Shelley Green
Lifelong Bremerton resident Shelley Suzanne Green, 48, died of cancer April 16, 1999, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1950, in Bremerton to Glenn and Dorothy (Syverson) Green. She was raised and educated in Bremerton.
She made her living as a bartender, working for several different local establishments.
Survivors include her mother; a son, Richard of Seabeck; a brother, Nicky of Seabeck; and two sisters, Judy McKinsey of Bremerton and Terry Henry of Timberlakes, Wash.
She was preceded in death by a brother Jerry in 1968 and by her father in 1979.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A gathering for family and friends will follow at Melody Lane, 536 Fourth St.
Cremation is by Cherry Grove Memorial Park, with arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383.

Vitalina Lloyd
Vitalina "Vi" Lloyd, 74, of Port Orchard died April 17, 1999, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Newark, N.J., to Candido and Gzaura (Lopez) Barbosa. She was raised in New Jersey, graduating from a Catholic school in Newark.
On April 11, 1944, she married Ken Lloyd in New York. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Lloyd worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during World War II. She then worked as a housekeeper and cook for the parish at St. Gabriel Catholic Church and also worked at St. Vincent de Paul in Port Orchard.
During World War II, she taught English to Portuguese sailors and was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), the Harper Garden Club, the Dr. A.G. Allen Orthopedic Guild, Harmony Clubs at St. Gabriel and was a cook for that group.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Amanda Lloyd of Woodbridge, Va.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Richard, in 1997 and by a grandson, Greg, in 1991.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday at Rill Chapel. Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Port Orchard. Interment icon will be at Sunset Lane cemetery following services.
Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 1209 Bay St., Port Orchard, WA 98366.

Linda Berry
Linda Valborg Berry, 94, of Bremerton died April 16, 1999, at the Sunrise Care and Rehabilitation Center on Oyster Bay.
She was born Aug. 16, 1904, in Preston, Wash., to Olaf and Maria (Mattson) Linne.
Mrs. Berry was a resident of Bremerton for the past 65 years and had worked for the city of Bremerton as an activity director. She also was involved in the formation of the Bremerton Symphony and the Community Theater.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Bruns of Belfair and Shirley Van Sant of Koontz, Texas; a sister, Myrtle Chichester of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A gathering for family and friends will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Cremation will at Cherry Grove Crematory with inurnment to follow at Houston National cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
The family requests that memorials be made to your favorite charity.

Michael Hyrnio
Michael Hyrnio, 79, of Port Orchard died April 17, 1999, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1919, in Philadelphia.
He married Millie Dunauskas in Philadelphia on Nov. 29, 1941.
He was in the Navy from 1940 to 1946, then worked as an electronic technician for 27 years, retiring in the mid-1980s.
Survivors included his wife; a son, Michael, of Sugar Hill, N.H.; a daughter, Christina Hrynio of Port Orchard; and a brother, Peter of Runnemede, N.J.
There will be no services. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
Memorials donations can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416 Silverdale, WA 98383.

Ilene Johnson
Ilene V. Johnson, 74, of Kingston died of cancer April 16, 1999.
She was born July 26, 1924, in Walla Walla to Frank and Lucile Strode She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1942.
On Dec. 23, 1941, she married Frank Johnson in Idaho. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Billie T. Johnson of Kingston; a daughter, Lucy C. Harter of Olympia; a brother, Tom Strode of Kooskia, Idaho; two sisters, Sharon Brown of Olympia and Paula Hershey of Halifax, Pa.; four grandchildren, Kurtis Johnson of Everett, Kimberley Jones of Kingston, Cindra Harter of Seattle and Kristine Harter of Olympia; and eight great-grandchildren.
An open house in her honor will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. today at her home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

Dorothy York
Dorothy May York, 77, of Olalla died April 13, 1999, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Cortland, N.Y., to Mosher and Ruth (Harbert) Butler.
In 1942, she graduated from Indiana University, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.
On Sept. 16, 1944, she married Gerald York in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include a sister, Barbara Chase of Winston-Salem, N.C.
There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Lillian Hemphill
Former Bremerton resident Lillian G. (Kelly) Hemphill, 96, died April 6, 1999, at the Fort Vancouver Convalescent Center in Vancouver, Wash.
She was born Feb. 12, 1903, in Tekoa, Wash., to Seymour and Lula (Dickinson) Kelly. She was raised in Seattle and attended Queen Anne High School.
On Feb. 14, 1925, she married Melville B. Hemphill at the old Seattle General Hospital. Melville preceded her in death in May 1969.
Mrs. Hemphill was a homemaker, telephone operator and then a licensed practical nurse at Bremerton's old Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Star of the Sea parish in Bremerton before becoming a member of the St. Joseph's parish of Vancouver.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Vancouver and Jim of Wallace, Idaho; nine grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alva; two sisters, Gladys and Leila; a half-brother, Daniel; and a half-sister, Anne.
Mass was conducted April 12 at St. Joseph's Church of Vancouver. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. April 27 at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Sammel McPeak
Sammel K. McPeak, 68, of Port Orchard died April 5, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 5, 1930, in Bowling Green, Ky., to Albert and Ida (Dyer) McPeak. He was raised in San Bernardino, Calif., graduating from San Bernardino High School.
Mr. McPeak served in the Marine Corps from 1947 to 1951. He was a baker during the Korean War, achieving the rank of sergeant. He later worked as a baker at the Ruth Askbrook Bakery in Seattle for 35 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Alice of Yucaipa, Calif., and Lisa of California; two brothers, Joseph of Plainfield, Ind., and Paul of Port Orchard; a sister, Mary Welch of Port Orchard; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons and one daughter.
Private services will be conducted. Interment icon will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Washington Affiliate Inc., 557 Roy St., Seattle, WA 98109.

Gavin Caudill
Gavin Jase Caudill, 2 months, of Port Orchard died April 14, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 17, 1999, in Ta-coma to Esequiel Robles and Stormy Caudill.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Ryan of Port Orchard; his grandparents, Billy and Lois Caudill of Port Orchard, Sharon Spencer of Port Orchard and Thomas Robles of San Antonio; and his great-grandparents, Arthur and Phyllis Cook of Port Orchard, Mable Caudill of South Carolina, Carol Wood of Port Orchard and Erick Heins of Tacoma.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Lila Perry
Lila Edna Perry, 73, of Allyn died April 13, 1999, in Allyn.
She was born July 26, 1925, in Dover, Idaho. She moved to Renton in 1945, then to Allyn in 1990.
During World War II, Mrs. Perry worked for The Boeing Co. She also was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Chester and Tom, both of Renton, and Jerry of Allyn; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville W. Perry, in 1990 and by a son, Orville Jr.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today, and a funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, both at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton.
