Arlington, WA - John C. Woodward passed away June 19, 2007.
He was born Sept. 18, 1948.
No words can express the happiness he brought and the memories well cherish.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., June 27, 2007 at Schaefer Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave., Marysville.

Allen Schauer
Allen Schauer, 72, of Marysville, Wash., arrived safe in the arms of his Lord and Savior on June 21, 2007.
He was born April 18, 1935, to Walter and Lydia (Grenz) Schauer of Napoleon, N.D.
Allen graduated from Napoleon High School in 1955, enlisted in the Army and served 12 years in Aviation, with Army Air Defense Choral Group, and two overseas assignments in India and Vietnam. He served and was honorably discharged in March 1967 as SSG E6.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice Zako; brother, Walter Schauer; and grandson, Daniel Crain.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of 48 years; three daughters, Faith (James) Davenport, Twila (Tracy) Crain and Jennifer (Jason) Rhodes; two sisters, Phillis (Ed) Hall of Georgia and Maxine (Richard) Perkins of Florida; brother, Weston (Nancy) Schauer of North Dakota; five grandons; and one granddaughter.
Visitation was at The Schaefer-Shipman funeral home from 4 - 8 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2007. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Marysville Cemetery; a memorial service followed at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Marysville, Wash.
Schenaker, Doris Mae
Arlington, WA - Jesus called his daughter, Doris Mae Schenaker home to heaven on March 20, 2007, after a long bout with cancer.
She was born in El Centro, Calif., on Jan. 20, 1931, to Harold and Helen (Wagner) Lounsbury. She spent her childhood years in Everett, Seattle and Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School in 1949. Next Doris graduated from Washington State College majoring in Elementary Education.
Doris married Jack Schenaker on Sept. 6, 1952. She accompanied him to homes in Europe, Puerto Rico, the continental United States and Hawaii while Jack served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years. After Jacks retirement, they returned to school, graduating from Seattle Bible College and Fuller Theological Seminary of Pasadena, Calif.
Doris taught classes at Seattle Bible College in missions, communication and English as a Second Language (ESL) for 13 years. She also served on the Board of Directors at the same college. Doris was like a mother to many of her students, sharing love, acceptance, encouragement and wise counsel.
Doris was active in her church and other Christian groups such as the American Indian Fellowship and Aglow International. Many recent summers were filled with mission trips to Uganda, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, teaching and evangelizing for her Lord Jesus, bringing hope to her students. She was gifted in interceding in prayer and discipling new and mature Christians. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31.
Her other interests included quilting, golfing and organizing and hosting elegant dinners.
Doris is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter, Diane (Schenaker) Gaston and family of Leb anon, Oregon; son, Michael Schenaker and family of Fairfax, Va.; and her sister JoAnn Kettel and family of Deer Park.
A memorial service will be held on April 22, 2007 at 3:30 p.m., at Sonrise Chapel, 11625 Airport Road, Everett.
Memorials may be sent to Seattle Bible College or Providence Hospice of Snohomish County. A private family burial will be held at an earlier date.
Lien, Carmen Therese
Arlington, WA - Carmen Lien, 42, of Marysville, Wash., passed away June 14, 2007, after a short, but hard-fought battle with cancer.
Carmen was born Dec. 19, 1964, in Agana, Guam.
Carmen grew up in Snohomish, Wash., where she graduated in 1983. Her life was centered around her children and all of their many activities.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clete; her twin 7-year-olds, son, Cale, and daughter, Kendall; parents, Jose and Teresita Paulino; her six brothers, Felix, Joe, Mike, Gilbert, Jeff and Jim Paulino, along with their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements included a viewing from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, at Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Saint Michaels Catholic Church, Snohomish.
Lee, David Edward
Arlington, WA - David Edward Lee, 50, passed away in his home Saturday, March 24, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.
David was born Jan. 27, 1957, to Edward Owen Lee and Bessie Guylene Lee (Samis) in Pauls Valley, Okla. He spent most of his childhood in the Seattle area, where his family owned a produce market, until they moved back to Oklahoma in 1973.
David left for the Navy in 1975, after the death of his beloved father. After concluding his military service, David traveled around the country making many friends, until settling once again in the Seattle area.
He became general manager of a large produce company, and in 1981 married his soul-mate, Carol Christensen-Lee. They had two daughters, Melissa Ann and Angela Kay. In 1990, David left the produce business to become a woodworker, where he built a thriving family business making furniture and home decor. In 1998, David moved his family to Sulphur, Okla., when he purchased his grandmothers house.
David was a kind and generous man, who was very proud of his family name and heritage. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 25 years (Sulphur); his daughters Melissa (Norman), Angela (Ada); mother Guylene Samis (Sulphur); three sisters, Deborah Lee (Florida), Pam Walker and husband C.D. (Milburn), Karen Lee and husband Tony (Tecumseh) and one brother Billy Bailey (Ardmore). David is also survived by Bon Mayberry (Ada), loved as a son, 10 nieces and nephews, as well as 14 great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Methodist Church n Davis, Okla.
Ketchum, Waltraud Wallie
Arlington, WA - Wallie passed away April 6, 2007, following a month-long struggle to gain her strength following heart surgery.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Heidelberg, Germany to Philpp and Barbara Neuner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Ketchum; and both of her parents. She was also preceded in death by her long time companion, John Kapfer.
Wallie grew up in Karlsrhue, Germany, and met her husband there while he was serving in the military following WW II. They returned to the USA in September 1949, moving several times while her husband continued with his military career. She worked for a short time as a seamstress in the fashion industry while they were stationed in California.
After her husbands death in 1963, she concentrated on raising her four children. She met John in 1967 and enjoyed many years with him as they filled their weekends fishing the Puget Sound for the biggest salmon they could catch.
After Johns death she enjoyed traveling with her friends and family and was able to enjoy several cruises over the past 10 years. She also enjoyed taking day trips and attending the Mariners spring training in Arizona. She was a member of the Widows Information Center and was actively involved with AARP, including working at the Elder Fair and helping with the Nubian Festival in Everett.
She also enjoyed the local Senior-Community Center in Marysville, Wash., and was a member of the needlers who met there weekly. She also was very involved in volunteer work, at the Community Center as well as Madeleine Villa Care Center.
Wallie is survived by her half-sister, Monika Buchholz, of Heidelberg, Germany; and her half-brother, Klaus Laubenstein, of Karlsrhue, Germany; four children, Jim Ketchum, of Phoenix, Ariz., Carol Nixon (Tom), of Marysville, Dan Ketchum, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cal Ketchum (Tracy), of Kellogg, Idaho; grandchildren, Jim Breedlove (Amy), Keri Boswell (Scott), Jennifer Nixon, Stephanie, Ty and Seth Ketchum; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cole, Drew and Jacob Breedlove, Zachary and Tanner Boswell.
Memorial Services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Schaefer Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the local Cancer Society.
