Carolyn Paulson
Carolyn Jean Paulson, 56, of Poulsbo died March 18, 1999, in Poulsbo.
She was born Jan. 3, 1943, in Port Gamble to Carl and Kathryn (Ellis) Kallstrom. She grew up in Poulsbo, attending elementary school there and later graduating from high school in Colville.
She married
Ray Paulson on Feb. 23, 1963, in Poulsbo. He preceded her in death last year.
She worked as a dental assistant and bookkeeper for 11 years. She was a member of Poulsbo Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her parents; a son, Mark Hirst of Florida; a stepson, Dennis Paulson of Poulsbo; a daughter, Dianne Parris of Poulsbo; two sisters, Kathy Enriquez of Sumner and Kris Docken of Suquamish; and one granddaughter, Rachel Hirst.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Poulsbo Church of the Nazarene.
Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Inurnment will be at Breidablik cemetery in Poulsbo.

Roland Boink
Roland Boink, 84, of Port Orchard died March 19, 1999, at his home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Herman and Mildred Boink. He was raised in Scotia, N.Y., graduating from Scotia High School in 1933.
On April 3, 1943, he married
Thelma (Thompson) Boink in Las Vegas.
Mr. Boink served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a flight engineer of B-29s. Later, he worked as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was just shy of receiving his 50-year pin.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2669.
Survivors include his wife; his son, Raymond of Port Orchard; his daughter, Pamela Hodges of Port Orchard; and three grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Boink and Athena Hodges.
Private services will be held. Private inurnment will be at Fraola cemetery in Port Orchard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Helen Dolen
Helen C. Dolen, 68, of Bremerton died of cancer March 19, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born March 26, 1930, in Bremerton to Frank and Delia (Powers) Bunker. She was raised and educated in Bremerton.
In June 1948, she married
Earl Dolen.
Mrs. Dolen worked at the Navy's Fleet Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of the Nipsic Senior Center.
Survivors include her former husband, Earl; two sons, Earl and David, both of Kitsap County; three daughters, Chris Snow, Debbie Moritz and Linda Boyer, all of Kitsap County; one sister, Barbara Ortega of Ogden, Utah; and seven grandchildren, Brian, Scott and Shyla Moritz, Bobby and Jessie Boyer, and Frank and Margaret Dolen, all of Kitsap County.
A private service will be held.

Beverly Wood
Beverly Ann (King) Wood, 44, of Bremerton died March 15, 1999, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 15, 1954, in Beverly, Mass., to Doris Susan (Chipman) King and Frank King.
She graduated from Beverly High School in 1972 and from Beverly Community College in 1975.
Ms. Wood worked for the Bank of America and Seafirst Bank in Seattle for several years.
She is survived by her parents, who now reside in Rockport, Mass.; and three sisters, Marci Staudte of Cedar City, Utah, Susan Hawes of Gloucester, Mass., and Janis Johnson of York, Maine.
A memorial service will be at 7 tonight at Rill Chapel.

Chris Johnson
Chris T. Johnson, 82, of Bremerton died March 19, 1999, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Bigfork, Minn., to Sven and Carrie (Ellefson) Johnson. He was raised in Bigfork, Minn.
On May 29, 1940, he married
Clare J. (Wicklund) Johnson in Bremerton.
Mr. Johnson retired from the Bremerton Fire Department in 1958.
He and his wife were recipients of a 1998 Unsung Hero award given by The Sun.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Stephen of Redmond, Peter of Bremerton, Daniel of Seabeck and Victor of Bremerton; two daughters, Christine Haymaker of Lakewood and Phyllis Johnson of Seabeck; a brother, Harold of Chehalis; nine grandchildren, Lars Haymaker, Tami Mann, Jessica Christopher, Eric Vaughn and Corissa, Casey, Crystle, Caleigh and Shane Johnson; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Debra Meriwether Madderra, in 1997.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn cemetery, with a memorial service following at Abundant Life Foursquare Church, 5610 Kitsap Way, Bremerton.

Raymond Rabbitt Jr.
Raymond Lee Rabbitt Jr., 76, of Bremerton died of a lingering illness March 20, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 13, 1922, in Holcombe, Wis., to Raymond Lee and Minnie (Beighley) Rabbitt. He was raised in Cornell, Wis.
Mr. Rabbitt served in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1970.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Bremerton. He was also a past president of Bremerton Eagles.
Survivors include his former wife, Ruth Rabbitt of Port Orchard; two sons, Richard L. Rabbitt of Burlington and Victor Mertz of Port Ludlow; one sister, Beulah Beaulieu of Cornell, Wis.; and two grandsons, Richard Lee Rabbitt Jr. and Raymond Leon Rabbitt, both of Waynesville, Mo. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mabel Holloway of Tacoma, in 1993.
No services have been scheduled at this time.

Ewart Harvey
Ewart Gladstone Harvey, 78, of Bremerton died March 20, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born March 9, 1921, in Brookland, Va., to Robert and Rena (Jones) Harvey.
He was raised in Virginia until age 16, when the family moved to the Panama Canal Zone. He graduated from Balboa High School in Panama.
On Jan. 5, 1957, he married
Lillian E. (Searle) Harvey in Bremerton.
Mr. Harvey served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1952 until retiring in 1973 as a machinist progressman.
He was a member of Darien Masonic Lodge in Panama, Scottish Rite Valley of Balboa Orient of Panama Canal, Abou Saad Temple at the Panama Canal, Eagles Lodge 192 of Bremerton and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors include his wife and one brother, Robert of Cleveland.
At the family's request, there will be no service. Cremation is at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Jack Finsrud
Jack Finsrud, 73, of Bremerton died March 16, 1999.
He was born May 1, 1925, in Laurence, Wash., to Tom and Iva (Baldwin) Finsrud. She was raised in Deming, Wash., graduating from Mount Baker High School in 1946.
Mr. Finsrud served in the Navy. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the American Legion posts 68, 149, 30, 40/8 Voiture 84, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter WA5, Eagles Aerie 2338, Elks Lodge 1181 and VFW Post 4992.
Survivors include his companion, Theresa Berentsen; three daughters, Elaine of Houston, Texas, Jacqueline Perry of Seattle and Lisa Gleason; two brothers, Orville and Thorvald, both of Deming; a sister, Joan Peterson of Campbell, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Whitney and Courtney Gleason, both of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by spouses Delia Vera Finsrud and Mildred Finsrud.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. March 26 at the American Legion Post 68.

Gail Martell
Gail K. Martell, 50, of Bremerton died March 15, 1999, at her home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1949, in Fresno, Calif., to Bryce and Norma Morris. She was raised and educated in Fresno, graduating from Fresno High School in 1968. She later attended Fresno City College. In 1968, she married
John A. Martell in Carson City, Nev.
Survivors include her husband, her mother of Fresno and her son, John, of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by a daughter.
