Bob Wolf
Robert J. "Bob" Wolf, 85, of Port Orchard died Nov. 14, 2002, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Oct. 20, 1917, in Beaver Falls, Minn., to Arthur and Annie (Hoskins) Wolf.
He married
Genevieve (Brady) Wolf on Sept. 28, 1940, in Moorhead, Minn. She died in 1999.
Mr. Wolf worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 25 years, retiring in 1981.
While living in Minnesota, he had been a professional singer, performing regularly on a radio show. Woodworking was one of his favorite pastimes.
His survivors include a son, Wayne Wolf of Port Orchard; a daughter, Gayle Rice of Lake Symington; a brother, Russell Wolf of Tacoma; two sisters, Vera Cox of Moorhead and Mabel Honeycutt of Tacoma; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A brother, Raymond Wolf, and a sister, Violet Jensen, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Interment
will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Linda Johnson
Linda Lee Johnson, 53, of Port Orchard died Nov. 13, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
She was born June 15, 1949, in Indiana, Pa., to Court and Helen (Smith) Kitchen.
She married
Jim Johnson of Port Orchard in 1976. The couple made their home in Port Orchard.
Mrs. Johnson worked for more than 25 years in the automobile industry, spending her last 14 years as comptroller of Toyota of Puyallup. She also volunteered with many charitable organizations, including Santa Cops of Puyallup, giving many hours to children.
Her favorite times were with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved the holidays with her family.
She is survived by her husband; three children, Kathy Lewis, Jim Johnson Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, and Erik Johnson, all of Port Orchard; a brother, Tom Kitchen and his wife, Carrie, of Port Orchard; and three grandchildren, Jordan, Jade and Jamie, all of Port Orchard.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Life Center, 1780 SE Lincoln Ave. in Port Orchard. Memorial donations may be made to Santa Cops of Puyallup.
Anne Fikinger Dugan
The Sun has just been notified of the death of Anne Fikinger Dugan, 87, of Bremerton. She died of pneumonia Sept. 13, 2002, in Everett.
She was born March 1, 1915, in Chicago to Anton and Katherine Fikinger.
She married
Lee G. Dugan on Jan. 16, 1937, in Chicago. He died in 1984.
Mrs. Dugan was a homemaker and crochet artist.
Her survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Kathy Dugan of Battle Creek, Mich., Patrick and Arlene Dugan of Everett and William and Linda Dugan of West Valley City, Utah; nine grandchildren, Sean, Scott, Keiley, Michaellyn, Jude, B.J., Chris, Suki and Aneesa; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were private.
David Sammons
David Wayne Sammons, 62, of Bremerton died Nov. 3, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Los Angeles to Albert Love and Freddye Alyse Sammons.
Mr. Sammons worked in a welding shop at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years, retiring this year.
He enjoyed music, art and world travel.
He also was a member of Unity Church of Bremerton.
His survivors include a brother, Maurice "Bud" Sammons of Bremerton; a sister, Betty M. Haggard and her husband, Hank, of Southworth; two nieces, Shyla and Jeri; and four nephews, Terry, Mark, Rex and John.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Clifford Tero
Clifford William Tero, 85, of Poulsbo died Nov. 10, 2002, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 24, 1917, in Poulsbo to Henry and Amand (Olson) Tero. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1935.
Mr. Tero served in the Navy during World War II.
He married
Dorothy Ridnour on Jan. 1, 1947, in Seattle. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Mr. Tero had worked with A&P Food Stores for more than 30 years, retiring as a manager.
Following his retirement, he operated Scandia Gardens for 10 years.
His favorite pastimes were gardening, fishing and watching the Mariners.
He is survived by a brother, Rudy Tero of Poulsbo. His son, Steven, also preceded him in death in 2001.
Private interment will be at Mountain View cemetery in Silverdale. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Suki McCaslin
Mitsuko "Suki" McCaslin, 67, of Port Orchard, formerly of Renton, died Nov. 8, 2002, in Silverdale.
She was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Japan. Her maiden name was Nozawa.
She married
Joe Pete McCaslin on June 11, 1955, in Sasebo, Japan. He died in 1998.
Her survivors include a son, Bob McCaslin of Kent; two daughters, Sue Scriven of Port Orchard and Joanne Hollibaugh of Renton; 10 grandchildren, Billie Jo, Joey, Branndi, John, Melissa, Tony, Megan, Elizabeth, Cody and Dylan; one great-grandson, Matt; and many relatives in Japan.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Church, 1700 Edmonds Ave. in Renton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

