TILLIE TOKARSYCK
Tillie Helen Tokarsyck, age 88, born in Kline, MT; however, her family moved to Cle Elum when she was an infant. She lived on Hillcrest Hill with her family, then her husband, until complications from Parkinson's necessitated the move to Camano.
Helen was employed for many years as a custodian for the Roslyn-Cle Elum school district, where she enjoyed the students and many of the student helpers that she had during her employment. Prior to that, she was actively involved in St. John the Baptist Church Alter Society, and she taught CCD classes for several years.
She was preceded in Cemetery, Cle Elum. Memorials can be made in Helen’s name to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Restoration fund. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
WALLACE THURMOND
Wallace Garvin "Wally" Thurmond, a resident of Sedro-Woolley for the past 35 years, passed Fri., July 4, 2003, at his home at the age of 79 years. He was married to Betty Cashwiler Norvell Benjamin Nov. 3, 1988, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy, and he was a member of Frank H. Hancock Post #92 American Legion of Stanwood. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
Wally is survived by his wife Betty of the family home in Sedro-Woolley; three children, Jeff Thurmond and his companion Pam Helm of Sedro-Woolley, Susan and her husband Ron Schauer of Clear Lake, and Cathy and her husband Cliff Butler of Sedro-Woolley; four stepchildren, Randy Norvell of Salem, OR, Tammy Cameron of Alger, Cherie McAlpine of Lake Stevens, and Laurie Knepper of Cresent Lake, OR; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in born May 2, 1929 in Seattle, WA. She married for 47 years. When he born Dec. 24, 1927, the oldest girl of six children of Jesse and Mabel Woody, in Harrison, Arkansas. In 1961, she moved to Washington, where she met the love of her life, George Moen. They made their home in the Stanwood and Monroe areas. She was a founding member of the Snohomish Community Church. She was loved and respected by many people and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, George Moen; daughters, Mabel Oden and Patti Taylor, both of Everett; grandchildren, Shawn Nicholson (California), Eric Christensen (Everett), Marci Taylor Cade (Auburn), Amy Oden (Colorado), Neil Oden (California), Aaron Oden (California), and Laura Oden (Everett); and five great-grandchildren. After a private internment, a celebration memorial service was held at Snohomish Community Church in Snohomish. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation will be appreciated.
EILEEN L. HOOPER
Eileen Lucille Hooper of Camano Island born in Seattle Oct. 18, 1928, to Ingvar and Lucille Eide. Eileen made a career for herself after all her young children were in school full time. She was employed by Washington Mutual Savings Bank, rising to the position of branch manager.
Even though she enjoyed her work, the true light of her life was her family. She also liked playing golf, gardening, knitting and she was passionate about reading. She was a very caring, compassionate person. She is survived by Bill, her loving husband of 56 years; son Rod (Sandy); daughter Karen (Gary); son Martin; grandson Justin; granddaughters Michelle (Denny), Kelly (Jared); great-grandsons Nikolas and Benjamin, and many dear extended family members and friends. We all miss you and will love you forever.
A celebration of her life will be held Thurs., July 10, 1 p.m., at the Chalet at Camaloch (East Camano Dr. and McElroy Dr.). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association of Washington, 2625 Third Ave., Seattle, WA 98121.
WILSON WALKER
Wilson "Buck" Walker, 77, departed June 26, 2003, to be with his Lord and Savior.
Buck was death by his first wife, Margaret Walker, in 1978. A special "thank you" to Dr. Gjerest and staff in the oncology department at Cascade Valley Hospital. Service will be 11 a.m., Wed., July 2 at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood. Military graveside will be held at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett at 2 p.m., Wednesday. MICHAEL SHANHOLTZ
Michael E. Shanholtz was died at home and went to his repose with the Lord June 16, 2003.
Mike was preceded in passed away peacefully Sat., June 28, 2003, with her daughter and nieces by her side. Ethel was married Halbert W. West in 1941. Following his service in the armed forces, they moved to Denver in 1949. There, Ethel lived for the next 51 years as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She was also a bookkeeper and accountant in Kansas City and in Aurora, CO. In 2000, Ethel moved to Stanwood to live with her daughter and family.
