WILLIAM M. KOHLER
William M. Kohler went to be with the Spirits on Aug. 17, at the age of 49 years. William was passed away Sun., Sept. 15, 2002 at Skagit Valley Hospital following a brief illness. He was married Emma Thorsen to which a son Alvin was married Agnes Danielson. His parents preceded him in Cemetery, Stanwood. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. WILLARD R. EVANS
Willard Robert Evans, 91, long-time Anacortes businessman, born on Aug. 8, 1911 in Stanwood, WA where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Stanwood High School. He attended Skagit Valley College where he met his wife of 64 years, Bernice Dollie Dybbro. They were death by his sister Wanda in 1994 and is survived by his wife Bernice at the family home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Howell of Pullman, two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Joanne Evans and Paul and Connie Evans, all of Anacortes; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Krystal and Todd Flack of Moscow, ID, Andrew and Andrea Howell of Pullman, WA, Rob and Karen Evans, Derek and Ellen Evans of Anacortes, David and Ariana Evans, Paul and Karen Evans of Mount Vernon, Mark and Jodi Evans of Bow and Joy and Brad Gallahar of Burlington; a cousin, Shirley Magner of Camano Island and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 14, at Anacortes First Baptist Church with Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes.

ROLLAND MARCOTT
Rolland "Ron" Raymond Marcott, a Camano Island resident since 1978, born Nov. 6, 1914 in Dorothy, MN to Phillip and Anna Marcott. At age 17 Ron Left Minnesota and settled in Washington state where he worked in the food industry in such positions as a chef, restaurant management and business owner. Ron's last job was as the chief steward in charge of feeding all of the prisoners in the city and county jails for King County until retiring in 1978.
Ron was preceded in born April 8, 1912, and death by his son, Gary; four brothers, Ole, Anton, Ed, Albert; three sisters, Ann Jenny, Martha Breimo, and Nora Willis.
He went to Ketchikan, AK as a young man for a number of summers for the salmon fishing season, then was employed by Summit Timber until retiring. He spent many happy years at his Oso home, and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting in the surrounding mountains and the "Stilly" River. At his request, there will be no services. Family and friends gathered for a potluck at the Oso Firehall Sat., Sept. 7 at noon.
CHARLES B. PARRISH
Charles Boyd Parrish was passed away Aug. 31, 2002.
Charles retired from farming in 1969, and moved to Stanwood to work for the Stanwood School District for many years. He leaves a loving wife of 65 years, Doris; son Jim (Sylvia) of Stanwood; daughter Judy (Jack Webster) of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Brian and Bradley Parrish, Matt, Nicholas and Jennifer Myers and Jeff Webster, all of Mount Vernon; sisters, Edna (Cliff Countryman), Elma (Asa Mills), both of St. John, WA; numerous nieces and nephews, all of the Spokane area. He was preceded in Interment at Anderson death. Her brothers Bob and Gary reside in Portland and Seattle.
After graduation from the University of Portland, she began her business career as a ticket agent for United Airlines, followed by a 30-year association as associate broker with Sam Gotter Realty in Tigard, OR. She will be remembered by the many friends she made assisting with her mother’s holiday gift shop and mail order business on Bull Mountain in Tigard. Ginny was always first to volunteer on community committees and fund drives.
She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Portland, secretary and treasurer of Tigard Little League and for many years, before becoming in need herself, was a board member of the Portland Chapter of Multiple
Sclerosis Society. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, Camano Island Thurs., Sept. 19, at 2:30 p.m. An earlier memorial service was held in Portland, OR on Sept. 5. Remembrances may be made in her name to St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, Camano Island, WA 98292, or First Baptist Church, Portland, OR 97209, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
BENTON M. CLAY
Benton McCabe Clay born March 30, 1919 in Arlington, CO to Mary McCabe and Mark Clay. He death by three brothers; one sister; and a son, Benton M. Clay, Jr. (Bud).
Military graveside services will be performed in Tahoma National passed away during the early morning hours of August 29, 2002 with Dolores, his loving wife of 52 years, by his side. death by brother, Neil Hansen; grandson, Jim Newell; and his beloved Heidi, loyal companion who was his shadow for many years. We will all miss him very much. Many thanks to the staff of Country Villa for all their support and love during the last seven months.

AXEL TENGELIN
Axel Tengelin, beloved husband and father, born in Bergsjo, Sweden Oct. 2, 1911, to Johan Tengelin and Elizabeth Henning Tengelin. He emigrated to Stanwood in 1928, at the age of 17 to live with his uncle, Peter Henning, Sr. On March 2, 1940, Axel Cemetery, followed by a memorial service, 2 p.m., at the Josephine Sunset Home chapel, 9901 - 272nd Pl. NW, Stanwood. Memorials may be made to Josephine Sunset Home or Providence Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
MARGUERITE ANDERSON
Marguerite Anderson, 87, of College Place, WA, born May 16, 1915 in Everett to Hjalmer and Jennie Peterson Johnson. She graduated from Everett High School in 1933. She death by her parents, two sisters and her husband Warren May 10.
Viewing will be Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Chapel, 1551 Dalles Military Rd., Walla Walla, WA 99362. Memorial service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at College Place Village Seventh-day Advent-ist Church, 715 SE 12th St., College Place, with Walt Meske officiating. Graveside service will be at Cedarhome died instantly Mon., Aug. 12, 2002, after being struck by a motorist as he was working alongside Highway 18 for state transportation. He leaves his devoted mother, Genevieve Baardson, and two daughters, Heide Van Putten of Spokane and Shannon Taitano of Enumclaw and spouses; two aunts
and uncles, Dorothy Myers, Winnie and Bob Andrews of Stanwood, Wilbur Willis of Missouri and Ed Willis of Seattle and their spouses; several cousins and many friends. The family wishes to thank the state transportation and crew and friends and everyone who gave their time to help his mother.
ARDIS A. CANNON
Ardis A. Cannon, 94, born April 19, 1908, in Stratford, NJ. She was preceded in Interment at Greenacres in Ferndale. A gathering followed Mon., Aug. 26.