Beatrice Backlund
Former Silverdale resident Beatrice Backlund, 93, of Stanwood died Nov. 6, 2002, in Stanwood.
She was born Dec. 24, 1908, in Alberta, Canada.
She attended Whidbey Island High School, graduating from Seattle Pacific Normal School in 1928. She went on to graduate from Seattle Pacific College in 1933 and to receive an advanced degree from the University of Washington.
She married
Lawrence Backlund on Dec. 23, 1962, in Oakland, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Mrs. Backlund was a longtime member of Crossroads Neighborhood Church in Bremerton and Gideons International. She was a resident of the Warm Beach Senior Community in Stanwood where she had been active as a volunteer.
Her survivors include two sons, Wayne Backlund of Auburn and Marlon Backlund of Fircrest; a daughter, Darlene Brooks of Stanwood; a brother, Jonie Lewis of Southern California; a sister, Myra Clough of Mount Vernon; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Ken Backlund, in 2001; and by six brothers.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warm Beach Senior Community.

Brian O'Connor
Former Port Orchard resident Brian Patrick O'Connor, 17, of Garner, N.C., died Nov. 10, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 7, 1985, in Bremerton to Michael and Heidi O'Connor.
He lived his early years in Port Orchard, attending South Kitsap Christian School. He moved to North Carolina with his family in 1998 and attended Carnage Middle School and Garner Senior High School.
He enjoyed sports and excelled at baseball, soccer and wrestling. He also enjoyed golf and bowling.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Garner.
He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Daniel James and Sean Michael O'Connor of Garner; his maternal grandfather, Don Carney of Raleigh, N.C.; his paternal grandparents, Jack O'Connor of Duvall and Catherine O'Connor of Port Orchard; and many aunts and uncles.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Garner. Interment
will be at Oakwood cemetery in Raleigh, N.C.

Mary Elkins
Mary E. Elkins, 81, of Port Orchard died Oct. 25, 2002, in Port Orchard.
She was born April 3, 1921, in Banks, N.D., to Joseph and Hildred (Hennagir) Rossi.
She worked with the Del Monte Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
Her favorite pastimes were quilting and rock hunting.
Her survivors include a daughter, Rita L. Greville and her husband, John, of Lakebay; two sisters, Mildred C. Young of Milwaukie, Ore., and Bernice V. Montgomery of Port Orchard; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Victor L. Howard; two brothers, John A. and Joseph A. Rossi; and a sister, Doris M. Ver Weire.
Private services were held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Wash.
Annaburt Bollinger
Annaburt Bollinger, 72, of Bremerton died of chronic obstructed pulmonary disease Nov. 11, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Port Costa, Calif., to Frank and Vera (Duncan) Howell.
She married
John Albert Bollinger on Feb. 4, 1947, in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Bollinger was a homemaker devoted to her family.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, singing, dancing, travel and sports. In later years, she became an award-winning billiard player.
Mrs. Bollinger was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 68 in Bremerton.
Her survivors include her husband; three sons, John E. and Mike Bollinger, both of Bremerton, and Jeffrey Bollinger of Belfair; four daughters, Toni Cuvalo, Margaret Bollinger and Kelly Strand, all of Bremerton, and Tracy L. Harker of Belfair; two brothers, Ralph Howell of Salem, Ore., and Charles Howell of Bremerton; four sisters, Edith Webber of Salem, Frances Burgoyne of Grants Pass, Ore., Vera Wolf of Port Orchard and Grace Mitchell of Centralia; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Belle (Howell) Burgoyne, and a granddaughter, Laura Mae.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 68, 1240 Sheridan Road in East Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.

Phyllis Hunsley
Phyllis Elaine Hunsley, 66, of Belfair died Nov. 12, 2002, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
She was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Columbia City, Ind., the daughter of Carl Eugene and Irma Grace (McCoy) Eberhard. She graduated from Joliet High School in Joliet, Ill., in 1954.
She married
Carl H. Hunsley Jr. on Sept. 2, 1972, in Littleton, Colo., and worked in a medical business office.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, camping and being a mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, of Belfair; her mother, of Tahuya; two sons, Gary Lee Taylor of Longview and James Daniel Taylor of Littleton, Colo.; three daughters, Barbara Lynn Taylor of Bremerton,
Kathleen Ann (Taylor) Vocks and Diane Elizabeth (Taylor) Vocks, both of Taylorville, Ill.; four brothers, Carl Eberhard and Robert Eberhard, both of Tahuya, Stanley Eberhard of Belfair and Charles Eberhard of Litchfield, Minn.; a sister, Shirley Gorman of Joliet, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn (Eberhard) Smith.
