Santiago Yorba
Santiago Anthony Yorba, 33, a resident of the Olalla area for 25 years, died April 11, 1999.
He was born Oct. 14, 1965, in Los Angeles to Daniel and Ester Yorba.
Mr. Yorba worked for the Western Oyster Company.
Survivors include his parents; four sons, Santiago Jr., Nicholas, Brandon and Austin, all of Port Orchard; three brothers, Jose, Raymond and Danny, all of Olalla; and two sisters, Rosalind and Ana Yhaya, both of Olalla.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Haven of Rest Chapel. A graveside committal will follow at Old Gig Harbor cemetery.
Buel Stotts
Buel Winfield Stotts, 81, of Bremerton died of leukemia April 9, 1999, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
He was born June 15, 1917, in Betheny, Mo., to Albert and Dora (McClure) Stotts.
He was raised in Betheny and graduated from high school.
He served in the Army in World War II and worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard after that, retiring in 1972 after 30 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
His wife, Minnie (Monger) Stotts, whom he married
in Bremerton on June 28, 1946, died last year.
Survivors include two sons, Burl of Spanaway and Donald of Seabeck; a daughter, Kathy Spragg of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Voncile Culp of Santa Maria, Calif.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon Wednesday with a funeral to follow at 1 p.m., both at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.

Opal Croghan
Opal Croghan, 89, of Bremerton died April 8, 1999, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born July 8, 1909, at Russellville, Mo., to Tandy and Anna (Blery) Enloe.
Mrs. Croghan was raised and educated in Missouri. In 1939, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and in 1947, moved from there to Wenatchee.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and enjoyed doing cross stitch.
On Oct. 29, 1947, she married
Morten Croghan in Wenatchee. He preceded he in death.
She is survived by a son, Rodney J. Croghan of Bremerton; a daughter, Carol Chanowsky of North Carolina; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 11th and Veneta in Bremerton, at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Kenneth Swingle
Kenneth Earl Swingle, 80, of Bremerton died April 8, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Swingle was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Didsbury, Canada, to Walter A. and Mary Louise (Meeker) Swingle.
He was raised from early childhood in Salem, Ore., where he graduated from Salem High School in 1936.
He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Asiatic Pacific Service Medal.
Mr. Swingle retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, where he worked as a welder.
An avid golfer, Mr. Swingle was a member of the Gold Mountain Golf Club. He was a skilled craftsman and hobbyist.
He is survived by his wife, H. Margaret (Lanham) Swingle, of the home. They were married
Dec. 21, 1945, in Salem.
He also is survived by two sons, Richard Haggard of Allyn, and Larry Haggard of Olalla; a daughter, Heather Bachman of Lakewood; two brothers, Noel Swingle of Dallas and Claude Swingle of Long Beach; three sisters, Gay Lanham of Silverton, Ore., Olive Reetz of Cheney and Claire Swingle of Salem; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the Miller-Woodlawn Chapel.
Internment will be in the Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park immediately following the chapel service.

Eva Fahrenwald
Eva Helena Fahrenwald, 85, of Bremerton died April 7, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Granum, Alberta, Canada, to August and Anna (Welsz) Radke.
She lived in Canada until age 11 when she moved to Portland, Ore. She moved to Bremerton in 1940 following her marriage on Feb. 18, 1937, to Cedric Fahrenwald, who preceded her in death.
She worked for the Bremerton School District in the Food Service Department, and retired in 1976.
Mrs. Fahrenwald is survived by two brothers, Emil Radke of Bremerton and Edwin Radke of Portland and a stepsister, Stella Bird of Victoria, British Columbia.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Claremont East Chapel. A private interment service will be held at the Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Elvera Melton
Former Kitsap County resident Elvera Victoria Melton, 75, died April 3, 1999, in Wheeler, Ore.
She was born May 21, 1923, in Vinland to Abe and Clara Larson. She was raised in Vinland, graduating from North Kitsap High School in 1941.
On Feb. 19, 1943, she married
Robert Melton. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Melton worked as head chauffeur for the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. Following high school, she worked for Sears and Roebuck Co. in Bremerton and for I. Magnin as an elevator operator and shoes and sports clothing model. In 1955, she attended beauty school. She went on to open her own shop in Dillon, Mont., which she operated for 10 years.
Survivors include a son, Byron of Manzanita, Ore.; two sisters, Adeline Weller of Federal Way and Irene Hagen of Poulsbo; and two grandchildren, Robyn Melton of Ashland, Ore., and Joe Melton of Manzanita.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Charles Episcopal Church in Poulsbo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waud's Funeral Home in Tillamook, Ore.

Phyllis Rolette
Phyllis M. Rolette, 68, of Poulsbo died April 6, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Drayton, N.D., to George and Margaret (McDermaid) Hoselton. She was raised and educated in Drayton.
On April 16, 1947, she married
Roy R. Rolette in Hallock, Minn.
Mrs. Rolette was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; a son, Robert of Pacific; three daughters, Ellie Frederickson and Shelley Raulerson, both of Poulsbo, and Joyce of Pacific; two sisters, Darlene Larson of Drayton and Opal Mattson of Stow, Idaho; and five grandchildren, Channon Rolette and Erik Frederickson, both of Kent, Kraig Frederickson, and Chelsi and Jesse Raulerson, all of Poulsbo.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Interment
will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.

Willa Wyckoff Tate
Willa El Birdie Wyckoff Tate, 88, of Kingston died of heart disease April 6, 1999, at Messenger House Care Center.
She was born Nov. 17, 1910, in Fife to Josiah and Nina (Cohee) Wyckoff. She was raised in Ketchikan, Alaska, graduating from high school there. She later graduated from the University of Washington's Sisters of Providence Nursing School in 1931.
On June 16, 1934, she married
Richard McMurray Tate in Juneau, Alaska. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Tate worked as a registered nurse at Petersburg Hospital in Alaska until 1934. She then became a homemaker.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen of Suquamish, Murray of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Michael of Kingston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Warner and Dick.
At her request, there will be no services.

George Kousbaugh
George Phillip Kousbaugh, 85, of Bremerton died of cardiac arrest April 7, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 25, 1913, in Nahma, Mich., to Martin and Mable (Armstrong) Kousbaugh.
On March 28, 1941, he married
Irma M. Schlaefli.
Mr. Kousbaugh worked for the Joliet Bridge Co. of Joliet, Ill., Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, the Loftus Lumber Co. as foreman of the cabinet shop, and as head of the maintenance department for the Bremerton School District.
He helped with the construction of the Lincoln Avenue Bible Church and was an active member, serving as a trustee for many years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dan of Forks and James of Edmonds; two grandchildren, Laura and William; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Inurnment will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
