Albert Campbell Jr.
Albert Campbell Jr., 70, of Bremerton died March 2, 1999, at his home following a short battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 1, 1928, in York County, Penn., to Helen (Whitmer) and Albert Campbell Sr. He was raised and educated in York County, graduating from high school in 1945.
On Oct. 2, 1986, he married
Charlena Doran in Reno, Nev.
Mr. Campbell served in the Navy from 1945 to 1949. He later worked as a firefighter for the city of Bremerton for more than 20 years. He then moved to Port Angeles, managing the Red Ranch Inn Motel from 1985 to 1993.
He managed the Warren Avenue Pee-Wee, along with the American Legion, Connie Mac, Pop's Inn and Nygards basketball teams.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott of Bremerton; two daughters, Amanda Boger of Richland and Kim Anderson of Tacoma; a brother, Jay of Fairfield, Calif.; a sister, Donna Key of Phoenix; and five grandchildren, Wyatt and Katelyn Campbell, Ryan and Kevin Bogar and Abigail Pratt.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Elks Temple, 4131 Pine Road NE, Bremerton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, with cremation arrangements by Cherry Grove Memorial Park.

Marilou Torkelson
Marilou Jane Torkelson, 73, of Bremerton died after an extended illness March 6, 1999, at her home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Seattle to Richard and Bernadine (Morewiser) Selber. She was raised and educated in Seattle, graduating from Holy Angels Catholic High School in 1942.
On Sept. 17, 1954, she married
Tork Torkelson in Bremerton.
Mrs. Torkelson worked at Bremers Department Store, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Dan McDonald of Bremerton; a daughter, Kathy "K.C." McDonald of Kodiak, Alaska; two stepdaughters, Judy Torkelson of Bremerton and Nancy Seiler of Roy; a stepson, Dale Torkelson of Seattle; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell McKee Funeral Home.

Katherine Rohwein
Katherine A. (Herbach) Rohwein, 86, died March 5, 1999, in Bremerton.
She was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada.
In 1930, she married
George P. Rohwein in Shaw, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Survivors include three sons, Ted, Ray and Charles, all of Bremerton; five daughters, Christine Bojarski of Olympia, Mary Smith and Dorothy Amos, both of Bremerton, Shirley
Rosary recitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday with a funeral service following at 11, at Holy Trinity Church.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea School, Hospice of Kitsap County, Holy Trinity Church or to the Cancer Fund.

Erna Sodorff
Erna Strum Sodorff, 89, of Port Orchard died March 6, 1999.
She was born in Seattle on Jan. 17, 1910, to Ernest and Nora Blanch Bates. She graduated from West Seattle High School and Ellensburg Normal School.
She taught in a one-room school house in Sonnett, Mont., where she met Charles Strum, whom she married
in 1930.
They lived in Seattle, where they raised their family. She also lived in Long Beach for years before moving to Port Orchard in 1990.
She is survived by a son, Ernest Strum of Red Lodge, Mont.; a daughter, Charlotte Mossman Garrison of Port Orchard; two sisters, Ruth Allison of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Myrle Walker of Oakridge, Ore.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Strum and Sheldon Sodorff; a son, Raymond Strum; and a sister, Majel Crawford.
She was a Camp Fire leader and trainer for 25 years. She volunteered with United Way, the Literacy Council and the Port Orchard Library. And she was a member of Port Orchard Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Port Orchard Methodist Church.

Margaret Brown
Margaret Brown, 77, Bremerton died March 5, 1999, at her home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Bremerton to Albert and Vivian Blankenship. She graduated from Bremerton High in 1940 and lived in the Bremerton area most of her life.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Swanson of Redmond and William Swanson of Portland; two daughters, Judith Carter and Kristine Higgs, both of Bremerton; 10 grandchildren, Michael Swanson and Melissa Dunford, both of North Bend, Mark Swanson and Ami Carter, both of Seattle, Jerry Swanson of Henderson, Nev., Veronica Swanson of Gaston, Ore., and Juli Williams and Joshua, Gabe and Jake Higgs, all of Bremerton; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, James Brown, preceded her in death.
She requested no service, but there will be a gathering for family and friends at the home of Bill and Judi Carter, 2675 NE John Carlson Road, Bremerton, at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Orlene Ericksen
Orlene May Ericksen, 89, of Poulsbo died March 1, 1999, in Bremerton.
She was born May 15, 1909, in Marquette, Kan., to Charles J. and Belle S. (Straethe) Carlson. She was raised in Poulsbo, graduating from high school in 1928.
On Nov. 29, 1933, she married
Leif Ericksen in Poulsbo.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ralph of Port Townsend; two daughters, Shirley Olsen of Bainbridge Island and Rosalie Dormaier of Bremerton; two sisters, Beatrice Phelps of Bremerton and Gladys Batt of Bremerton; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. March 14 at Chico Alliance Church. A private interment will be at Mountain View cemetery.

Jesse Feldman
Jesse Lee Feldman, 69, of Belfair died March 2, 1999, at Fir Lane Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton.
He was born July 17, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to John and Virgie (Williams) Chambers. He was raised and educated in Cincinnati.
On April 19, 1965, he married
Leialani Chang in Pearl City, Hawaii.
He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1972 as a hull technician, working on submarines such as the USS Kamehameha. Following his retirement in 1972, he served in the Navy Reserve until 1982.
Mr. Feldman was a member of the Fleet Reserve and did volunteer work for the Friends of the Library, the Timberland Library in Belfair and the Mason County Food Bank.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shelly; a stepdaughter, Bobbi Owen of Poulsbo; a brother, James of Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be conducted.

Harry Reaves
Harry Caleb Reaves, 75, of Bremerton died March 2, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Danville, Va., to Charlie and Lottie (Davis) Reaves. He was raised in Danville and graduated from Olympic College in 1978.
On Feb. 22, 1952, he married
Ellen Louise Holt in Columbia, S.C.
Mr. Reaves served in the Navy from 1943 to 1974, retiring as a senior chief hospital corpsman after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William of Tucson, Ariz., and Robert of Oxford, Ala.; a daughter, Janet Burt of Othello; a sister, Sudie Brady of Philadelphia, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private family services were conducted. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
William Sigo Jr.
William Sigo Jr., 79, of Bremerton died March 2, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1919, in Bremerton to William Sigo Sr. and Mabel (Peterson) Sigo.
He was raised in Bremerton and graduated from Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Ore., in 1938.
He was in the Army from 1941 to 1945, serving in the European and African theaters. Mr. Sigo worked as a pipefitter at the Manchester fuel depot for 29 years, retiring in 1978. He also worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot Bangor as a pipefitter from 1945 to 1949.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include three sons, William III of Pendleton, Ore., and David and Frederick, both of Suquamish; three daughters, Nancy of Kingston, Donna of Port Orchard and Sandy Walkup of Minnesota; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Suquamish Tribal Center. Interment
will follow at 2 p.m. at the Suquamish Tribal cemetery.
