PEARL J. MARSTROM
Pearl J. Marstrom, 72, of Manson born Aug. 21, 1930, at Sparta, Georgia, the daughter of Lindsey and Evelyn (Cadle) Askew. Pearl attended school there and moved with her family to Washington when she was 13.
She death by her parents.
ROBERT L. NELSON
Robert (Bob) L. Nelson, 66, of Camano Island born in Thief River Falls, MN, Sept. 18, 1936 to parents Ole J. and Vivian D. Nelson. He and his family moved to Bellingham, when he was 8 years old. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1955. During his high school years, he met and fell in love with Loretta Forbes from Lynden, whom he died Oct. 4, 2002. He was death by his parents and one daughter, Sherrie Lynn. Miles is survived by his wife, Sharyn; daughter, Sheryl; son, Miles Peck, Jr.; granddaughter, Shelby; and grandsons, Cameron and Miles, III; brothers, Leslie and wife Linda Peck, W. Bud Peck and wife Gladys; nieces, Karan Messer, Kimberly Powell, Crystal Brooks and Nichole Powell; nephews, Gregory Peck, Leslie Peck, Jr., Stephen Powell and Nicholas Powell.
Miles served in the Army in Alaskan Communications. He was a truck driver and then worked in refinery maintenance until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing until his passion for horses and long-distance endurance races took place. He loved being with Sharyn in all his pursuits and spent his life loving and giving to others at all opportunities. His loving smile and quick jokes made him a beloved friend to many, always quick with kind words and help when needed. He will be remembered always! Graveside services were Monday at Fir-Conway died Oct. 4, 2002 at home, after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was married Patty Preston in July of 1986. He was in computer sales, did house painting and owned and operated the North Creek Tavern.
He enjoyed carpentry and gardening. Darrell is survived by his wife, Patty (Preston) Prentice of the family home; sons, Terry (Dot) of Seattle, and Scott of France; daughter, Melissa (Justine) Snodgrass of Stanwood; brother, Terry of Bend, OR; sisters Gwen Thornton of Sequim, Darlene Tucker, Pat Lee of Bothell, and Linda Eastwood of Moses Lake; grandchildren, Veronica, Elizabeth and Jared.
He was preceded in passed away peacefully at home in Stanwood after an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family, on Sept. 29, 2002. She was married Dayton J. "Bud" Dadisman on March 20, 1937 and retired from Downs Portrait Studio. Mrs. Dadisman was a life-time member of North-Mar Church of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Warren, where she taught Sunday School and participated in prayer and missions groups. Besides her church work, she served in the Gideons Auxiliary and volunteered for the Red Cross and the Trumbull County Board of Elections. Mrs. Dadisman and her husband also traveled extensively in North America, visiting all of the lower 48 states and several Canadian provinces. She moved to Stanwood in 1998 to be near her daughter and family.
Preceding her in interment following in the Dadisman family plot at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH.
A memorial will be held Sun., Oct. 13, 3 p.m., at Island Baptist Church, Camano Island, with Pastor Rick Mitchell officiating. Memorials may be made to Skagit Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
The family extends their thanks for the excellent care provided by Skagit Hospice in the past few months. The family would also like to thank everyone who assisted with Lois' care, visited, called sent cards and flowers, and prayed for her during her illnesses.
GLADYS C. CALVIN
Gladys C. Calvin, beloved mother and wife, went to be with the Lord Oct. 4, 2002, after a long battle with cancer.
Gladys enjoyed doing crafts and also loved bowling and camping with her family. She loved animals of all kinds and had many pet dogs and cats over her lifetime.
Gladys was a past member of the Birdsview Grange, where for 25 years, she held various offices and did a great deal of volunteer work for the Grange and the community at large. She also enjoyed visiting with and caring for her two grandsons.
Gladys leaves behind a loving husband of almost 61 years, William (Bill) Colvin; a daughter, Sharon Colvin; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald (Gene) and Jewell Colvin; two grandsons and grand-daughters-in-law, Raymond and Jennifer Colvin, and Steven and Heather Colvin.
At her request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to your favorite charity.
DONALD W. MELUM
Don "Swede" Walter Melum, died Sept. 29, 2002. Don died. He was a man of impressive stature and heart, who taught us many things, including how to die with courage and grace. He will be greatly missed.
SHIRLEY J. OLSON
Shirley Jean (Molt) Olson, 68, born in Everest, KS Oct. 6, 1933, to Julius Gustiv Molt and Golda May (Robertson) Molt. She was the fourth of nine children. The Molt family moved to Yakima Valley in 1946, and then settled in Carrolls, WA in 1947. Shirley graduated from Kelso High School in 1951. She had worked in the banking industry until her retirement in 1996.
Shirley death by her husband Ernest Olson; her parents; and one sister. A memorial service will be held at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood, Fri., Oct. 11, 1 p.m.

LINN R. EMRICH
In loving memory of our "Dad, " a man full of wisdom, kindness and generosity.
Linn was a thrill seeker. He loved being a pilot, soaring gliders, hot air ballooning, skydiving, pyrotechnics, jet skiing, scuba diving, dancing, sailing, campfires, whippets, and wild bird life. He was always proud of a well-groomed runway and operated the Issaquah Skyport for 27 years. He authored "The Complete Book of Sky Sports." Linn born on May 2, 1931, in Harvey, IL, the son of Russell and Helen Emrich.
When he was a young child, the family moved to Mercer Island, where he was raised. The family later moved to Issaquah. Linn graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He worked for Pacific Northern Airlines and Pan American Airlines as a flight engineer. He also was a co-pilot for Alaska Airlines and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Linn moved to Camano Island in 1988, after a long battle trying to save the Issaquah airport from development. Linn is survived by his son, Thor of Camano Island; daughter, Shari L. (William) Madamba of Issaquah; one brother, Russell Emrich of Las Vegas, NV; two grandsons, Shawn and James of Issaquah; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held 11 a.m., Sat., Oct. 12, at Camano Chapel, 867 S. West Camano Dr., Camano Island. Following is an open invitation to join the family at Linn's Camano airstrip for a fly-in tribute, campfire, potluck, story-telling and parachute jumping. The family would like to give special thanks to family friend, Thor Olsen. His strength, tender caring, encouragement and unconditional love have touched every member of our family. Arrangements under the direction of Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home.
KENNETH LEMMON
Kenneth Lemmon (Ken), married Patsy Remsberg. His working career spanned several trades, but all included design, drafting, estimating, and quality control. He retired from Seattle Refrigeration in 1995.
He coached his sons in youth soccer in Mountlake Terrace for seven years, taking the team to state championship several times. Pat and Ken were active in church, teaching marriage ministries for several years. They traveled after retirement, enjoying many family campouts at different places and enjoyed taking grandkids with them.
Ken leaves his wife of 46 years, Patsy; sons, Greg of Phoenix, AZ, and Doug (Susie) of Gold Bar; daughter, Heidi Ramos of Arlington; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Mike, Kenny, Willy, Danny, Katie and Kevin; one brother; and numerous relatives and friends.
Services were held Tues., Sept. 24 at at Christian Family Center, Camano Island.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Snohomish County, Christian Family Center or Everett Gospel Mission.
