ANNA Z. JONES
Anna (Zonneveld) Jones, 89, a former resident of Burlington, born Feb. 18, 1915, at Sterling, near Sedro-Woolley, one of six children of the late John M. and Elsie (Bergsma) Zonneveld. She attended Burlington schools and later business college in Mount Vernon. In 1968 she graduated as a licensed practical nurse. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Nellie Zonneveld of Sacramento, CA, and Elinor Zonneveld of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in passed away at Warm Beach Senior Community Sun., Nov. 7, 2004. He was a resident of Warm Beach for 15 years. He was married Stella Redpath October 1939. They worked together at Twin City Foods. They also traveled many times to Hawaii, Denmark and Europe. He is survived by a son, Daniel of Medford, OR; nephews, Don (Jean) Larsen, Stanwood, Irwin (Shirley) Pedersen of Snohomish; nieces, Shirley (Howard) Dorsey, Burlington, Linda (Curt) Stenvers, Bellingham, Lee Ellen (Dale) Christopherson, Bellingham, Janet (Pete) Flones, Bellingham, Joyce (Allen) Linn, Olympia; and friends, Arnold and Mary Wennerberg.
He is preceded in passed away Oct. 31, 2004. She was death by her husband, N.G. "Buddy"; and daughter, Pennie. No services at her request.
DAGNY B. NYGAARD
Dagny Bergitte Unsgaard-Nygaard, 105, born Aug. 31, 1899, in Tydal, Norway to Berit Unsgaard, a midwife, and David Unsgaard, a farmer-carpenter-poet. One of seven children, Dagny attended local schools for eight years; following, she completed a nine-month course at a Christian school for youth. She death by her husband Lars; and one daughter, Inger Carr.
She is survived by one daughter, Thelma Schwarz; two sons-in-law, M. Roy Schwarz, Irvington, NY, and William Carr of Tacoma, WA; nine grandchildren, David Carr, Connie Carr, Daniel Carr, Paul Carr, Jonathan Carr, Miriam Krause, Michael Carr, Ryan Schwarz and Tanna Schwarz; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. May God grant her the peace that we all seek.
died Nov. 1, 2004 in Stanwood. Chuck was married Lorene Cox on June 11, 1948 in Raymond. Lorene preceded Chuck in Cemetery.
HAROLD GIRARD
Harold "Harry" Girard was went to be with the Lord on Oct. 28, 2004. "Big H" leaves his loving wife of 45 years, Jackie; sons Dean (Debbie) and Scott; daughter Chris (Russ); grandchildren Danielle, Nathaniel and Bradon; relatives and a host of friends.
Harry's warm personality, generous heart, and humor touched everybody he met. He lived his life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends, and could be found at any time on a golf course or at a garage sale. A memorial will he held on Sat., Nov. 6, 1 p.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home, 27001 88th Ave NW, Stanwood, followed by a celebration of his life at Camano Golf Course Chalet.

ELEANOR MARIE IPSEN
Eleanor was married January 12, 1946. They worked hard raising a family and enjoyed entertaining and visiting with family and friends. In their life together, Eleanor and Earl liked to travel; from car camping with three kids and a small tent, to relaxing on Hawaiian beaches in their retirement years.
Eleanor was a devoted member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Stanwood since 1955. She was a member of the Martha Circle and sewed many a quilt top with the Quilting Ladies for the Lutheran World Relief Fund. She and Addie Rygmyr were in charge of the kitchen at church a number of years.
She leaves her son Brad Ipsen and his wife Hyang Cha of Marysville; daughter Connie Ayers and her husband Terry of Bremerton, daughter Janine Ipsen and her husband Henry Deposit of Seattle; grandchildren Michael Ipsen, Sonja Ipsen, Kevin Ayers and Katie Herold. They all loved her very much. Eleanor enjoyed the arrival of great granddaughters Kaitlyn Ipsen and Isabella Ayers this last year. Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, in Stanwood, WA. Those who wish may make memorials to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church or the Lutheran World Relief Fund. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stan-wood, WA.
OLGA J. SWANSON
Olga Johana Swanson (Jacobson) of Stanwood, WA, Born May 10, 1922, in Seattle, Olga resided at Warm Beach Senior Community near Stanwood since 1988 with her late husband Vincent, who passed away peacefully Feb. 14, 2005, at the age of 102. She was died. She was nine years old. She always said it was a good place to live, where families supported each other in work and play.
By the time she was 13, her mother became ill, and since she was the oldest daughter, the responsibility of keeping up the house and cooking fell into her lap. Trying to be a schoolgirl, taking care of a home, as well as younger sisters and grandmother, proved to be overwhelming. She quit school in the beginning of eighth grade. It was harvest time, and she handpicked the corn for days. Tillie had a heart for giving to others and hard work.
In 1921, she met Vern at a dance in Randolph, and they were later death by her parents, five brothers and one sister, her husband of 50 years, Vern in 1972, her daughter, Marjorie in 1993, and her son, Raymond in 1998. She is survived by one sister, Anna Robertson; daughter, Darleen Hammer; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Hurlbert; grandchildren, Leslie Pederson, Darrel Pederson (Hope), Donna Newton (Rich), Yvonne Shay (John), Michael Hurlbert (Sally), Thomas Hurlbert (Darlene), Daniel Hurlbert (Sally), Brian Hurlbert (Kathleen), Steven Hammer (Marty) and Kathleen Whitson (Ben); 23 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends, all of whom loved her deeply.
Tillie touched our hearts and left a lasting impression to everyone she came into contact with and will be remembered as a loving, giving, gentle person who loved her family and enjoyed their visits with her. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m., Fri., Feb. 18, under the direction of Father William Treacy at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Stanwood, followed by a graveside service in the Anderson born in Irene, SD, May 24, 1905, and married to Esther Visten Klett for 51 years. He is survived by his son, Harold Robert (Marianne) Klett of Redwood City, CA; their children, Stephen and Chrystine of Kings Beach, CA; daughter, Delora Strand and her friend Bevan Toneri of Marysville; and her sons, Scott (Julie) of Anchorage, AK, Keith (Roxanne) of Camano Island, and Robert (Bobbi) of Marysville; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews and several cousins; and his beloved companion, Marit Highland of Camano Island and her family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; and brothers, Clifford and Henry.
Memorial services were held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Mon., Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Stanwood, Josephine Sunset Home, Stanwood or Stanwood Area Historical Society.