Ethel's interests included ice skating, tennis, bowling, sewing and spending time with her family and friends. Ethel is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bryand; son-in-law, Noel Bryand; granddaughter, Skye Audra Bryand, all of Stanwood; her grandsons, Devin, Ryan and Brandon West; and one great-grandson, Gabriel West, all of Colorado. Ethel also leaves three sisters-in-law, Martha Schroeger of Shawnee, KS, Pauline Schroeger of Kansas City, and Patty Schroeger of Holts Summit, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband of 38 years, Halbert West, and her loving son, Robert West, who passing will be mourned by those of us who loved her so much!
RINA M. LUND
Rina Margaret Lund, 83, of Stanwood, born in Stanwood April 29, 1920, to Peter and Marie Mahle. She was raised in Stanwood by her adopted parents, Carl and Inga Bangs. She graduated from Stanwood High School in 1938. Margaret was death by her loving husband, Selmer, and also her parents and adopted parents. She is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marion and Jim Hendershot, Ray and Aileen Lund, Pug and Mary Jane Lund, Gene Lund; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service is 2 p.m., Wed., July 2, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Stanwood. Private burial at Our Saviour's Lutheran Cemetery, Coupeville.
Robert Lyle "Bob" Eggerman, age 88, born June 10, 1915, in Shawnee, OK to Donald Gilbert and Margaret Irene (Lyle) Eggerman. Bob began his high school career at Culver Military Academy in Indiana and finished in Seattle, graduating from Franklin High School in 1934.
Mr. Eggerman attended the University of Washington, graduating with his Bachelors Degree in economics. He worked for a time in Port Angeles as an accountant. With the start of World War II, Bob returned to the university to finish his ROTC training. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army April 2, 1943. He was released from active duty June 18, 1946, but remained in the reserves until 1953. He left the Army with the rank of First Lieutenant.
Bob worked in San Francisco's financial district following the war as an accountant for Fiberboard Products. He was married to Margaret Elizabeth Oberstar in Oakland, CA May 15, 1948. Bob had a dream of operating a chicken farm and looked for a location in the Bay Area. Mr. Eggerman's father had a small farm on Whidbey Island and was seeking help in its operation. In 1949, Bob and Marge moved to Coupeville. Bob loved farming. He was also an avid Husky fan and attended many home games. He was also a Tyee member and Alpha Delta Phi member of the University of Washington.
Mr. Eggerman was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Coupeville, former member of the farmer's co-op of Oak Harbor, a member of the Deerwood Grange of Greenbank, a long-time committeeman and activist in the Republican Party and member of the Retired Officers Association. Bob was also a frequent contributor to the letters to the editor of the Whidbey News Times and others.
Bob Eggerman is survived by his wife, Margaret "Marge" Eggerman at the family home; four children and their spouses: James O. Eggerman and Judith Robb Eggerman of Seattle, Thomas Lyle Eggerman, MD and Amy Patterson, MD of Rockville, MD, M. Irene Eggerman and Landon M. Gibson III of Auburn, and Stephen A. Eggerman and Jeanette N. Eggerman of Kenmore; 10 grandchildren also survive.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church Building Fund, Friends of Home Health of Whidbey General Hospital or the Pregnancy Care Clinic. Arrangements under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.

Bailey is the daughter of James Dean and Kristal (Gollihar) Dean, both graduates of Arlington High School. They live at 505 Ironwood St., Great Falls, MT, 59405, where James is stationed in the Air Force. She is survived by her sister Brianna Danae, 2; grandparents, Rebecca Rybacki and Philip Dean of Camano Island, and Linda Nelson of California; also, her aunt, Lisa Rybacki; cousins, Jerry and Michaela Brogan, Adam Rybacki, Matthew, Angel, and Kaitlynn Cory, all of Arlington; her Uncle Michael and Aunt Sara Gollihar of Great Falls, MT, Uncle Steven and Aunt Lisa Crowley of Marysville, and Uncle Matthew A.
