Mildred "Millie" Satran died November 29, 2003 at the Port Orchard Care Center in Port Orchard, Washington. She was 80.
She was born in Allen, Oklahoma July 11, 1923 to Robert & Bonnie (Hayes) Hammonds.
Mildred married
Kenneth Satran in Belfair, Washington in 1942.
Millie worked for the Theler and Oberg families and worked at various businesses in Belfair.
She enjoyed life by being surrounded by friends and a large family; she was a member of the North Mason Eagles and Fire Department Auxilary.
Mildred is survived by sons - Kenneth Satran (& wife, Vickie) of Belfair, Robert Satran (& wife, Kim) of Belfair, Kim Satran of Belfair; daughters - Jan Chrey of Bremerton, Judy Jesfield (& husband, Jim) of Belfair, Jill Satran-Loudin (& husband, Mike) of Belfair; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great/great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Satran, 1 sister, 3 brothers.
A Graveside Service will be held at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 2:00 p.m.
A potluck reception will follow at the North Mason Eagles in Belfair.

Jeanette Smith
Jeanette 'J.J." K. Smith died at her Bremerton, Washington home on November 29, 2003. She was 57.
She was born in San Francisco, California September 11, 1946 to Alfred and Frances Boe.
She volunteered at Naval Avenue Elementary School as a reading tutor; she enjoyed being around her friends and her pets; loved her grandson very much.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter Cheryl Jarvis (& husband, Scott) of Bremerton; sisters - Alice Silvey of San Jose, California, Mary Prosser of Charlotte, North Carolina and Sherry Gingrey of Bremerton, Washington; 6 nieces and nephews; and, 1 grandchild - Zachary Jarvis.
A private gathering will be held.
Dominic Mielnicki
Dominic A. Mielnicki died at Washington Veterans Home in Retsil, Washington December 2, 2003. He was 82.
He was born August 4, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Kasper and Sophia (Pogorzelski) Mielnicki.
Dominic served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as Seaman First Class.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus.
Dominic is survived by son-in-laws - Douglas S. Hadley of Redmond, Washington, Kevin M. Zahnle of Franktown, Colorado; daughters - Gloria Hadley of Redmond, Washington, Donna Mielnicki of Englewood, Colorado, Marianne Zahnle of Franktown, Colorado; brothers - John Mielnicki of Chicago, Illinois, Joseph Mielnicki of Chicago, Illinois; sisters - Therese Mielnicki of Chicago, Illinois, Jean Koziol of Lock Port, Illinois, Ann Freidman of Chicago, Illinois; 1 grandchild - Sarah Hadley of Redmond, Washington.
A visitation will be held at Washington Veterans Home Chapel, of Retsil, Washington Friday, December 5, 2003 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
A funeral service will be held at Washington Veterans Home Chapel of Retsil, Washington Friday, December 5, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Retsil cemetery, Retsil, Washington.

Archie Sabo
Archie John Sabo of Port Orchard, Washington died December 6, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 66.
He was born September 24, 1937 in Minot, North Dakota to Ingvald and Hazel (White) Sabo.
Archie worked as a brush picker, cement finisher and logger; and, had also been employed with Boeing in Renton and Bangor Naval Base.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing; and, loved Labrador Retrievers and animals.
Archie is survived by his son - John Denning Sabo of Oklahoma; daughters - Jo Ellen Sabo, Dianna Sabo, Bonnie Sabo, Sherri Sabo (all of Oklahoma), and Aleesha Ehrhardt of Ellensburg, Washington; step-brothers - Robert Shattun of Port Orchard and LeRoy Shattun of Bremerton; sisters - Marjorie Endsley (& husband, Tom) of Port Orchard, Donna Entz (& husband, Gene) of Newton, Kansas; step-sisters - Dorothy Heille (& husband, Joe) of Minnesota, Marion Leigh of Minot, North Dakota; numerous grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.
Myrtle Mosier
Myrtle Irene Mosier died of natural causes December 6, 2003 at her Port Orchard, Washington residence. She was 79.
She was born Jamuary 17, 1924 in Aberdeen, Washington to Fred and Gertrude (Fiscus) Mallette.
She married
Edward L. Mosier April 4, 1942 in Port Orchard,Washington.
Myrtle attended Weather Wax High in Aberdeen, Washington.
She was a homemaker all of her life.
Myrtle enjoyed stamps, embroidery, drawing, cross work puzzles, music and her dogs!
She was a member of Belfair Asembly of God, where she taught Sunday School for the past 52 years.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Edward L. Mosier; son - David L. Mosier, Sr.; daughter - Kristeen Hamar (& husband, Timothy) of Port Orchard, Washington; 4 grandchildren (Michelle Moore, David L. Mosier, Jr., T. Paul Hamar, Angela Blair); 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A memorial service will be held at Belfair Assembly of God at 23001 N.E. Hwy 3, Belfair, WA on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.

