14, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Nov. 9, 1932, in Vici, Okla., to Art and Minnie (McCollum) Marler. She graduated from Vici High School in 1949.
She married
Donald E. Williams on July 2, 1952, in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of T.O.P.S., the Women's Missionary Society and the Pleasant Valley Church of God in Port Orchard.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donald E. Williams Jr. of Bremerton and Randy A. Williams of Port Orchard; two daughters, Katherine Albertson of California City, Calif., and Rhonda G. Zuick of Port Orchard; two brothers, Melvin Marler of Pahrump, Nev., and Dwayne Marler of Oklahoma City;
three sisters, Dorothy McAfee of Fife, Edith Kienast of Tacoma and Wilma Marler of Oklahoma City; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Valley Church of God, 4211 Feigley Road W. in Port Orchard. Interment
will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