Sylvia Smith
Sylvia C. Smith of Port Orchard, Washington died December 3, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 67.
She was born October 5, 1936 in San Francisco, California to Robert and Zella (Mahood) Lee.
Sylvia married
Waldon L. Smith August 28, 1958 in San Francisco, California.
She has been a homemaker, wife, and mother.
Sylvia was a devoted Seattle Mariners fan; and, was also devoted to taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years - Waldon L. Smith, of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; son - Marty Smith of Port Townsend, Washington; daughter - Kim Smitha (& husband, Randy) of Hawaii and Mechell of Seattle; 4 grandchildrens (Morgan, Mikey, Monica and Angela). She was preceded in death by her brother - Luther E. Newman.
A Memorial Service will was held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center December 6, 2003 at 3:30 p.m.
Inurnment followed at Sunset Lane Memorial Park of Port Orchard, Washington.

Albert Mares
Albert J. Mares of Port Orchard, Washington died December 8, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was 67.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minnisota to Albert J. and Edna L. Mares.
Albert married
Lavena in San Angelo, Texas August 17, 1960.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1955; and, graduated from Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington in 1972.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 - 1961 - attaining rank of Airman 1st Class E-3. Albert received the Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Discharge.
Albert worked for the Port Orchard Police Department for 17 years - retiring in 1981.
He worked 13 years at Olympic College as Safety and Security Supervisor - retiring in 1997.
Albert was a member of the Lions Club, Peninsula Bonsai Club, Kiwanis, Gardener, Fathoms O' Fun; and, was a Little League Baseball umpire.
He is survived by his wife - Lavena M. Mares of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; son - Charles M. Mares (& wife, Jan) of Port Orchard, Washington; daughter - Adonna M. Swart (& husband, Roger) of West Salem, Wisconsin; brother - James A. Mares (& wife, Yvonne) of Wenatchee, Washington; sisters - Patricia Jones (& husband, Don) of Seattle, Washington, Janet Webster of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Judy Swain of Sumner, Washington; 8 grandchildren (Trevor, Tana and Tyler Swart; Jessica & Danya Mares; Riley Moran; Craig & Shawon Hoskins).
Visitation will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on December 12, 2003.

James Burchard
James R. "Jim" Burchard of Port Orchard, Washington died November 29, 2003 at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard, Washington. He was 76.
He was born April 12, 1927 in Havre, Montana to Charles and Anna Mae (Dubois) Burchard.
James married
June (Scott) Burchard June 15, 1952 in Fort Benton, Montana.
He attended Havre High School in Havre, Montana; and, received a GED while in the Marines. He also attended Northern Montana College in Havre, Montana.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII - 1944.
James worked for Great Northern Railroad for 20 years retiring as a pipefitter/sheet metal mechanic.
In 1966 he started work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a pipe fitter; and, retired in 1981 as a reactor plant general foreman. He worked 15 years before retiring in 1981.
He was active in the church with building the 2nd phase of original church building and leadership in the church. His life was his kids and grandkids; involved in owning and operting family grocery stores in Manchester and Olalla, Washington; built 3 of the family homes - called himself "Jack of All Trades, Master of None".
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
James is survived by his wife - June (Scott) Burchard of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; sons - Bryant Burchard, Reed Burchard (& wife, Cheryl) and Chuck Burchard - all of Port Orchard; daughter - Becki Kabelac (& husband, Ron) of Port Orchard; daughter-in-law - Ellura Duplex of Evans, Colorado; brothers - Sam Burchard of California, Vern Burchard of Havre, Montana, Gary Burchard of Spokane, Washington; sisters - Alyce Matson, Peggy Cloke, Mary Kelly (all of Spokane), Doreen Gault of Havre, Montana, Evelyn Hoffman of Missoula, Montana; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: son - Robert Burchard, 3 grandchildren (Jason, Thomas, and Shalynn).
A visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2003 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.
